Laurence Edwards shows what to do with dead queen bees that arrive in shipments: soak them in 95% alcohol mixed with propolis to make a swarm attractant that works better than commercial products like Swarm Commander.
In this video, I'm going to show you what to do with a pile of dead queens. Every shipment of queens we get, we always end up with a few that die in transit. Every single cage here you can see has got a dead queen bee in it. So I've got all of my dead queens on a spoon. I'm going to put them in a jar, and what I've got in here is 95% alcohol mixed with propolis. I've turned my propolis tincture into the most powerful swarm attractant that you can possibly imagine. Swarm Commander, eat your heart out.
