Hello. Growing up, my mom often said, "先捡大石头," which directly translates to "pick up the big stones first." Figuratively, it means to take care of the most important tasks before anything else. If you were to apply this mindset to your life as a whole, what would your big stones be? Would you prioritize your career or education? Would you prioritize your relationships? Or is it something else entirely different? The idea is simple though. When you handle what matters most first, everything else has an easier place to fall into. And once the big stones are set in place, the smaller ones such as daily tasks, minor worries, or social distractions— the small stuff— they can fill in the gaps. But if you start with the small rocks, you'll find there's no room left for what truly matters. It's not always easy to identify your big stones, and for me, I'm always learning what the big stones are because life is always changing. It's moving very fast. So what felt urgent last year might not apply to this year. And that's why it helps to pause and ask yourself from time to time, What deserves my focus right now? What actions will move the needle, not just today, but in the long run? When you get clear on that, your days start to feel less scattered and more aligned. You're not just reacting to life, you're building it stone by stone.
