In this short instructional video, the speaker explains how common garden weeds such as comfrey, dandelion, plantain, and clover can be turned into a low‑cost liquid fertilizer. The method involves filling a non‑leaking 55‑gallon barrel or a 5‑gallon bucket halfway with the chopped weeds, covering them with water, and letting the mixture steep for up to three weeks while stirring every other day. The brew darkens as nutrients leach out, creating a “magic juice” that is diluted 1:10 (one part brew to ten parts water) before being applied to flowers, vegetables, or used as a foliage spray. The speaker also suggests two boosters: adding biochar to the brew for extra nutrient retention, and using raw milk (1:10 dilution or undiluted) as a fast‑acting protein‑rich fertilizer. Leftover liquid can be added to a compost pile. The tone is conversational and enthusiastic, with practical tips on containers, timing, odor, and safety.

What if I told you the best fertilizer in your garden is probably growing as weeds right now? Instead of throwing these away, I'm going to show you how to make a quick liquid fertilizer to help feed your garden much-needed nutrients. When you're thinking of plants like comfrey, like the dandelion, plantain, clover, you're talking about plants that are pulling nutrients either from the atmosphere or from the soil. When we soak these plants in water, those nutrients then leak out into the water that we can feed to our gardens. This is one of the oldest natural gardening techniques that cost almost nothing. So all you want to do, you can either get a large 55-gallon barrel that that does not leak, or get a 5-gallon bucket from Tractor Supply. Fill that container halfway with some of these plants that I'm talking about. Fill the rest of the container with water and just let it soak for a couple days. Now, if you have a lid, place a lid on it. If not, no worries, it's still going to do the trick. The longer you can let it sit the better. But this is quick and easy. I recommend not letting it sit more than 3 weeks. I recommend stirring it every other day. And fair warning, it's going to smell bad. How do you know that it's working? Your liquid becomes darker and darker and darker as the days go on. You have your magic juice, and you want to do 1 part magic juice with 10 parts water. You can apply this on your flowers, or if it's in your veggie gardens, go around the plant with this 10:1 ratio mix. There are many other plants that you can use for this fertilizer. This is just what we use because we have these plants in abundance. One way to supercharge this mixture is biochar. Let's say you need to feed your plants or vegetables fast. Another way to make a quick fertilizer is using raw milk. This is packed with proteins, sugars, enzymes, and lactobacillus bacteria that as it breaks down, it's going to feed your plants. Give me some milk! 1 part raw milk to 10 parts water. Some people just pour raw milk as is on their garden and have great success. I like to spread mine out and water it down. And you can go around your plants. The most common use is foliage spray to make it as a spray, dilute it, and spray it right on your leaves. So you're making your weed fertilizer, you've got your raw milk fertilizer. If you have any leftover, Put it on your compost pile. Isn't nature unbelievable? She doesn't waste anything. This is a quick tip for you growers out there. We'll see you on the next one.
