Heavy Duty Hive Stands

A beekeeper builds a heavy-duty hive stand from timber and carbon-steel plate, 4.8 meters long with adjustable legs and handles. It's been tested to hold a metric ton and stays level on uneven ground. The creator stands on the cantilever with 100 kg to prove it works.

But wait until you see this. So much interest from people yesterday, and that is because I have given this Abello hive stand a heavy-duty makeover. And as always, when I say that I have done it, I have done nothing. But we have done it up here. We've been playing around with it, some people who know what they're doing, cutting, grinding, and welding steel. And we've even got some galvanized paint on there as well. So what we have done is remove the box section. The box section is gone, and we've added on a carbon steel plate here, and we put some bolts on there as well. The strength and everything that you get in Normal hive stand is there, and I'll even kind of like jump up on it. I've had it over there before, and it is rock solid. I've tested it with a metric ton. But this hive stand here is so different from the other ones now. It is 4.8 meters long. The other one was 2.4 meters long. The cantilever on this one here is pretty extreme. I'm like 100 kilos, and you can see I'm standing on the cantilever. And it's not going. If I went a little bit further, we'd probably get it to move, but we won't. So this becomes bombproof. It's made with 6x2 timber, and it's also got the best party trick in the world, which is— Don't fall over. It's got its own set of handles. So you can move it around like that, 4.8 meters long, and you can turn it. But then this is what makes this hive stand so brilliant. Look how ridiculously out of level that is. If I come around here, change up some of these legs, You have to do it in a slight sequence. I'm back on it again. I love this hive stand. Maybe not for everyone, but for bee farmers, this is pretty much perfect.
