Bees run out of stored honey by March and need feeding. This hive is halfway through a slab of fondant, and the beekeeper will add another once it's gone to keep the colony alive until flowers bloom.

These bees are really, really enjoying their fondant. Probably about halfway through now. I think I'm going to get another slab on when they finish this one.
