In this solo episode of the Driving Impact podcast, host Katheline Jean‑Pierre shares her personal journey from a rookie sales associate from Montreal to a top‑tier Fortune 100 sales executive at Google. She recounts her early struggles in 2014, including missing an $80 million sales target and the accompanying self‑doubt, and how a series of strategic moves—quadrupling the business of a key client (Minted), being featured on Google’s shareholder call, and rapidly climbing the corporate ladder—led to her leading the Los Angeles Google agency team and building an innovation hub called the “Superhumans of LA.” Katheline highlights five core lessons: transformation, mindset, and the power of small, stacked experiments. She also details her broader achievements—winning the Outstanding Sales Manager Award (top 1 % of Google employees), growing a $1 billion portfolio, creating the Google Coffee Club leadership program that reached 10,000 women across five continents, and diversifying her income through real‑estate, angel investing, and limited‑partner roles. The episode concludes with a call to action, offering a free e‑book of 25 career‑acceleration goals, encouraging listeners to connect via LinkedIn, email, or the Driving Impact website, and inviting feedback.

Welcome to Driving Impact. Hello, hello, hello, hello, Driving Impact Collective. This is Katheline Jean-Pierre, the podcast host of Driving Impact, the top 5% method. So everyone says dream big, but they never tell you what happens when you actually do. And chasing big dreams is supposed to feel inspiring. I have this image that I'm on a white horse in the mountain, there's snow on top of the mountain, but really it didn't feel like that. It felt terrifying. And if you wanna transform your career and your life, like, listen to this story, my origin story. So here are 5 lessons I've learned going from A rookie to a Fortune 100 sales executive. When I arrived in the Bay Area in 2014, I almost gave up in my first year at Google in the Bay Area, and today I'm so glad I didn't because I had an amazing time at Google. And I was a rookie from Montreal, like I had big dreams and an even bigger accent, and apparently I still have that accent today. In 2014, I landed in Silicon Valley in the Bay Area in California. I I was scared, but at the same time I was ambitious, but I was way out of my league. The first year I missed my sales targets at Google for a target of $80 million. I had sleepless nights, night sweats, and then doubt started creeping in. Then everything started to change. By 2015, I quadruple a major client's business. Yes, it was Minted, who sell the stationery cards for the holidays. I also got featured on Google's shareholder call on that year. I climbed from an account manager to an account executive, to a frontline manager, to a head of sales, to leading the LA Google agency team office, which was exciting. I also built the dream team, which was an innovation hub, and we called ourselves the Superhumans of LA. And as a team, we grew our portfolio to $1 billion. In sales, which was incredible because our year-over-year growth was 3 times the size of our peers. That was a big deal. I personally won over 12+ awards, and the one I'm the most proud of is the Outstanding Sales Manager Award in 2019, which is granted only to the top 1% of Google employees, which is crazy. To this day, this is one of my proudest accomplishments because it meant that the team had learned and was energized by my leadership. And beyond that, on the personal side, I bought multiple homes in California. I built diverse income streams like real estate, tech investments as an angel investor, and then also as a limited partner in a couple of funds. And I created a leadership program that reached 10,000 Google women across 5 continents. And that program was called the Google Coffee Club. How did I do it? One word. Transformation, mindset, and small experiments stacked over time. And today I'm here to help you unlock your inner legend, because that's how I was able to really unlock the titan in me. And if you're ready to slay and soar, yes, let's get started. Download my free ebook that you can find at drivingimpact.kit.com.
