Zed Run is a blockchain horse racing game where each horse is an NFT. Founder Chris Laurent sold $30 million worth at launch. Some digital horses fetch over $100,000, and the platform has created real income for its 125,000 users through breeding, racing, and staking.

One of my favorite parts of this is the debrief of launches. I absolutely love this. I learn from other people's case studies. So today we're going to debrief the Zed Run. So why don't you tell us a little bit about what you know about the Zed Run?
Well, imagine I told you that there was this crazy game with like horse racing and horse breeding and Basically, the whole horse ecosystem developed into a game. So you can be anything you want in this landscape, from a lowly horse farmer to a breeder to running and owning championship stallions. And the amazing thing, it's a little bit like the Nike project that we referenced earlier, where you're able to basically breed assets.
Mm-hmm.
So there's this whole breeding ecosystem that's And then once you have these horses and you've developed and trained them, you race them. And so what's taken place is, you know, a little— I don't know if this was in the original roadmap, but there's become this whole gambling ecosystem around it.
It's not supposed to be gambling.
I'm sorry, um, staking, um, or participating, participating in creative ways.
Yeah, so, so let's go back to the basics. This is a blockchain-based game.
Absolutely.
In which NFTs are used to Represent a horse. So you buy the NFT, and now that represents your horse. You own a horse.
You own a horse. But again, like in the real world, horse breeding is not an inexpensive endeavor. So these horses are now— these NFTs that are horses, some of them are going for over $100,000.
Wow.
So when you're spending $100,000, $125,000 on a digital horse, this thing better perform for you, and you better have the opportunity to do something unique and fun with it. And that's where bringing in the breeding and the showing and the, all of the different iterations in that ecosystem.
And the skins and making it unique to you and they can reproduce it. So one of the things I love is the founder and CEO, Chris Laurent, had such a vision that in 2019, when he launched this, he sold more than $30 million worth of these NFTs. Now there's over 125,000 connected users. And 14,000 unique stable owners so far. So why is this important for people to know about this?
Well, again, it just shows the utility. It shows what can happen in the space. And so there's another company called Chain Games, and what they're doing, they're actually allowing you to, again, stake— some might call it gambling— on your performance in other games. And so I really think this is the future, is where you're able to tie in incentives to participation in any of these ecosystems. So Zed was a game changer and showing what was possible, and now you're seeing other companies, other protocols, other projects integrate aspects of that. And so that's why I paid attention to this one, and that's why I find it so fascinating where they're going with it. And I have friends, believe it or not, who are enamored with this. They've spent real, real money.
And real time.
And real time. It's the time.
'Cause you have to go in and develop it. It's not just set it and forget it.
No.
It's like Webkinz used to be for kids, where you go in, you create the house, you create the environment, you create the experience, you add accoutrements along the way. But again, it's building community too.
Yeah, if you don't have somebody to feed your horse, guess what? The horse is not gonna live. So no, this is, it's really fascinating, like all of the layers. And all of the real-world jobs that are being created from this. People are getting paid to do these things in this game, and it's translating to lives being changed in the real world because they're able to take that money that they garner and earn in the crypto sphere, in this NFT game, and bring it into the real world and buy bread and pay for rent and hospitals and medicine.
Yes.
It's just, it's, it's really fascinating, and it's going to be massively disruptive going forward.
And he was pioneering. He was ahead of the game.
Oh, 100%.
He really laid it out.
100%.
But to create that kind of community, that kind of ecosystem, and that kind of people engaged in it is incredible. The other thing that I love is when we're looking at it, we're saying, hey, you can buy a horse, but you could actually take out the word horse and put in you're buying a house. Or you're buying a car. Anything could be sold as an NFT. I mean, right now we're just seeing a digital horse, but in this case, it can be translated into any business transaction.
That's the golden ticket right there. That's the key, is it can be anything. If you've learned one thing through my ranting, if you follow me on Instagram, is that this application and where we can go with what NFTs are is limitless. So get creative, get curious, find out more, and find a way that you can launch something, because these numbers are not ethereal. They're attainable for you out there in the audience and for us as well. It's just limited by our imagination and what we want to do with it. And I've never had something in the business realm be so much fun to be a part of.
Absolutely. So you know what you want to do if you want to buy a horse? Go to Zed.
