In this interview segment, host Lee Richter asks Chandler Bolt to introduce himself and explain how he became passionate about helping others publish books. Chandler shares that he wrote and self‑published his first book at age 19, which generated several thousand dollars a month in passive income and allowed him to drop out of college in South Carolina. He describes the book as a "key that opens the door to Narnia," a metaphor for the new world of opportunity that publishing creates. The rapid life‑changing impact of his early success ignited his mission to help many more people experience similar transformation through publishing.
Chandler, why don't you tell a little bit about yourself to the audience and how you got involved in the passion of helping people publish their books?
Yeah, so I wrote and published my first book when I was 19 years old, and it totally changed my life. I'm a college dropout originally from South Carolina, and I wrote and published this book, and it started bringing in a few thousand dollars a month in passive income, and it paid the bills when I dropped out of school. Now, not only that, but I always like to say that a book is the key that opens the door to Narnia. It's this world of opportunity, or this land of Narnia, that you never knew existed, but that only exists once you become a published author. So that was something where I saw my life change completely over the course of a few short months when I published the book. And so that really lit the fire in me to help a ton of other people to have their lives changed by publishing their book.
Brilliant. And who was the inspiration to help you know that you could even publish a book at the age of 19?
Oh gosh, my brother actually. And so I just felt like there was unique, unique life experiences, unique things that I'd learned that I could share with other people. So we had a conversation and it started really— it wasn't even going to be a full— like, it wasn't even going to be a full book that we would sell. It was just going to be a PDF that I would give away to my friends that I knew needed help. So 20 pages, and then that morphed into a full book, and then it just kind of took off.
