Laurence Edwards shows how to feed mini long-hive nucs through winter. Place insulation boards over the hive, cut an access hole, position a feeder on top, and pour sugar syrup in. Remove any bees that get trapped.
I place correct insulation boards over the top. I cut out a hole with a knife that just pops out. I lever off the ventilation hole, take that off. Bees come out to say hi. Place on my insulation board, get my feeder into position, pour some syrup in, scoop out any bees that get stuck, and the bees are now fed.
