In this bite‑sized episode of No Nonsense Beekeeping, Laurence Edwards (Black Mountain Honey) steps away from beekeeping to demonstrate how to professionally brand postal packaging using custom‑made rubber stamps. He begins with a clear disclaimer that the review is unpaid and the products were purchased by him. Edwards showcases stamps he ordered from StampIt.co.uk for his own brands (Black Mountain Honey, Hot Fire Honey) and a personal Royal Mail address stamp, explaining the variety of options available – different sizes, positive vs. negative impressions, roller stamps, and material choices such as premium or recycled wood. He walks through the practical stamping process: acquiring an ink pad, preparing a flat surface (using a poly sheet), applying ink, pressing the stamp firmly, and using a rocking motion for larger or roller stamps. He notes the differences in ink pickup between positive and negative stamps, showing examples of each and discussing the slight mottled effect of negatives. Edwards also recommends Kite Packaging as his source for brown paper boxes, praising their service and noting that he pays for the boxes. Throughout, he highlights the high quality, reasonable pricing, and responsive customer service of both suppliers. The video concludes with a brief teaser about upcoming business‑focused content, a call to subscribe, and a reminder of the branding benefits of stamped packaging for a professional appearance.

Hi, I'm Laurence Edwards from Black Mountain Honey. Welcome to another episode of No Nonsense Beekeeping and a super short Bite-Sized Bees. So today's video, nothing to do with bees at all. We're talking about custom-made rubber stamps and how to brand up postal packaging to make it look really professional. So if you look through some of my previous videos, we've spoken about product packaging and you've seen some of these products before. What I wanted to do though is put all of this into a video and give the guys who make these things a little bit of advertising, 'cause I think they're a really good company. Disclaimers out of the way, I'm not paid for the review, the products weren't provided free of charge, and the company has no idea that I'm doing this review. So what we're talking about today is custom-made rubber stamps. And I've got loads of these. I've got one from our new company, Hot Fire Honey. I've got one for Black Mountain Honey. And then I've got one that I use for my Royal Mail, so it's just my address and my phone number. and I stick that on all the manifest documents. Now these are great, they're such good quality, and they're at a really reasonable price as well. So all I'm going to do in this video, show you a few pictures of them, show you the level of detail that you can get out of them. I'll stick up some links to the company, you can go away, get your stamps made, and brand up your postal boxes to make them look really, really professional. So I buy all of my boxes from Kite Packaging. I get loads of queries about this, it's probably one of the number one questions I get asked is, where do you get your brown paper boxes to send honey out in? I get them from Kite Packaging. Packaging. Really good company to deal with. Again, I pay for the boxes, they're not free of charge. And then all of my stamps come from a company called Stamp It. So when you're doing your order with them, you, you can choose any different size of stamp. They do big roller stamps like this, all different size stamps. You can get them with premium wood, recycled wood, tons of different options. But what is so good is that they give you a custom-made rubber impression of your logo or any text that you want. And I'm just amazed at the level of quality that you can get in these stamps. It really is exceptional. I couldn't believe this first one I got, Black Mountain Honey, and it just came out perfectly like the logo. It gives you such a good impression. You do need to make sure you do it on a flat surface. This is why I've got the poly underneath, and you just need to give it a really good push. So I'm just going to show you how they come out. They're really good, they're really professional, and they make the postal packaging so much better for people to receive in the post. So one thing to note when you buy them, they don't come with an ink pad, so you need to get yourself an ink pad. They're about £20. Make sure you get the right colour for yourself, and then you just take your stamp, give it a nice push in the ink like that, and then give it a really nice push down. And that's it, simple as that. We do hundreds of these every single time, do a nice new stamp, really clean impression of the stamp. So then as you move up through the sizes, and they do absolute monster stamps here. You can get what's called a roller stamp. So they do recommend when you go past a certain size, it's best to get a roller one to get a good impression. This one here is what's called a negative stamp, so it's got a big block of black and then it leaves out the impression for, for the Hot Fire Honey logo. I did have that as a full block all the way around, and they rung me up and said, oh, we can't actually produce that, it's not going to give you the best quality, we recommend doing something else. So really good customer service from them, not just blindly printing what I sent them in the logo. They actually looked at it, reviewed it, and sent me back something that would work. So what they did say is when you're doing a negative like this, the ink pickup isn't as good. So that one, so the Black Mountain Honey one, that is a full positive print, and then this one's a mixture of the two. So you've got a positive print and a negative print, and the negative print is just not quite as good in terms of picking up the ink, but it's still a really, really nice style, and I'll show you that one now. So I find with this Big Hot Fire Honey one, I like to push it in a few times, get a really nice amount of ink on it. I do a few dabs on it as well. And then when I go in, I give it a really good bit of welly, make sure I get a good impression, and I just do a gentle rock on it as well. And then that brings out a really nice clean impression. And you can see on this image here, you just get that slight mottled effect on the negative where it's not picking up the ink perfectly. And I think for my brand, that works really, really well. I'm so happy with this. But if you need a perfectly clear image you want to go for a positive print like that one there, so you're not doing any negatives, a full positive print. And then the final one I want to show you, I use this for my little tags for my Royal Mail business account. Really, really big time saver, this one. Again, you just stamp it on and you can get it printed out like that. This one's great, doesn't use much ink, so you can do numerous prints in a row. Obviously the ink fades after about 3 goes, but then you can just keep on going in, doing 3 in a row like that. And that's it. You get a really good impression, really clear. Big, big time saver. So there you go, that's the video. Custom-made stamps from a company called stampit.co.uk, highly recommended by me. Haven't provided me with the products free of charge, haven't paid me for the review. I paid for everything here myself. It's just a company that I've used that's given me really good customer service over the years, and I thought they deserved a shout out. And it's surprising the amount of people that ask me that question, which is How do you get your boxes looking the way you do? Where do you get your packaging? How do you stamp them up? So I thought I'd do a video shouting out both of those companies, Kite Packaging and stampit.co.uk, to give them my endorsement and tell you how good they are. So something a little bit different for you today. I'm going to do a few more of these videos. People are very interested in the business side of things.
