Laurence Edwards describes an artificially inseminated queen bee that chewed through her cage tape and escaped. The colonies accepted her anyway, and she produced so many queen cells that Edwards feared losing her. It was closer to disaster than he realized.
This little queen here decided to have an early exit from her cage. They ate through the tape. I was going through and I was thinking there is no way this artificially inseminated queen is going to survive. Luckily the colonies accepted her, but there are tons and tons of queen cells. That was a close one.
