60-Yr-Old Breaks Down To "Earth Song" | Fan From MJ's Cassette Era #michealjackson

A 60-year-old who grew up with Michael Jackson's cassettes watches "Earth Song" for the first time and breaks down. He connects the song's environmental plea to his own book, "What the Fuck I Found God," and reflects on how MJ's message still hits hard decades later.

Hello guys, so today I'm going to— I'm here to do a Michael Jackson video song. This is— this Michael Jackson had— we had grown up with Michael Jackson, so he was— he grew up— we grew up in his times and he was releasing Bad, Beat It, Thriller real time. We had owned those cassettes and I'm proud to say we had owned those cassettes. Like cassettes like this. I still have some of them, like I still have Lobo. So I used to own those cassettes, okay? And today I'm a little— in our times, like Michael Jackson was not really— he was taken not really taken seriously. His music was never understood by people. So there was more about his nose and his, you know, all this children thing, and more about his dance, which, you know, people on the street streets were dancing. So he wasn't really considered a class musician, and people like, particularly in Bengal, like, he was considered no-nonsense music kind of a thing. Now I really am getting into Michael Jackson all over again along with you guys, and I'm trying to understand, my God, nobody understood his music, nobody understood his passion, nobody understood his lyrics. So I have, uh, like, I have not watched Earth Song because it was not released that time. But I guess, you know, when I watched it now and I read the lyrics, I was— I could not get over it. I kept on watching it over and over and over again. So let me just do the, you know, uh, reaction video, though I'm doing it for the— I don't know. 50th time I'm watching this video, but I still want to watch it and watch it along with you guys. Okay, so here it goes. And yeah, so I won't interrupt. I'm actually watching on TV because I don't know how to do the Uh, editing, dual editing kind of a thing. Anyway, it doesn't matter. You guys must have watched it several times. It's like a prayer. I feel it's like a prayer.
What about sunrise?
What about it?
What about rain?
Look at the heat today. There's no God, nobody to protect us.
That you said was yours and mine. Did you ever stop to notice all the blood we shed before? Did you ever stop to notice this crying earth that's weeping still?
What have we done to the world?
Look what we've done.
Look, he didn't— he was way ahead of his times. Nobody understood him. He was just 7 years older to me. Can you believe that? I'm alive, he's no more. Did you ever stop to notice the color of the sweeping shores? Oh my God, so well done video. Oh my God, and these were all recorded, actual events were recorded by several filmmakers. You can look out for this on YouTube. Like, I've been done Drunk with Michael Jackson ever since I saw Michael. Sorry. It's all happening. It's all happening. You said it, Michael, 17 years ago. Nothing has changed. It's only becoming worse. Oh my God, if only this happens. Damn, he wanted to end it in a positive note, but the words, the lyrics don't end in a positive note. The lyrics end in a question to God. Did you really, do you really save us? I've written about almost the same thing in my latest book, What the Fuck I Found God. I also asked God the same thing after 17 years. He posed this question to God before, like 17 years ago. Unbelievable. So thank you for watching, guys. I mean, There's nothing to thank you, but I'm glad I could share my reaction with you. Now I feel a sense of redemption and a sense of like, you know, like passing down my knowledge to you that even I, I didn't think of him that way. I was a great fan of his. I used to play his music whenever I would rush back home from school. I would play Beat It and Bad and all those noises that were going around about him. I didn't really believe them. Then obviously in time, you know, I kind of got over my teenage days. And but now again I'm back to my teenage days along with my son. We are both back together, you know, like so much we're doing. We are going into Michael Jackson. We are kind of going to the rabbit hole all over again. So I had to get it out of my, out of my system and share it with you guys. Thanks for watching and subscribe to my channel. More, more such videos are coming up. Thank you.
