Laurence Edwards made a spring beekeeping mistake that overcrowded his hive with capped brood and stressed bees. He's sharing what went wrong so other beekeepers don't repeat the error during seasonal transitions.
This spring is going to catch a lot of people out, and it definitely caught me out with this colony here. So again, another frame almost full of capped brood. And like, I'm going to show you down at the bottom of the beehive in a bit. There were so, so many bees in this colony. Like, this is a plea. Don't make the mistake that I made here. It's hard doing this video. It's a bit embarrassing, and it's not easy to admit that, like, this is my problem. This is my mistake that's caused this suffering for these bees, and there's absolutely nothing that I can do about it. The only thing I can do about it is try and educate other people to not make the same mistake and to not make the same poor judgment calls that I made.
