Trust and transparency are a big part of Danish working culture. So much so that we often take them for granted. We assume that a boss will share whatever information possible with the team so that the team understands the rationale for the projects they're working on and the direction the company is going. But this is not universal. We assume that people on the team will share their learning, share their data with their colleagues so that everyone can benefit. But this is not universal either. Some people, based on their home cultures, may be afraid that their colleagues will steal their data and try to take credit for it. Keep this in mind when you are leading a mixed team of Danes and internationals, that there may be differing ideas of what trust and transparency is. And if you have a team member who comes from a place where it is unusual to trust friends or trust the authorities, it may take them longer To begin to trust you.
