Laurence Edwards inspects a brood frame from a strong colony and calls the queen a "monster," but finds no eggs on the frame. He searches the hive to locate the queen and check for swarm cells, unsure what's happening with the colony's reproduction.
This frame here, I'll give you a little close-up. Absolutely jam-packed full of brood. Like, this queen is a monster, one of the best queens that I've got. Face to face, 14 by 12. Look at that brood, nothing wrong with it whatsoever. Very healthy brood, but not a single egg. Can't see any eggs anywhere. So I'll continue my search. Hopefully we find the queen, hopefully we don't find any swarm cells, but at the moment it's a little bit touch and go.
