When fatigue hits near the end of a heavy bench press set, a missed rep or dropped bar becomes likely. Trust your spotter, keep a firm squeeze through the movement, and rerack safely to avoid injury.

In today's training awareness, be aware of these elements when doing the barbell bench press. A lot of times in the offseason, we're doing volume, right? So you're getting tired at the top of your set. Last thing we want to do is at the very end where you're struggling is try to drive back into it and you end up slamming. As you can see here, he misses, right? Or if you try to slam it back, it may bounce back and fall back on you. All right, we don't want that to happen. So what we need to do here is make sure you just trust your spotter. That's what they're there for. Squeeze through it, finish the movement, and put the bar back safely. That's our training awareness for today.
