A beekeeper checks a hive 48 hours after installing new frames and finds bees building comb in unexpected places, with eggs already visible in several cells. The comb is messy with wax pools, but clearing the frame bottoms worked to encourage the bees to draw it out.

48 hours later, this is what they've done. They've continued to build that wild comb up here. This is the area where nothing was supposed to happen, got a little bit going on. And then let's have a look at this. Okay, it's not worked perfectly. We've still got pools of wax, we've still got a bit of wax down in the cells. But look, if I zoom in, you can see we've got eggs in some of those cells there. Definitely prefer the empty ones. So anyone who said about clearing out the bottom, you win an extra star because that was right. But take a look over here, there's still eggs in those ones as well. Maybe a little bit more work for the bees, but at least we got them drawing it out.
