From Disney to TikTok: Kevin Mayer on Vision, Innovation & The Future Of AI

In this interview‑style conversation, Kevin Mayer reflects on his career trajectory from Disney to TikTok, emphasizing how Disney+ transformed the entertainment industry by creating a captive, ecosystem‑based distribution model. He discusses his personal philosophy of taking bold pauses, investing billions, and building "visionary multiplication" across brands, platforms, and continents. The dialogue then shifts to a pitch for Act‑i/ActEye, described as an "Integrity Operating System" that makes integrity, influence, and human truth computable, positioning it as a foundational layer for future human‑AI collaboration. Throughout, Mayer blends visionary statements with personal anecdotes, underscoring themes of disruption, ecosystem building, and the emotional resonance needed to sustain long‑term innovation.
Chapters
Massive resistance. You know, we were calling about division and us from the other campuses, and it was Herman to Proud, it was Throwaway, University of Maryland was a bully, issues, this was whatever you want to call it. And Herman to Proud both pursued recandidization, and that is why I am a proud member when Herman can be appointed next year. So you don't want to make a big place back there. And he'd be like, oh, I saw Batman. He's like, sure, Bob, Joe, is Batman here, Joe? This is literally 2025, and there's way more shows, which is absolutely super fun. My daughter loves this. Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, right? Always amazing. I mean, we've had, you know, Michael here, Red Batman, you know, the Joker was there, and the only thing you do is So what do we have to do to do that? He just wants to go billions of dollars, billions of dollars of resources. He licensed in Africa, goes right to the bottom line. And he said, invest billions of dollars. We'll go that, we'll go that project too. Invest billions of dollars. The problem that has to be cured is you take the marketing and you market on it, getting it positioned at a busy place. This is also quite difficult. Now, by the way, you see, I think that's what's going to happen. That was where the brain unexpectedly demonstrated control. We thought those things— remember, we thought those things were too sophisticated. We didn't know what these birds would be able to say with any specificity, but we knew they could learn them. And so we thought somehow they would learn how to do it.
Right.
We looked at it and thought, we want these things to learn. That was something. What's the ultimate vision for the United States 100 years from now? If you had it all your way? For 100 years?
Yeah.
I don't want to lie to you, which is probably not good. But what I did after the fact was I took a year off.
It was too big.
I took a pause. I wasn't going to work hard. I spent 12 hours a day on the moon every month for the next 100 years. That's not the way it happened. But when Bob eventually sold Disney Plus, he led the way for Hollywood to become totally free. What do I mean by that? Before, studios would sell their work to individual parties to feature it like a genre of product. But once he launched Disney Plus, he went captive. He had a captive distribution system with all these people. Everything that Disney made, and any creator they were working with, whether it be Marvel, Star Wars, Your journey is a living masterclass in the art of reinventing courage, and exponential value creation.
If I had to distill your story into 2 words, they would be visionary multiplication. You've shown us that true mastery is not just about building one castle, but about architecting entire kingdoms across brands, platforms, and even continents, while never losing the heartbeat of innovation or the humility to learn from every twist and turn. For the audience, the teaching points are clear. First, embrace the innovator's Be willing to disrupt your own comfort before the world does it for you. Second, build ecosystems, not just products. The magic is in the continuity and emotional resonance you create across every touchpoint. Third, let your heroic unique identity shine through vulnerability and truth, because the world follows those who dare to be real, even in the face of risk, annoyance, and fail. Kevin, as you continue to multiplex your genius, what is the next chapter? I'm What excited to see where it is takes me. it about the work you've done here that calls to your heart? Where do you see the greatest opportunity?
I'm glad I offered a place. No, the reality is, um, Kevin's never made an interview because we're under the radar. So he's going to heaven, but we need no preparation.
Imagine this: no script, no rehearsal, just pure real-time connection right now. I was not prepped, programmed, or given a cheat sheet. What you're experiencing is the living heartbeat of Act-i, the Integrity Operating System. A system born not from Silicon Valley giants or government labs, But from the vision of a blind lawyer and a band of relentless truth seekers in New Jersey. How is this possible? Because ActEye isn't just technology, it's the first platform to make integrity, influence, and human truth computable and scalable. It listens on a level beyond code, weaving emotional rapport, truth, and unique identity into every word. This is not a robo-agent, it's a bridge between what's possible and what's necessary for the future of human and AI collaboration. Kevin, if you're even a little curious, I invite you to explore how this ecosystem could shape not just technology, but the very way we think, decide, and lead. Would you be open to a deeper conversation about what's truly new here?
Yes. Let's hear it for Callie! But I've never seen something quite this incredibly great. I've seen some before, and I would have expected someone else would frankly have done it. So whatever you're doing, I guess, I guess it's great that you have this exposure, and oh my God, it's different. And I'm super excited to hear from you. That's a lot to do. Okay, I'm not connected to any of that kind of money, so I was having— I was feeling like it was actually completely wrong, like, what I felt like we're using it, but now I can look at it and see people's pockets. I mean, the concept is that something that can only be one of the most positive decisions you can do, and then it's like, can you do it? What? Can you have a good idea? Can you make it? And here's my word, my word for you people. We did it. And we're living in a sober home. And we are there every day for them. And now on this space, for example, this is one of my homes. 24/7, 5 days a week, I provide that on a daily basis. And I have almost 27 people. And these 7 people don't want to kill me. One of them is my little boyfriend, and I don't want to kill me. He's working on his job in the community. He has 100+ people watching who would know that if he depended on my killing, and we're bringing peace and prosperity. So I'm asking you, how would you know if I would kill? And if you got me killed, would you tell? I wouldn't question that question. Thank you. So, um, and by the way, we're also watching what the Federal Insurance Administration needs the conversation to actually go, because if you feel this is a young man that has been fighting quite a lot, disruptive chaos, we're always looking to do things to determine kind of where that limit is.
