The Kindness Ripple Effect is Important in TODAY's Times.

Katheline Jean-Pierre revisits why kindness matters: you never know what someone else is carrying. During COVID, isolation showed everyone was struggling with something. Leaders without empathy miss the human context and make worse decisions.
Before I get started, I have an ask. We've had 95,000 downloads in the past 30 days, but only 3% of you follow us, which would help grow our community of growth-oriented kindred souls who are eager to drive impact in their life and their career. Give us a follow on Spotify, Apple, or any platform that you use to listen to your podcast. My personal mission is to be able to bring the light to people who need the light in this world, and I'm putting my 20-year career at your service. So thank you.
Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, Driving Impact Collective! This is Katheline Jean-Pierre, your podcast host. And today we know that the world is going through a lot right now. A lot of people are going through a lot, and many of you, and including yours truly. And I think it's important— this topic that we're going to talk about today is something that I've talked about 2 years ago, and that's very present because there's something that we don't know that's happening in every single one of us and in our life. So there's a clip that I shared 2 years ago that I want to share again today because I think it's important that when we see people, when we meet people, when we encounter people, different souls that we cross into our life, we have no idea what's happening in their life. And just that thought only, and that thought alone, can bring some kindness, can bring some gentleness in our day-to-day life, the way that we drive, the way that we conduct ourselves, the way that we think, the way that we approach our customers, the way that we approach our peers at work. And I really want to invite us all as we walk and live into this world to think about who are we crossing by, who are we talking to, in whose presence are we, and how are we leaving them? How are we thinking about them? And that's really a small thought, but we always need a new reminder because there's so many things happening right now in the world and personally and collectively in the country level that people are not necessarily in their— always in their best selves and not always volunteering that information. So listen to this and let me know what you think in the comments or in the websites or any social media network where you can find me. Okay, let me know what you think.
Empathy, that's important because you don't know what people are dealing with, and you know that some— everybody's dealing with something. During COVID I remember some people have not left their house for 5 months, and if you're a leader who's not self-aware, if you don't have empathy, if you're not able to read the people, you're going to go and, and talk and, and maybe not understand that there's something going on that's more important than just talking about business. So I think having empathy and being able to connect with people, try to understand their world.
Welcome to Driving Impact.
