A center's shotgun snap gets more accurate when you align your elbow and armpit vertically instead of at an angle. This locks your shoulder and wrist, cutting down the left-right wobble that ruins snaps.

Here's today's OFP Quick Tip. Today we're going to give you a trick to improve center accuracy in the shotgun snap. We're going to take our athlete here, line him up as a center. Go ahead, grab the ball like you normally would. What you see is this elbow armpit kind of facing at an angle, and from time to time, depending on the play, you'll see shotgun snaps go left and right. What we want is them to create torque in the shoulder and have this elbow armpit facing north and south. And this will greatly improve the accuracy of each shotgun snap because it locks the shoulder and wrist in place.
