Here's today's OLP Quick Tip. We're going to talk about the setup for the squat exercise. Now, most people know it's important to brace the core when we're going through a squat. We want to make sure we're breathing through our diaphragm, contracting those core muscles. But what most people don't realize is that the lats are a huge part in stabilizing the core as well. So we're going to cue Antonio to pull the bar into his shoulders like he's doing a lat pulldown before he sets up for the squat. This is going to keep his core much more engaged because the lats, while they insert in the upper arm, they're going to originate in the pelvis area, and that's going to stretch from the top of the torso to the bottom of the torso, which is, i.e., our core. So Antonio is going to go through the squat, staying engaged, pulling down on the bar the whole time. Why don't you go through it, Antonio? Good. Awesome. Hope that helped. Check you next time.
