Never unload a barbell by removing all plates from one side first. The bar will tip and fall. Remove plates evenly: with a partner, take them off simultaneously on both sides; alone, alternate sides one plate at a time.

In today's training awareness, let's be aware of how we're unloading the weight off of the bar, especially when in a rack, because I've seen this once before where an athlete will take off all the plates on one side before they go to the other side. And because there's no weight on one side and all the weight on the other side, the bar flips over and that's a recipe for disaster. So whether you're unloading the bar with a partner or by yourself, just make sure you're taking the weight off evenly. If you have a partner, make sure that they know the rate that you're taking the plates off so we can take them off at the same time. And if you're by yourself, Make sure we're taking off one plate on one side and then going other— over to the other side of the bar, taking another plate off of there.
