This is a YouTube video titled "Why Truv? Hear from GA DHS" featuring a detailed testimonial from the Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Quality and Vendor Relations in Georgia. The speaker discusses the state's use of the TRUV widget in their customer portal to verify income for benefits applications, highlighting improvements in processing speed, cost reduction, and plans for future feature expansions. The content is a monologue focused on the implementation and benefits of TRUV in public assistance programs in Georgia.
I'm the Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Quality and Vendor Relations in the state of Georgia. I work with a lot of our vendors around enhancing our capabilities around interfaces. Anything to gain more capacity. Currently we serve 1.4 million families in Georgia. Georgia processes around 3.5 million applications and renewals per year. We use TRUV as part of our customer portal where applicant comes in and applies for benefits with the state. They are presented with the option of using the TRUV widget to verify their income. We're using it with our snap, our TANF and our Medicaid populations. The issues we ran into before coming to True is a lot of information we were receiving was after the customer submitted their information. So if there was questions that arose from that information, we had to follow up with the customer. We changed our approach to how we verify information. We engaged with several vendors to develop a hierarchy of how we ping our interfaces based on cost and we selected Troo to be a partner in this. Since we started with Troo, we have presented the opportunity for our customers to verify their information up front when they're applying for benefits. Whereas in the past we used data collection where a caseworker would go in and review the income and pull DOL or other income verifications. So with using truv, this allows for quicker processing and ability to assess what the state will be using for their verification. In our partnership with Troop, a significant financial impact on the verification. With troo, it's been a significant decrease in cost per hit. The big player in the system really has a lockdown on a lot of data and so I think that's the drawback of something else. But the cost makes you want to use these services before you go to that vendor. In Georgia, we hope to expand our features with using TRUE to include the gig economy and then looking at some of the integrations around asset verification. Their customer service has been great. Their integration team went in and we had no issues to note and it's been a great partnership so far.
