Foreign. Welcome back to Leadership in a Nutshell, where we're cracking the code of the driven mind that you and I are gifted with. I'm not even going to say curse. Sometimes I say we're a little cursed with it. I'm not saying that. And I am super fired up to welcome you today to episode 100. That's right, cue the balloons, cue the confetti, cue the fireworks. Boom. Okay. I don't have that kind of a production going on. I'm in my studio today, though, and I just wanted to just celebrate with you here. Today was basically what I'm calling leadership lessons from 100 episodes. I'm really excited and I'm. And I'm honored. I just want to thank you so much for being a part of the Leadership in a Nutshell community and jumping in with us once a week and just challenging yourself and taking a moment to step back and clear some space for your mind, maybe shift your mindset a little bit. Think about your mind of, you know, is it, is it driving you crazy? Is it driving you to success? Is it driving you to happiness? You know, what does that look like? And I, I had the vision for this podcast and I created this podcast, different than most formats, as you know, and I have heard from many of you that you do like the 10 to 15 minute kind of format and just get in, get, get a few things talked about and get out. And so that's what I intend to continue to do. I reserve the right to evol podcast how I choose, but I feel it, I'm just honored. And so I have five things today that I just want to share from my heart that I've learned over the past hundred episodes recording with you. And so five things. Leadership lessons from my first hundred episodes. Number one, stick to your why. And so regardless of the type of business you're in, regardless to where you are in your business career, regardless of your leadership journey, your life, and even if you know you're looking at leading as a family, whatever that is, stick to your why. Because when you constantly kind of go back and revisit your why, it brings you through challenging times, it brings you through the times where you might lack a little bit of motivation. And you know, many people that have seen me speak or join us here on the podcast, or perhaps they're blue collar success members and see me do live events or virtual events or jump on our client calls and different things, a lot of people tend to think that this stuff comes to me naturally. And I would be, I wouldn't be completely clear and honest if I didn't say that. There's times when I've got to dig a little deep to be able to package content or think through things. I don't just sit down at this microphone and riff. It might sound like that a lot of times, but now, as I say that, I also don't over prepare because I like organic and I want to just hang out with you. I hold you in my mind space when we sit down to record, and I picture that we're just having a conversation. And so I might have a couple things jotted down that I want to make sure I talk about, but that's it. And that being said, there's times that I might be traveling, I might be tired, I might be coming off of a client visit or different things where I'm like, man, I need to get in the studio and I need to batch some episodes and connect with you as my audience. And sometimes I flat out feel it more than others. And so when I stick to the why, why am I doing this? Why did I start this now over a hundred weeks ago? We're pushing two years, I suppose, when you think about it like that, I hadn't really thought about that, but we drop once a week and it's been 100 episodes. It doesn't take a rocket science, Kenny. There's the math for you. And so for wherever you are in your leadership life, stick to your why, because there's going to be ups and downs, there's going to be ebbs and flows and challenges and economy wins and pullbacks and wars and pandemics and all these different things. When you stick to the why, it carries you through. So that's one of my top lessons. Number two, consistency is key. Consistency. Doing this week in and week out and connecting with you and having. Having the belief that something that I might say one day might impact you and make a positive influence in your mindset for the day and maybe shift your momentum. As you embrace that and you shift your momentum, then you carry that throughout the rest of your day. And you might impact your circle of influence in a different way, but it takes consistency. I can count about four or five other podcasts that started around the time that we started Leadership in a nutshell. And. And they're long gone. And at the time I started this, podcasting was ramping up. And actually I joked with my team, I'm like, we're way behind the curve. I mean, many podcasts had already started and had hundreds of episodes already, and I'm like, I'm doing it on my time, on my terms, to connect with my audience. That will resonate together. This isn't about me. This is about you and me finding a way to connect with you. And that takes consistency. In some episodes you might be like, eh, that was okay. Some episodes you might be like, damn, that's why I show up, that's why I keep coming. And that takes consistency. So hang in there with me and we'll continue to rock and roll. And I want you to think about your own, your own communication, your own walk, your own journey. Where, where do you need to make sure that you remain consistent, not in the face of insanity. If I absolutely hated doing this, my friend, we would not be having a hundred episode conversation right now. I do enjoy it. I like connecting with you and I like the feedback and I like the ability to influence this platform and in this way. So consistency is critical. When I might have thought about, I don't know if we should continue this or not. Consistency, consistency, consistency, that's the key. So, one, stick to your why. Two, consistency is key in everything you do. Three, influence is invisible. And I thought about, is influence really invisible or just can it be invisible? As a speaker, a coach, a trainer, as an author, you know, as I think about how often influence you don't even know about. And I want you to think about your own influence and your own team and maybe the things that your company does in your front line, the influence they make. And so often we don't even know, my friend, your circle of influence runs so wide and goes so deep that many times you just don't even know. And I've had people reach out to me. I've heard, you know, had friends or colleagues say, you know, oh, so and so told me they were listening to leadership in a nutshell. And this really hit them. And that's one of the kind of, you know, mind screws, if you will, about podcasting is there's not the two way. If we were on a webinar every week doing this, I'd have you type in the chat box. I'd be able to, you know, see you in gallery view and be able to read your physiology and know if you know, if you're connecting with me or if I'm resonating with you. And that doesn't happen here. And so if I'm making an influence, which I've been told that I am, and based on our listenership that continues to grow week by week, I know it's happening. It's just invisible. Sure, I can see downloads and know how many people are joining us by episode, but I don't know how much that impact is. And so the same is true for you as a leader. Sometimes you just. You don't really know. And I want you to remember, just keep doing what you do because you are making an influence, and sometimes it's invisible. Sometimes you just don't see it. Okay, the fourth thing that I wanted to share with you is always protect comparison mindset, man. You've heard me. I've recorded entire episodes around this. I've had this thread through our first hundred episodes countless times. Because comparison mindset is the most destructive mindset on the planet. And you've heard me say that probably here on this platform. If you follow anything else I do, if you read any books that I write, that's so destructive. And it's everywhere with social media and news and all the comparisons. Comparison of whether it's financial status, political party, kind of shoes you wear, kind of car you drive, where you live, so on and so forth, the church you go to. Like, there's all kinds of areas that comparison mindset sneaks in. So for you and your business, just protect that comparison mindset. It's so easy to. To look across the street and see what a competitor's doing or see what somebody's doing on a national scale and compare yourself to it and realize, you know, it's just so destructive. Just focus on you and you want to do, you know, over a hundred episodes. Or I could look at, you know, oh, my gosh, look at other episodes. I don't. I don't make the news like Joe Rogan does, and I don't sit here and smoke dope and do ayahuasca and have all these different things come on to where Spotify wants to cancel me. But Spotify didn't give me a hundred million bucks either. So maybe. Wait a minute, maybe I need to employ some of that. No. Okay, I'm not going to start that. But the point is that, you know, I can look at other podcasts and. And go, well, what about this? What about that? You know, this is a solo CA too. At this point. I haven't even had a guest on, as you know, this is just me connecting with you in the way that I do. And as I have made a conscious decision to not be a road warrior for keynote speaking and training and as blue collar has grown, and I have been blessed with incredible coaches and trainers that can train content that I may have created years ago, that has evolved and developed. And I don't. I'm not on the road as much as I used to. And this gives me an opportunity to connect with you. So, sure, I'll have guests on periodically, from time to time, I'm sure in the future. But to this point and for as far as I can see at the moment, I wanna just connect with you in this way. So I can't really compare this podcast to other podcasts, but boy, my ego wants to. And, oh, you, it should be bigger. It should be more influence. You should be having dough flying off the shelves of, you know, sponsors. And I'm not, you know, I'm not gonna do that to you again. I'm not saying I won't ever have a sponsor on here, but I, I don't see it. I'm not going to talk to you about the Sleep number bed that you ought to have or whatever that might be now watch Sleep number reach out to me. But you know what I'm saying? It's like this is different than anything else because it's me and you connecting in this way. And so why would I compare to something else? The same is true for your business. The same is true for your own leadership. Where you are in your journey, my friend, is exactly where you are supposed to be, where you need to be, and where you are gifted to be. Don't compare yourself to other things. It's just not worth it. And five, the last thing I want to share with you here today is faith in abundance, man. Just have faith in abundance. I can't even quantify how much positive I've been able to deploy and receive from doing 100 episodes of this podcast. And, you know, when I originally launched was like, I'm going to do it as long as it makes sense. And I didn't know if that was going to be 30 episodes or, you know, a lot of podcasts will do a season here or there or they'll do 30 episodes and quit or 50 or maybe 100. And I just, I love the feedback that I get. I love seeing our listenership continue to grow. And I just have faith and abundance that I'll be guided in the right direction and that I'll continue to find the words and the analogies and the metaphors to help you connect in something within you that makes your day a little brighter, that makes your life a little better, that makes your overall human experience a little happier. There's been certainly some revenue that's come from this podcast through different client Acquisition that's happened organically just from people coming in and listening. But more importantly than that, I've really been able to connect with our current clients and been able to connect with so many of you that jump on and listen and some of my own team that finds value from the podcast. Podcast. And so, you know, it kind of ties to number three, that influence is invisible, but have faith in abundance, that you're just headed in the right direction. And, you know, you can think scarcity thoughts, you can think abundant thoughts. And, you know, it's not about, you know, the ostrich approach and all those types of things, but it's about having faith. And faith is a big thing. It's the highest form of trust. And as leaders, I heard a minister say recently that the reality is that business people have some of the highest levels of faith. Faith, kind of regardless of religious denomination, because we have to have faith in our team, and anybody that we delegate to, we have a certain level of faith. A lot of people don't do that, and a lot of people protect their own role and their own tasks and different things like that. If you delegate anything at any time, you got a level of faith there. And in a hundred episodes here with you, I've continued to learn that lesson over and over. And so to recap here today, my friend, stick to your why. Always circle back to your why. Don't forget, consistency is key. Influence is often and almost always invisible. You might get certain areas that you know and you get to see your influence, but more often than not, the bigger part of that is invisible. The fourth thing, protect your comparison mindset. Stay away from that as much as you possibly can. Ego's gonna want to sneak in and compare and divide and all those things. Just be mindful of that. That and number five, have faith in abundance. It's just such a gift to be able to take this walk with you. And 100 episodes in. I just. I was thinking about what I wanted to speak to you about this week, and I said, you know, it's episode 100. What should I do? Should I have a big celebrity guest? Should I do, you know, have some crazy thing? You heard the confetti and fireworks earlier, right? Oh, yeah. Still. Still not a big production here. But the point is, I just want. I said, you know what? It's 100 episodes. I'm personally proud of this, and I also am proud of you for continuing to show up week after week and just get a little shot in the arm, a little change of mindset, a little questioning your own thoughts, your own beliefs, to continue to elevate and increase your consciousness level to ultimately embrace a happier life. And that's what you're here for, my friend. Those are my five leadership lessons from 100 episodes here with you. Thank you so much. Do me a favor and share this with somebody.
