So we are live at the Telford International Centre, the Beekeeping Show 2024. In this video, I'm going to give you a sneak preview of what's going on. Like, it's chaos here. Everybody's trying to get ready. I have been going around and chatting to lots and lots of people this morning and this afternoon and trying to kind of understand how, like, difficult it is to get this show working. But what I need from somebody before I continue any further is for somebody to try and give me a heads up and say that they can hear me talking, because I do this every single time and then I just can't work out if it's actually going ahead. So it would be much, much appreciated if somebody can just come on and say yes, they can hear me. But until we get to that point, I'm just going to assume that everything is good to go. So what have we got at the 2024 Beekeeping Show? We have got absolutely everything that was at the 2023 Beekeeping Show, plus about 40% more space and I don't know whether it's smaller or it's bigger in here, but you know what, there's definitely more people here. There's more manufacturers here. So I'm looking around now. We've got Bellow, we've got the NBU, so we've got the Animal Plant and Health Agency, BB Wear, BJ Sheriff, Simon the Beekeeper, Bees Abroad, Hive Alive, Thorns, BS Honeybee, Paynes, someone walking in the background, Connigan, Wainwrights, Thorns. Anybody who is anybody in the beekeeping world is here. And I'm here as well, just some random guy who's talking to a few people on YouTube. So let's go around and have a look and see what people have brought. So the first thing that I'm going to show you, and this is just going to be like impossible me walking around, how about that? Here we go. Is the coffee machine. There we go. We've got a coffee machine over there. I should have kind of practiced this really a little bit. It's kind of— if anyone's seen Peep Show, this is a little bit what they do in Peep Show, like running around. But this is probably one of my favorite stalls from the last time. Right, let me set up here. So it's Wainwrights, and they are the bee farmer, the people who came up with the idea of like crunchy heather honey. Absolutely love that marketing, it's brilliant. But what they brought is like some selection of their honeys. I'm just gonna go and grab a jar of their honey, one sec. You can still hear me talking about this now, right? 2 jars of honey. I love trying different honeys. So what they've got here, this is brilliant, they've got Wainwrights Ukrainian sunflower honey. I wish they were here. I would crack it open and I would just be having a little bit of a taste. And then this one's even crazier. So you've got Wainwright's Bees Farm, and then you've got Magic Honey. What is that? In the Miombo Forest of northwest Zambia, the population relies on traditional medicine. This particular honey is used when suffering from chest complaints. I'm gonna get some more honey and see what other honeys they've got here. Uh, right, let's pick out a couple of these other ones. I know everyone comes to the beekeeping show to kind of like buy— you come here to buy frames and extractors and stuff like that, and it's always the honeys that sell out really, really quickly. So you've got Wainwright's Organic Forest Zambian Honey, and then this next one here is called Mathafarn, and that one says dark rich honey from spring flowers, dandelions, hawthorn, and sycamore with maybe some bluebells. That one's a bit more run-of-the-mill, but it does look really, really nice. So I'm going to put these honeys back. But it is really cool. Like, I absolutely love the fact that they bring the honeys there. Sorry for any background noise here. Like, it's just chaos. Absolute chaos. People trying to run in and bring stuff in. Right, let me turn you around. This is going to be a quick turnaround here. So a new stall holder here. So this is Old Castle Farm Hives. They brought all of their Conaghan line of equipment here. Loads of Connegan stuff behind me. It's what I like about the beekeeping show. It brings everyone together, and I think people would have seen what happened last year and thought, you know what? I want to be a part of that. It is probably like the biggest beekeeping trade show in the UK. Like I can't think of another one that's any bigger than this, and for me it's just like ideally located as well. It's like the absolute perfect location. Right, so I'm going to have a wander round. Someone's saying get me a jar. I would I would. I might buy some of that, sell it on. I'm only joking. Right, let's have a look. Right. So we've got— sorry, shaky footage. You know, we're just going to have to deal with that here. What we have got behind me here is a company called Thermomite, and I've already set up to do kind of like a video with these guys. The idea behind this is that you can control varroa with no chemicals whatsoever and no kind of like mechanical means either. So you're not like uncapping drone brood and chucking out the drones to control the varroa population. but you are heating them up with pads. So they've said I can have a go, they can give me some stuff and I'll try it throughout the year. Probably run this one over like 2 or 3 seasons to see if you can get like a noticeable drop in varroa, but like a management technique that revolves kind of around these heating pads as opposed to doing anything else. We've got Becky's Bees next door. I'm doing something with Becky's Bees tomorrow. So what we're doing at the beekeeping show, new for 2024, is a live demo. Now People might be a little bit confused there because you might have seen a live stream pop up saying we're going to be doing a live stream at the beekeeping show. Why is it 24 hours in advance? So this one here was unplanned. Sorry, I know I said I'd plan them a little bit better, but there was no way I could have planned this evening's because I didn't know what time I was going to kind of get here and what time I could actually do the stream. But the one tomorrow planned for half 1 is going to be me in like a lecture theater doing a demo. So Becky's Bees are going to be there, Angarad from Gwyddig Rifff is going to be there. Sorry if I butchered the pronunciation there. Who else is going to be there? Andy Wottom from the MBU. And then the first one is— I forget the first person's name, but he's probably doing the best one, which is he's going to be making a beehive and kind of going through like the pitfalls of making a beehive. I'm going to livestream that, and what I'm going to do is I'm going to stitch it all together with Q&A so people can ask questions the whole time. I'm not going to be able to monitor the chat or the live stream for questions, but you're going to see all the questions that come in from the audience. And, you know, it's going to probably be carnage, but it's going to be a lot of good fun. And I just thought that would be nice to bring it to the, the viewers of the channel as well. You know, if you can't make it here for, for one reason or another, hopefully I'm bringing a little bit of the beekeeping show to you wherever you are. Right, let's go and have a look at some other stuff. So it doesn't matter where you are in the world, whether you're in America or kind of Canada— so this is the USA or Canada or France or the UK— there will be a Hyva Live stand there. 100%, there'll be a Hyva Live stand there. And I really like, I really like Hyva Live. It's a, it's a product that is, for me, the best, the biggest benefit of Hyva Live is that if you put it into your feed, stops the feed going mouldy. And like, I like it for that sole reason as well. Obviously it's sold on the promise that it's like seaweed extract, it's good for your bees. Whenever I feed my bees with Hive Alive, they always do well, but I kind of use it just for the regulated thymol that goes in it to stop it going off. I like Hive Alive, I like the fondant, I like most of the products that they do, but you see them absolutely everywhere. So I'm just wandering around. I'll try and be as quick as I can between each stop. So next stop here. Oh, there we go. I just jumped out of the way. BS Honeybees. BS Honeybees. I was saying I did a video with them previously. They bring one thing. They don't bring a selection of everything to the store. Every one thing, and they sell it out absolutely like without a doubt. Like the first people to sell out is the BS Honeybees nucs. Chatted to them earlier about their. their new property, like their new farm that they've had now for a couple of years, or the land that they built their units on. And like speaking about the cost of poly increasing, but it's good. Like, I really do like the BS Honeybees nucs, very, very good quality nucs. I'm going to go on to the next one now, just trying to give you like a bit of a whistle-stop tour of what is available. So next one we've got Ambrosia, but I think this is a continuation of the Modern Beekeeping store. So Modern Beekeeping, the owner Paul Beardmore, he used to be part of the, the 3 people who owned the beekeeping show, and it's changed a little bit now. So there's only 2 people that own it, and Paul is taking a much more active role in like the selling. So he has pretty much doubled his space. So he's got like Ambrosia here, and then he's got Zucchin feeds next to him, and then he's got his polyhives. Now Paul has promised me 100% this year, and I believe him. He is going to give me a smart beehive, the Paradise Smart Beehive, which is a contender to the Flow Hive. And having seen it and like kind of looked at it in action, I think it might kind of, it might take down the Flow Hive. I don't know, I don't know. I don't want to, I don't want to preempt my bet, but it is really, really good. So we're going to be doing lots and lots of videos on that this year. I've been given loads of new products this year, really, really have. Like, I've been given the Nucci Hive, I've been given the Smart Paradise Beehive, I've been given the TechnoSet Queen Rearing Hive. I've just been given some kind of stainless steel over there as well, like for making floors. Like, I'm incredibly lucky to be in the position that I get given all of this good stuff. And I like to kind of, you know, I'll do loads of videos on it and I'll tell you what's good, I'll tell you what's bad. I'll never sugarcoat it at all. But I do feel incredibly privileged, like coming to these events and being, you know, getting treated well, but being given free stuff. It's brilliant. I love it. Obviously, the people get something out of it as well. They get a nice cool video. But let's go and look at some really really cool stuff now. So another one of the ever presents there are literally at every single like event that you go to is Suyenti. Like when I was in the B Expo in America, they were there. I've seen pictures of the event in Calgary; they were there. What a great life that would be, just kind of like jet-setting around the world selling what is very, very good equipment. But it's always nice that they're here. Like, this wasn't always the way in the UK. Um, to get the European manufacturers over here post-Brexit was a real, real challenge, but it seems that the Beekeeping Show have managed to fix that now, completely fix it. And every single time— um, Jay's just put me off there because he's just said no anal hives. You know, you know what you mean there. It's very funny. Um, I'll show you the anal hives in a little bit. The Anel hives are here, um, with Griff on the stall. I've got a really good secret about Griff that, uh, you, you will find out when you watch the full Beekeeping Show video. Wait, wait until you see the picture I've got of Griff. It's absolutely brilliant. Um, are you throwing me now? I don't know where I was. Okay, yeah, I was talking about sweet extraction equipment and I started talking about beekeeping equipment. Um, right, let's go and have a look at some other stuff then. So we've got Modern Beekeeping over there. I had a good chat with Murray before. So Murray McGregor's here. I had to insist that he came on and did like a little chat for the channel. He didn't want to do the livestream, fair enough, but he is here. If you see like a pink hat bobbling around over there. Yeah, I know he's hiding. No, he's gone. He's gone. But anyway, behind me here, so this is Murray's stand. All of the Demrose equipment. The Jolanta's here as well. I stopped calling her Jolanta. I got told off for doing that. But yeah, Jolanta's here. All of the queen rearing stuff. All of the frames that he does, sold kind of here at the Beekeeping Show, but also sold like via third parties as well. I'll plug Griff there again for that one. If you want to buy Murray's third-party frames, assembled frames wired up with foundation, you can get them directly from Griff. He does a really good job. Jay, you are genuinely the most generous person in the world. Like, I, I don't expect you to do that, but you kind of give me tips every time. So really massive thank you to you. I've just seen other comments on there as well, saying like people may be pleased to come and meet me tomorrow. Just come and say hello. Like tomorrow is going to be carnage. No one's going to be able to move. Everyone's going to be like jostling for the best deals. But if you see me like wandering around, just come and say hi. I am here the entire day and I just want to talk bees. The only thing that like that I love to say, I've got to go, is I've got to do the live stream at half one. So I'm talking and there's people in there. What I would also say as well, if you're coming to the beekeeping show tomorrow, I've been in and done like a little test in the little lecture theater there, and it's, it's really nice. Like I thought— so if you came to the beekeeping show last year, what you would have seen is they had like a little area off to one side, but it was part of the main arena. So I think the problem that some people had is that you couldn't really hear what the people were saying. And the biggest piece of feedback that I got, which was people waited there to kind of listen to people talk and do the seminars, and you just couldn't hear a thing— this year that's completely changed, and they have like got themselves a completely separate room over there, and it is lovely. It's like properly peaceful, really nice and sealed off. I've done a mic test in there, and I will livestream it tomorrow. But if you're coming to the event, get in there early because there's not a huge amount of seats, and I guarantee it'll be full. Like, it would definitely be full. Not, not because like I'm in there talking, but there's not that many seats in there. And I think the things that people are talking about, you're going to want to get in there. But also, it's not just going to be a standard like someone's going to stand there for half an hour and show you how to build a beehive. It's going to be a constant Q&A. So I'm going to be hosting questions and taking questions from the audience and answering those questions as best as I possibly can. So it's going to be a little bit dynamic, it's going to be a little bit crazy, but it will be really, really good fun. So I would say if you want to get there, get there a little bit early, maybe camp outside, and when they open the door, go and get yourself a seat because there will be a limited amount of seats and you won't be able to get a seat once it is full. The other thing that I would say is that I spoke to the owners here and the feedback that they had previously last year, which was if you, if you, if you haven't bought a ticket and then you turn up on the day— last year, the way that the queues worked out, I don't think the message got to the, the staff that were working here. It basically favored if you didn't have a ticket, so you could stroll right to the front of the queue, the queue for no tickets, and you just paid walked in, and they're like the complete opposite reverse of that is happening this year. So if you turn up tomorrow thinking, oh yeah, you know, I'm not going to buy a ticket and I'm just going to rock up to the front, they basically designed it the complete opposite way, so you'll be at the back. Um, the, the way to get to the very front, I've been completely assured, uh, the quickest way to get in is to pre-order your tickets. So if you've not ordered your tickets yet and you're coming tomorrow, highly recommend coming. Like, it is awesome here. Um, beekeepingshow.co.uk You can order your tickets there. I've been talking for six hours straight, like absolutely solid six hours straight. I've got the Bee Farmers Dinner at seven o'clock, and I don't know what time it is. I think it's probably like half six. So I'm going to talk a little. I'm going to talk a little bit more. We're going to talk and go and find some other stuff. Let's go now. I forget I should probably walk around. Look at my eyes. I'm absolutely. absolutely knackered. I shouldn't moan. Right, let me get this sign in there. Right, P-L-U-K, pluke. I'd not— it was neither of those things, it was pluck. So I got told off by the guy. Darius, the owner of this. Now this is one of my favorite bits of equipment. I've done a separate video on this. But what he sells there is like big massive rolls of metal, so you can buy aluminium sheets. You can buy stainless steel sheets or you can buy galvanized sheets. But when you're making underfloor entrances, this is the company to go to. And like, I bought my— all of my underfloor entrances, the mesh comes from this company here. Now I used to be able to get it only through eBay, but they get it that you can buy it from their website now, which I think if I read it backwards is plukmetal.co.uk. That threw me completely there. But it's really good, this roll here. So it's, uh, what have I got here? I've got a galvanized roll here and it's £59.99 for a 20-meter roll. Let me get— make sure that's right. No, it's not a 20-meter roll, it's a 10-meter roll. So £59.99 for a 10-meter roll, but that's enough for 20, 20 hives. So if you're making an underfloor entrance, you need 460 by 460. That is 460 across, and then if you have 10 meters, that means you can get 20 out of it. So it's effectively like, what, £3 a hive for the mesh, which is really, really good. But the stainless is a little bit more expensive. I think that aluminium might be a bit more expensive as well. If you're getting it, definitely go for the stainless. Lasts a lot longer. It means you don't get any of that staining that you'll get on cedar. But highly recommended, really good company to work with, and they're very, very good for making underfloor entrances. So they brought a whole new line of products with them as well that they're kind of demoing at the show. Let's stand up here. So we've got Pains behind me here. I filmed Roger, um, you'll see from the video before, I was going around doing videos with people and we had to get Kerry from Abella up on a box because she was like, she's just really small and pretty much everyone had to get on a box. But Roger was like up here, so had to get me a box to bring me up. But Paynes have got all of their gear here. I was commenting with Roger, like, we're absolutely flooded with boxes at the moment. I've got 680 Paynes nucs sitting at Richard's house. I said, we just need somewhere to store them, like, temporarily. It's not going to be a huge amount of nucs. And then he rung me up and he said, it's not going to be a huge amount of nucs, in his lovely Herefordshire accent. And he said he's just taken over his life and his house, the amount of nucs that are there. We have to kind of order like for kind of various years, so we've tried to cut the price in so it doesn't go up anymore because it just doesn't stop going up, the price. Right, next up, I'm going to go over to the lectern and do this one. I like a lectern. Oh, you can't really see it. Oh, there you go. Bee Farmers Association. Come and say hi to the Bee Farmers Association. I'll definitely hover around here a little bit tomorrow. But if you've got kind of any aspirations to be a bee farmer, perfect opportunity to come along, chat to the bee farmers, talk to like the chair, talk to kind of like secretaries, membership people. They're here, they're not horrible people, they're really good. Bee farmers are really nice guys, very approachable. Like I say, if you're kind of interested in bee farming, come over, have a chat with the guys. So everybody knows this guy, Gwenna Griffiths. Can't say that because I'm not actually Welsh, far from it, but it's brilliant. You know what, Griff was at the show last year and he didn't have his own show, he didn't have his own stall, but he took it over and branded it all up. And he's done the same again this year. He's the master of COVID marketing. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we'll come along, we'll do, we'll just assist with, who's it this year? Oh, Lapid, yeah, we'll come along with Lapid, we'll come along with Anel, you pay for the stall but I'll just have it all, it's Gwynny Griffith's stall. Brilliant, I love it. I'm only jealous that I didn't think of that idea, Griff, absolutely masterstroke there. But loads of good stuff there, he's got that Anel Beehive, or if you say, I'll do the Griff accent here, that Anel Beehive. Um, as I said, I'm not Welsh, so sorry, Griff. If you want to return the favor with a London accent, feel free. I won't be offended. Right, where are we going next? So there we go, you can see there Griff and Anel, very subtle. And then you've got Laphead. Right, let's go have a look what Thorns have got. Thorns have got a huge stall again. They've always got the biggest stall here. Them and Abella, I think, generally have the big ones. So here we go. Probably my favorite part of any of these beekeeping events is watching people fight for things, and it gets like a little bit kind of crazy. But, oh, that's my brood, that's my super, no, no, no. And like punches are flown. No, I'm only joking, it doesn't get that bad, but it's very competitive. Like, the companies don't bring a huge amount of things to these events. It's limited supply and obviously it's first come, first served unless you preordered. So you just get this piling in of people and it just goes a little bit crazy. But I really do enjoy watching it because I get to come in a day early and buy what I kind of want. Not that I bought anything this year. I'm trying my best not to spend money unnecessarily. And I promised myself, absolutely promised myself I wasn't going to buy a We're going to look at the bivacs in a little bit, but I'm really tempted. I really want a bivac, and I did this last year and then didn't buy one, and then they sold out by 11 o'clock. I wonder if Richard from the Easy Bivac can beat that this year. I genuinely think he will. Like, it's a great product, it's not that expensive, and what he's done is he's improved the product yet again. So last year it came with a Makita battery and you couldn't buy it without the Makita battery. This year he's put a slightly different adapter on that will take pretty much any battery And then you don't have to buy the battery with it as well. So he's made it a lot cheaper because you don't have to buy the battery or the charger, and then he's made it a lot more versatile because it takes every single different type of battery. So I should put that back down. I'm really out of breath. I'm just going to take like a little sip of water. Got to stop. Right, where we go next? We'll find something else to go and have a look at. So there's Thorns. Do you want to have a quick look around? Huge amount of stuff in the Thorn store. Right, you've got Damien lingering around there. Hi Damien, he's gonna wave. You've got David, I think that's David. Yep, it is. Right, we're gonna go and look at some Abello stuff. Um, yeah, Abello, Abello got an absolutely huge stock. Oh, so Jay's asking, is the Instant Vap there? Yep, we're gonna have a look at the Instant Vap. I'll give you A sneaky sneak preview of the new one. Duncan's not there, he won't mind. Oh, let me drop my camera. Oh, he's taken them, that's cheeky. Oh, you could have had some really good marketing there, Duncan, that's gutted. So Instant Vap was here and we did a video previously and he had the old Instant Vap and he had the new compact, really cool Instant Vap, and I was going to compare the two, but he's not here, so that's a shame. Um, you've got BJ Sheriff over there. I had a look through a lot of their suits earlier, they were really nice. And then obviously my best mates over here, BB Wear. Only saying best mates as in like the people, you know, best mates, we're best mates. Uh, feels a little bit weird like talking randomly to mannequins in like an empty room, but you get the idea. I've got Ultra Suit there, got the Polycotton Suit over there. I reckon they're going to sell a good few of those suits. I noticed that they've not got the Vale on display there. Interesting. Right, let's go over to Abello. So here we go, onto Abello. I'm going to pass out, I'm absolutely shattered. One of the things I really like here, I'm just going to like zoom down a little bit, see if I can show you this. The, the movable dollies that these are on. This is a new invention from Abello, really, really useful. So if you've got— I know you can't see my face— if you've got like a large creamer like this, once they're full, absolutely no chance of moving them around. But look at that stainless steel dolly, and you can just move that as you please. I promise I'm not breaking anything there, Damien. Really, really like that. Let's put this back up here. Huge range of extraction equipment here, but what I do note from Damien is he's not brought quite as much as he has in previous years. So if you're thinking, oh, I'm going to get there kind of in the morning and I'm just going to like wander around and at the end I'm going to snag myself a deal, having looked around this year, I don't think many people have brought like huge, huge amounts of equipment. So I think if you, if you're, if you've got that strategy that you're going to say, well, I'm going to be there at the very end And I'm just going to get like a brilliant deal on one of the massive extractors. Like the big 56-framer is not here. I don't even think, looking around, I'm not even sure there's a 30-framer here. There might be one 30-framer somewhere. I can see a 20-framer over there. So my recommendation to you is, if you're in the market for like any of this equipment, get in quickly. You want to get in there quickly and you can pay for it and then you can come back at the end of the day and you can collect it. That goes for Abello, that goes for kind of pretty much anywhere. I don't know who else is doing like collection like that. Abello are definitely doing collection like that. I'm just going to go and grab a couple of the products over here. Oh, scrap that. I'm going to bring the camera over here, save me carrying all the stuff around. So, here are some new products. 14x12 Corex. So, these are really, really useful. Like, Corex boxes are quite difficult to get in some configurations, and in a 14x12 configuration, they're often like impossible to get. Like, I don't know any other manufacturer that is making a 14x12 Corex box. So, if you're selling nucs or you want to kind of like transfer them, send them in the post, or just like making splits, To have one of these at £17.95, that's a good price. And then the other one, like, if Correx isn't your thing and you just want to like make a split and go and take it to like your friend or something like that, but you don't want to give them like a wooden box and you don't want to kind of like— you don't want to do like a return deal with them where you give them the box and you've got to give it back, but you also don't want to give them like a Correx box that's like plastic, then you've got like the wooden— uh, wooden— you've got cardboard version of the nucs as well, which is really good. So they're not, they're not wax-lined, but apparently wax-lined would have made them like loads more expensive. So they are more of like not a disposable item, cuz obviously you can, you can recycle them, but maybe like a 3 or 4 times use. Obviously if you keep them dry, you can use them for way, way longer than that. But nice, nice to see that Abello, again, uh, like other companies here, they're innovating, they're bringing new products in there. Really nice to see that This one has made it to the show. Right, let's go and see some more stuff. So I mentioned this on last year's stream, but National Bee Supplies, they, they make a lot of these kind of like bird nests and bat nests, and they just use pretty much every single offcut of their cedar. So I, I meant— I wanted to mention this to Chris earlier, but I completely forgot. But I want to buy some of these. Maybe not this one here. What I want is like, I want a mason bee or like a masonry bee home. Something like that that I can put up in the garden because I'm going to get myself some like red mason bee cocoons and I'm going to put them inside them. I'm just going to go and put it in the garden and then I want to watch the bees coming out. I thought that'd be really cool. But you can see like the workmanship on these, really nice. And I love the fact that they're using all of their waste cedar. obviously making like beautiful WBC hives there in Western red cedar. You can see how beautiful is that cedar there, not a single knot in sight. But then every single piece of that waste product they're putting into these little kind of trinkets and different things that they make. Really, really nice. Sorry again, Chris. Sorry if you come back tomorrow and everything's in the wrong place. I'm trying to put it back. I've already put one in the wrong place. There you go, putting them back for you. I love that one though, that's really cool. So that is like a, a wine Bottle, and then you've got like your 2 little glass holders as well. I don't know about anybody else, but like the smell of cut cedar is just absolutely brilliant. I really, really do like the smell of it. Right, before I break any of people's equipment, let's go and have a look at some other stuff. So let's go over to my absolute number one favorite poly hive. I bet you can guess what it is. it is of course the Abello polyhive. Like, they are brilliant. Damien has sent me some of his 8-frame Langstroth polyhives, and you know what, I spoke to someone and they were really badmouthing the, the Lyson 8-frame or 10-frame Langstroth ones and saying it's like polystyrene. I know they are polystyrene, but like a really low-density polystyrene. So the only experience that I'd had from that was that they were Really bad, don't touch them, they're terrible. And Damien sent me some and it couldn't be any further from the truth, like it's absolutely not the case. They are just identical in terms of the quality of the finish. But the real, like, you can see this as a benefit or you can see this as like a disbenefit. They're flat pack, so they don't take up anywhere near as much space and it means that you put them together yourself, but they just screw together, so there's no gluing or anything like that. But it means you can take them apart for cleaning, which is actually really like a good thing and quite a handy thing to have. But I bought some of those and they're going to be kind of— I'm going to run a whole apiary on a Lyson flat pack 8-frame polyhive this year. Really, really excited about that. So I like— you look at the colors, I love the colors of the Abello polyhives. I'm also— another video coming up at the moment, I've done, um, Osmo. Anybody's heard of Osmo? It's the oil that you use for kind of like wood and oak. They've sent me loads of products, really nice paint for painting kind of wooden beehives, some beautiful colors giving you absolutely brilliant protection. But the beauty of it is that it's all natural products, all certified as safe to be used for bees. So I'm really excited about that one. Keep an eye out for that if you're interested. Hit the subscribe button, which I'm sure you're already subscribed. And then the other one that's coming out is I'm re— I'm retracting some advice, so you heard it here first. When I buy my unpainted polyhives, I like to spray them, and the spray paint that I've used, in, in my experience, it's fine when you use it on like a vertical surface. So where I've got them on vertical surfaces, as long as you've not painted anything underneath it, it's held up relatively well. But on the horizontal surfaces where the water sits, it's not held up well at all. So I'm retracting advice. I'm taking it back. I'm not doing any more spray painting, and I'm moving back to masonry paint. But the new video is going to be a slight kind of difference. It's not normal masonry paint, but designer masonry paint. So it's from Valspar, and it means that you can have like pretty much any color you want. And then I'm doing it with tester pots. I'm going to mix and match the tester pots, but you will like it. It comes out with a really, really nice product, and it means that you don't have to have like flipping magnolia Or something terrible like that. Hello, it's fine, got people in the background, I'm right in the way. Oh, hello, waving. So I really, really like the, the colors of the Abello ones, and like I said, I'm retracting and changing my advice for the way that I paint the hives going forward. Painting those polyhives going forward, I'm using Valspar, which is a masonry paint from B&Q. Right, let's go somewhere else. I'm going to give one final shout out to Abello because I said this on the video that I did previously with Abello. But this, if you said to me, if you were only allowed one product from Abello to pick one, what would you go for? Without a shadow of a doubt, I would go for the warming cabinet. So I have got 4 warming cabinets from Abello, and these weren't freebies. I paid for all of these myself. I made my own warming cabinet and it was rubbish. It was absolutely shocking. And like, the difference from the heat at the top was different from the heat at the bottom. And I'm sure other people out there could make a much better version than I did. I got the right heating tubes and everything, it just didn't work. But anyway, I bought 4 of these, so I've got 1, 2 of the big ones and 2 of the smaller ones, and they are just brilliant. They heat up the honey and get it back to runny so quickly that it means that you're not leaving it in there for a long time, and it means you're not having any issues with kind of like increased HMF. There was going to be one product. I was only allowed to buy one Abello product. That would be the one that I'm going to buy. And how many have they got here? They've got three. They've got one of each size. I guarantee they will be gone first thing in the morning because they're really, really popular. Right. I just had someone kind of like giving me a wave in the background, saying basically got like five minutes left. So let's go have a look at some of the other things that we've got. So quick, quick view now. You've got Bee House. Vita Bee Health. You've got Northumberland Honey Company behind me. They make a huge amount of mead. They're bringing out loads of new products at the moment, like new kind of like make your mead at home. I love it here. You think again, selling honey and mead to beekeepers, is that going to work? And yes, it's like absolutely brilliant. They do it every year. They bring it. It's probably like the busiest stall because people are just here trying the mead and understanding kind of like what they do. But not only that, they do sparkling mead. I'm just reading it there. Sparkling mead in the traditional Champenoise method. That's not how you say it, is it? I'm gonna have to get them on tomorrow to tell me how to do it. Basically using the champagne method, which I guess I know a bit about champagne. I don't drink, I don't drink a lot of champagne, but it's like, is it like degorging or something like that where you have to twist the bottles? And that sounds really good. I might come over here tomorrow and try some sparkling champagne if there's not a massive queue. But really good to see see those guys here. How long have we got left? About 10-15 minutes. We've got 10-15 minutes. Excellent. Okay, that's good. Right, so let's go and look at some more stuff. Um, hiya, how you doing? So just right, I'm gonna go to Busy Bees Cosmetics. So this is— oh, Kevin Thorne. So we looked at some of this last year as well. Got some really nice things. I'm just aware to not mess You know, I got told off last year for messing up people's stalls, so I'll put it back in exactly the same place. Really nice, like unscented lip balms and honey soaps. The smell of that is fantastic. Really, really nice. I'm going to put it back exactly where it came from. Again, you wouldn't think that that's the kind of thing that would do well at a beekeeping show because you think, well, I've got beehives, I can make that. Try making soap, you like set fire to your house making soap. Always really, really busy here. It. What they do here though at Busy Bee Cosmetics is something brilliant as well. They do it wholesale. So if you want to kind of say to them, right, look, I'm going to have— I want 100 lip balm and I want them branded up in a certain special way, they'll do special orders. Or you can like— you can have it white label like that, or you can have it in their own branding. So it takes all of like the, the issues out of making that kind of stuff yourself, getting the certification, which can be very, very difficult with cosmetics. Um, and like you can expand your own range and I said I was going to do that last year, but I didn't get around to doing it. It's on the long list of things to do that I never get around to doing. So sorry if there's loads of background noise, it's just carnage here, isn't it? Right, the bivouac. We're back to the bivouac again. So Richard was probably the favorite person that I interviewed last year because he was just so nice and like just, just kind of like, oh, what's going on? And then just blurted out Brilliant amount of knowledge about everything, but he's got his Bevax here. I'm going to get kicked out here, I think, in a minute. But like I said, loads of adaptations to the way that there you don't need your own battery pack for that anymore, or you you can add your own battery pack to that. What I want to speak about with Richard tomorrow is the the ribbed nature of the hose. That's the only thing that's stopping me buying one. I really wish they would maybe offer like a smooth hose to go with it as well. That's the one thing. That I'm just not 100% sure of, but I really, really like the idea. Like I said, if you want to get one of those, get one quickly because there is 18, so 20 of them here. That's it. And once they're gone, they're gone. He'll be packed up at half 10 going home, no doubt. I need to speak to the people at Apimay Hives as well because they've got their Apimay Thermo Defender beehive here. Here again. I really like the look of it, but it is always just like a little bit, a little bit too expensive for what it is for me. Um, but they, they're kind of like another company that's just at pretty much every single show. Absolutely amazing kind of how they get around. Um, huge company. Like, if anyone's not seen it, if you watch the How It's Made on like how they make the beehives in Turkey, absolutely fascinating. Like, the scale of the beehive factory over there, really, really good. Um, I just, I've just seen something else that's like really cool, but I'm going to try and not break it. Wow, yeah, look, this could, this could go horribly wrong. How cool is that? Little bee. I've got a little jingle in it as well. I've not got any— I'll put some coins in it. But yeah, there you go. Look, Bees for Development. Come, if you'll come to the beekeeping show tomorrow, bring some spare change and come and put it in this little bee. I think that'd be really good. Let's, let's set a challenge to try and fill up this little bee. If you're coming, definitely bring some Right, so I'm going to do 2 more stalls. It's dead in here now. They're literally just looking at me saying, come on, like, everybody else has gone home, we can go home once you go home. Um, but I think, I think that is about it really. I say that's about it, like, that's quite a lot of stuff. No, no, no, there is more, there is more. Around here. We did— oh, catch my breath back, I'm really out of breath. We did Den Rosa before, but there is one more that I'll show you around here which I thought was pretty cool. So bear with me, it's a little bit of a walk to the end. Shows you the scale of the place, the fact that there's like huge amount of walking. I'm gonna do— I'm gonna do 2 more actually, because this is a lovely little store. Look at this, let me straighten up a little bit. So, so So this is a company here called Herbie Homeware Gifts Plants and Accessories, and I'm definitely not going to touch this stall here because look at that, it doesn't need any touching whatsoever. Staffordshire honey, Kent honey. I bet you any money there's nothing left at this stall come tomorrow. But look at those candles there, you've got like a rosemary and mint candle, orange and spice, really nice gift sets, lovely Bee-branded kind of cutlery and crockery. Like I say, that'll be a very, very busy stall, and I bet you that sells out all good tomorrow. Right, the final stall, and I'm kind of like crouching down because I've not set the camera up right. There we go. The final stall is frames and feeders. Now, you know I like my frames and feeders frames. I've got loads of of them a little bit slow to draw out, but the ones that I've got that are drawn out now are absolutely amazing, and I know they're going to serve me well for years to come. But how about this? I think they have kind of signed a deal with none other than— get it right that way— Abello, and then they're going to be selling them direct from Abello. So I think you'll be able to buy your Abello polyhives with the Frames and Feeders frames inside. Really, really excited about that collaboration. All right, so there we go. Before I collapse because I've spoken solid for 38 minutes plus the 6 hours that I spoke to before, I'm going to call it a day there. If you haven't bought your beekeeping show ticket already, you've got to buy it in advance. Don't turn up on the day without a ticket. If you're umming and ahhing about it, you're thinking £10 or £12, whatever it is to get in here, you will make 10 times that back by some of the bargains and some of the bargains that are on display, but just coming here and meeting people, like kind of seeing the different people, seeing the different companies, talking with other people about beekeeping, that is worth the admission price on its own. If you're coming tomorrow, tap me on the back, come and say hello. You know, you guys here are the kind of people that make the channel what it is. I'm just trying to work out how to turn this off at the same time. Oh, it's not even working. There we go. How do I turn this off? Anyway, I think we're done. Thank you so much for dialing in. If you're coming down tomorrow, I'll see you then.
