In this video Laurence Edwards reviews the Abello honey warming cabinets, explaining why he replaced his homemade unit after a honey spill and space‑efficiency issues. He describes the three sizes offered (tall, medium, small), detailing how bucket capacity varies with bucket dimensions—standard 30 lb buckets versus narrower 35 lb buckets—and notes that the tall units are actually 1 kW rather than the advertised 2 kW, offering significant energy savings. Edwards praises the build quality: full stainless‑steel interior, stainless screws, racks, and hinges, and highlights the robust packaging. He demonstrates the simple controls (on/off button, temperature setting up to 55 °C) and walks through the medium cabinet’s interior, showing adjustable stainless‑steel racks, a fan, and a tight door seal. After several months of use, he recommends the cabinets as high‑quality, efficient, and easy‑to‑use solutions for warming honey before jarring, and briefly mentions a method for making soft‑set honey.

In this video, I'm gonna show you my brand new honey warming cabinets from Abello. So if you follow this channel, you'll know that I had a pretty good honey warming cabinet. I built it myself, STC controllers, house and heating tubes, loads of insulation, and I completely ripped it out. Problem that I had is that I leaked honey all over it. A whole bucket of honey went over it and it just completely ruined it. But the bigger problem that I had is that the way that I'd built that unit wasn't very efficient in terms of the space that was being used. And also in terms of controlling the temperature, It was relatively good at controlling the temperature, but I was always a little bit worried that my own wiring was gonna, I don't know, set fire to the log cabin or something. So I wanted a fully ready-made unit, 2 to go in the honey extraction room, but also one to keep at my house as a bit of a contingency unit. So I'm going to show you both of these in this video. I paid for these myself. I got them direct from Abello. They import them from a company in Poland. I've got 2 of the tall cabinet heaters, one of the medium cabinet heaters, And I'm even tempted to get one of the smaller ones as well. So they do 3 different sizes. In terms of the sizes, it's a little bit unclear on the Abelo website as to how many buckets each of these units will hold. And I can understand why, because it is completely dependent on the size of buckets that you actually use in your beekeeping operation. So the standard 30-pound wide buckets, you do struggle to get 2 of them on a shelf. So you're really restricted to 1 per shelf. And in my experience, when you're using that, you get 1 per shelf, you can get 7 shelves high. So in the tall ones, you can get 7 buckets. However, we don't use the standard buckets. We use a 35-pound bucket, which is quite a lot narrower than the standard 30-pound bucket, but a little bit taller as well. So we find we can get 2 per row using the thinner 35-pound buckets, and then you can only get them 6 high. That's a really big increase though. That means we can get 12 buckets per unit. So when we've got the 2 units running at once, we can get 24 buckets warmed up and ready for jarring. Another big thing that I wasn't aware of, because I think there might have been an error on the website which might have been changed now, is originally it said that the tall units were 2 kilowatts When in fact they're only 1 kilowatt each, which is a really big energy saving, especially in today's crazy electricity prices. The smaller unit that I've got, which is the medium unit, I can get 2 rows of 2 buckets in there, so I can get 4 buckets. And then in the smallest of all of them, you can get 2 buckets. I am absolutely delighted with the quality of these purchases though. You should see how well they were wrapped when they turned up. There was almost more packaging than there was warming cabinet. But the quality, the fit and the finish really is exceptional. It's got a full stainless steel interior, All of the screws are stainless steel. All of the racks are stainless steel. You can just tell by the touch and feel of the unit that it is such high quality. It's the most simple device in the world to use as well. You just turn the button on, select your temperature. It'll go up to a maximum of 55 degrees Celsius, which we don't need to go anywhere near that high, but it's nice to have the flexibility for that stubborn honey that's not gonna melt down. And I'm just generally over the moon with all of these units. So in this video, I'm just gonna give you a quick look inside the medium unit that I've got here. But if you're looking for a honey warming cabinet, I paid full price for these products. I've used them for a good couple of months now, and I can safely say they are highly recommended by me. So let's go and take a look at the medium warming cabinet that's in my downstairs honey room. So you have to excuse the poor quality, it's very dark in this room here. As you can see, you get a really nice wooden finish on the unit. Take a look at the controls there, you get really nice simple controls. You've just got a power button there that turns it on. You can hear it come straight on like that, and then you can just set it to whatever temperature you want. Really simple. And then you don't need to press anything else, and that's it done. So all the way around the edge you've got this really really nice solid metal trim goes all the way down there. The finish of the wood is really nice as well. It's kind of like 1990s office furniture, but you know, it's a good quality fake wood. Be really clean, nice and easy to wipe. Door, very nice quality handle. I really like this. It gives you a good positive seal. Make sure that it's going to be really nicely insulated and not let any of that heat out. And then all the way around the door here, you can see you've got that nice seal that's going to keep all that heat in. You've got good quality stainless steel hinges. Inside you've got stainless steel rack, 2 racks with this medium version. You've got a fan there, nice loud, probably a computer fan. All of these racks here, they're fully adjustable so you can change that up. You can buy additional racks from Abello as well, not sure of the price, but as you can see in this one, you've got plenty of space to get 4 buckets of honey and it's a very efficient and effective honey warming cabinet. So there we go, that's the first look at the Abello honey warming cabinets. If you're interested in making soft set honey, check out out this method here where I show you how to make soft-set honey using a stainless steel drill bit.
