This is a first-person anecdotal segment from a YouTube video by Joy Kong, MD (uploaded June 28, 2025) recounting a peculiar experience with a group demonstration of "Network Chiropractic." The speaker describes an outlandish adjustment and a hands-on lab where multiple classmates were placed on tables; a chiropractor performed a maneuver with his hands held about 12 inches above a participant's calves, eliciting automatic plantar-flexion of the feet. The tone is incredulous and amused, and the piece centers on the surprising bodily reactions observed.

Chiropractic is so strange because you can have some of the most outlandish looking things. I remember this one club that came in and it was called Network Chiropractic. And the adjustment was literally this. And he would go like this. And then. And you're like, what are you doing? Yeah, barely. And the instructor did it on his patient, and then she did it on him. And we were just like making fun of this. We were like, this is absolutely ridiculous because the person. Person was laying face down and their shoulders moving and they're taking these deep breaths and they're just moving all over. And you're just like, what could that possibly do? And then we had a break and we go over to the lab where it's like, okay, now we're going to do it on you. So four or five of my friends, they were the first group to be put on the six tables, and they started doing it and their bodies just automatically did it. I look at my friend and he's face down. He goes, you guys want to see something cool? I said, sure. So he's completely face down. Could not see what the man was doing behind him. He takes his hands 12 inches above his calves. He goes, watch this, and puts him above his calves this far away. And he plantar flexes his foot and he moves it away and it goes back and he brings it back and he plantar flexes his foot and he goes back and he goes. And his feet go. And I was like, okay, I don't know everything.
