Two people left conventional careers feeling something was wrong with modern life. Over two and a half years, they moved toward regenerative agriculture in Appalachia, building a vision of sustainable living for future generations and inviting others to join them.
I was growing a career, pursuing spotlights and all of that. Deep within me though, I was holding a deep, dark secret.
Two and a half years ago is when we started realizing that something was off. We just really began to understand that there was this very crucial component to living wild.
There was a lot of people that were confused and questioned, and we lost a lot of friends. It's a very overwhelming feeling to realize just how domesticated we've become. There was still this feeling like there's got to be more. But it was in those times of learning where I never felt empty and I never felt alone. I felt everything that I was doing was sustainable, not just for me, not just for my interior garden, but for my children. And I thought to myself, you know, we're gonna have to pioneer something here in this place, in Appalachia. We're gonna have to pioneer this regenerative agriculture thing. [FOREIGN LANGUAGE] Maybe you've felt like something's a little off. You're not alone. You don't have to do this alone. We can create a place of sustainability where our kids, kids, kids can live fulfilled and dream and wonder.
