In this presentation, a homeschooling parent describes how they felt unprepared when they first began educating their child and decided to design their own curriculum framework that balances "human fluency"—social, emotional, and creative skills—with "tech fluency," the ability to understand and use technology responsibly. To help other parents replicate this approach, they are creating an AI assistant called Agent KR, which acts as a co‑pilot in the homeschooling journey. When I first started homeschooling my child, it felt like someone threw me the keys and said, "Here, go fly this plane. Good luck." I didn't have any flight training, but I did have a very clear destination. I knew what I wanted for him, and I didn't see it anywhere out there. So I've spent the last few years creating my own flight plan, and it's one that is balanced on what I call human fluency, with tech fluency. And I now really want to share that flight plan with other parents because I want to create a system that will help them to be able to take off on the runway and with the copilot that I needed when I started. That's why I'm building Agent KR. Agent KR is like your AI copilot and kind of like having me with you in the living room to help you navigate this journey. It It will start with walking through what I think are the most fundamental questions of where's your compass pointed? What is success in education for you specifically, for your children, for your family? What is it about them that we need to honor? It will see their strengths and it will help you navigate their challenges. It'll remind you to, hey, get out there and play games and give you suggestions and remind you to read real books and also help you teach AI. It is so important that we can teach kids not only how to use AI, but how to do it ethically. And ethics is just key to what Agent KR is all about. AI alone would be like putting them in this plane and putting it on autopilot. It won't work. So I'm developing the system that will help other parents take off confidently and navigate with clarity. That's reinventing education.
