Training Awareness: Phone in Pocket on Platform

17 Jan 2020 · 1 min

In this brief training‑awareness video, the speaker warns lifters that keeping a phone (or any item) in a pocket while performing Olympic lifts on the platform can lead to costly damage. Because the bar is often dropped onto the thighs during lifts, a phone in a pocket may crack or break. The speaker does not forbid listening to music, but stresses that during the actual lift the pocket should be empty. The recommended practice is to remove all items, place the phone in a cubby before the lift, and retrieve it after the workout.
