Hi, I'm Kenston Henderson, CSP EPIC Experiences. I'm here to speak with you about how to reduce your stress in the workplace and even at home. You see, stress happens to us whether we like it or not. Stress goes wherever we go. When we go to work, it's coming. When we go home, it's there too. Stress happens even when we go to sleep. It happens when we wake up. So you see, we can't run from stress. No, we can't even hide from stress. But what we can do is manage our stress. What we can do is sometimes eliminate those things that are causing us anxiety, that are causing us aches and pains throughout our body. We can do that. And with these 5 tips, I'm gonna show you how to do just that, reduce and even eliminate. Step 1 will be to acknowledge that you do have stress. Yes, I have stress. See, that wasn't hard. The next part of that is identify what is causing you to stress. Do you have too many projects that you're assigned to. That could cause anxiety. That could cause some worry. And at the end of the day, it could cause you to complain. Yes, stress is all a part of that. So that's why it's so important that we deal with it. So write them— take a moment and write those down. Step 2, determine whether or not you can handle those stressors alone. Or if you need to, phone a friend. There's nothing wrong with phoning a friend. That could come as a life coach, a health coach, a finance coach. The main thing is that you make sure that you do not keep living with stress. So call someone. I know I had to get a financial coach because I incurred a bill that I wasn't expecting, and that financial coach was there to help me find out a way so I can eliminate that debt and still live comfortably. That's what a coach can do for you too. Thirdly, have a well-balanced diet. See, if you're stressed already, eating any fatty foods, salty foods, or sugary foods will only add to the stress. And so therefore, it's not working for you. You can also implement an exercise regimen. Now, you don't have to exercise every day, but you should get some type of cardio within every day of the week, whether it's 10 minutes or 15 minutes, whether it's just walking around the office on your break, or walking around the house in your home, up and down the stairs. That's a good exercise. Fourth thing is— one of the things I love is music. See, music makes the world go round. Music has the ability to calm the storms. In your life. Music has the ability to encourage you whenever you receive a maybe not so good email or phone call from an unhappy customer. And so what I do is, just to show you, is I turn on this song to make sure that I'm not in a funk when I see an email that doesn't agree I need something to get me out of that so that way I can go back to the customer in the right frame of mind. See, because that can stress you out. But again, it's about how you deal with it, how you manage it. And music is that thing that can help you manage your stress. Get a set playlist of your favorite songs. That you love and have them ready for those stressful moments. The fifth thing is having the right mindset, the mindset of thankfulness, of gratefulness, where you're able to think about the good things when you are stressed. And that's a beautiful thing to have. And whether that looks like setting up pictures around your cubicle or in your office or at home in your bedroom, finding things to be thankful about helps reduce that stress. So be thankful because everything may not be right in your life, but everything will be okay. But it all starts with your thinking. You know what? I'm feeling generous today, and I want to give you one more tip to help you along this journey. And that tip is just simply to celebrate, celebrate. We have to celebrate every win that we have. And what I mean by that is you wrote a list of your stressors. Every time you cross one of those stressors out, you need to celebrate. You need to party. You need to be excited because that is one less thing that will bound you with worry, with anxiety, with negative impact. And by you eliminating these stressors, you're going to be— become an even more likable person. You're going to be the person that people want to be around because you're so positive. Now you're thinking positive. Now you're speaking positive. And that's what it's all about, is eliminating those negative stressors in our lives. So I hope you enjoyed yourself and I hope you learned something because I want you to live stress-free as much as possible. We can do it. We will do it.
