Hi, I'm Lindsey Baumgren of Nourish Move Love. And today I've teamed up with the Grain Foods foundation to bring you a 30 minute arm workout using a set of dumbbells. That's all you need for today's workout. And I hope you fueled up. I had my breakfast this morning of some whole grain bread covered in cashew butter and sprinkled with some berries. You're gonna need some fuel because we're jumping into a solid 30 minute upper body workout. Grab those dumbbells. I have a set of £10. You can go light, medium, or whatever you're feeling today. A sweat towel, a water bottle, and let's jump into this 30 minute arm workout. All right, let's get started with that warmup. Warm up your upper body. So we're gonna start feet shoulder width distance apart. Give me a big inhale. Reach up. Right wrist grabs, left wrist up and over. Give me a side body stretch and take it all the way down and around. Ooh, that feels good. Yes. Other side. Switch it out. Other wrist. Reach over to that side. Hold it here and then take it all the way down and around. Back up to top. Go ahead, give me a goal. Posted arms, baby. Back bend. Squeeze the glutes. Open it up. Reach up nice and tall. Drop your right arm. Open chest expansion. Back to center. Drop your left arm. Open chest expansion. Rise back up. From here, you're gonna go forward. Fold. I'm gonna turn to the side so you can see me. We're gonna walk out to a high plank. So find that forward fold. Plant your hands on the ground. 1. Walk it right out to a high plank. Hold it here. Walk it right back in. Stand up tall. Squeeze the glutes all the way up to the top. Do it again. We're walking out. We're warming up the shoulders, the core, and you're getting a nice little hamstring stretch. As an added bonus, we are jumping in to an upper body workout that is 30 minutes long. It consists of super setting strength exercises, and then I'm going to give you a cardio or power move as well. So you're going to do two strength exercises back to back, followed by 30 seconds of cardio. Give me one more. Hold your plank this time. Walk it out. Find that high plank. Hold it here. Take a nice wide base with your feet. Shoulders are over the wrist. You can always drop to one or both knees. Hold that plank. You're giving me shoulder taps. Opposite hand, opposite shoulder. Tap it out. Eight, seven, six. You got it. Five Four, three, two and one. Hold it here. You're going to give me two push ups. You can do these from your knees or your toes. All the way down, all the way up, all the way down, all the way up. Push back down dog first. Down dog. Pedal it out. You're going to take that right hand. You're going to reach back for that left calf, shin, ankle, and then shift forward. High plank. Tap back, tap it back. Reach forward again. Warming up the shoulders, the core. Tap back to high plank. You got it Right here. That's four. Nice. Three, two. And last one. Go ahead, step or hop your feet up. Stand up. Right here. You're gonna give me some jacks so you can tap it, tap it, tap it. Option, give me jacks. Jack it out. Full range, high impact or low impact. You're gonna have options today to choose what you're looking for. You can always take the cardio portion and slow them down. If you're looking for just strength Today, you got 8, 7, 6. You got it. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Just tap and reach. Arm goes across, across. Tap and reach across. Open up the lats, the back. Tap it out. Tap Option. Stay right here. Or take those reaches up overhead. Make them nice and big. Feels good. Shake out the back. Heart rate starts to rise. Nice. You got four. Yes. Three. Nice. Two. And last one. Right there. You're gonna take your arms, goal post them right here. Gonna tap, tap, tap, tap, squeeze. Back, chest, back, chest. Option. Stay here. Take to those jacks again. You got 8, 7, 6. You got it. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Reach up nice and tall. And just take those arms. Alternating sweeps to the back. Open up the chest, the shoulders. Yeah. Four, three, two. Bring them forward. Yep. Swim it out. Right at me. 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. One more set of jacks. Let's go. Up, up. You got it. 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Find a solid base. Jab, jab. Right, left, right, left. Punch it out. Get into that upper body. Come on. Squeeze those biceps. Core stays tight. You got eight, seven. We're gonna add on some jacks. Two jacks, two jabs. Four, three, two. Looks like this. It's right, left, jacket, jacket. Give me a right left. Up, up. You got it. Right, left, jacket. Come on, right here. Boom. Nice. Four more Just like that. That's how we finish the warmup. You got it. 3. Nice finish. Last two, last one. Right here. Right, left. Hup, hup. All right. Hope you guys are nice and warm. We'll get warmed up as we Continue to go through this workout. Grab some water, grab your dumbbells. I have a set of tens with me. You can always go heavier. You can always have a couple sets near you. Here's how the workout is gonna work. There are four circuits. Each circuit consists of two strength moves. One cardio or power move. You do the strength moves for 10 to 12 reps. You're gonna do your cardio power move for 30 seconds. Repeat it, close out the smoke circuit, move on. I'll guide you through it. Grab your dumbbells. We're starting on the ground. That's right, you guys, we're gonna get those push ups out of the way right away because that's how we're working. First circuit is chest and back. Take that dumbbell, we'll go. It doesn't matter which hand. You're gonna do both hands. One of your hands, you can put it in your right hand or your left hand. This is the move. You're gonna give me. A push up a row, A push up and to T. Yes. Push up, row, push up. Tee, knees or toes. We're doing about 10 to 12 reps. Okay. When you're ready, get yourself set up, and let's jump right in. So it's a push up and a row. Elbow goes high to the sky, a push up to a T. Now you can do this from your knees. It's a push up a row. You can stay on your knees, push up to T. You can open up one hip to the side. That is from the knees. Push up, row, push up, T. You want to advance it a little bit. Here's my challenge. Take the push up from the knees, pop to the toes for the row. Push up from the knees, pop to the toes for the T. That's what I'm going to stay with. Push up from the knees, row from the toes, push up to T. Feel that chest. It should be nice and fiery right now. Chest and back, two of your largest muscle groups in the upper body, making this a major metabolic burner. Row, push up to T. You got one more complex move. One more. Finish it all the way out. Give me that. Push up to a row. You got it. One more. Push up to T. Holy bananas. Yeah. Sit it back, stretch it out. If you need to grab your dumbbells, you're on your back. Move number two is a narrow chest press to a chest fly. So right here, legs are bent to 90 degrees. Down, up, open, close. Join me when you're ready. All the way down. Press it open, close. So it's a narrow chest press. Go to the point where your elbows, the back of your arms tap the ground. Push up, open, close my dumbbells. Stay right in line with my chest. Ok. Open, close. Inhale, Exh. Inhale, exhale. So it's down, push open. Keep that chest puffed out. Close it. Down, up, open, Close it. Nice work. Down, up, open. You're going to get a little bit of shoulders in here and a little bit of triceps on that push too. Focusing on the chest, burning it out. That is our goal. Nice one. Work now, if you have a stability ball or something that lets you go a little bit farther a bench, more range of motion on that narrow press. You can absolutely take that route. Get that full range. You got two more reps right here. Down, up, open, close. One more rep. Down, up, open, close. We are up and over to our cardio move. It is 30 seconds. You're giving me one pushup, four climbers. Okay? Push up. 1, 2, 3, 4. 30 seconds. It starts in 3, 2. Let's go. Push up. Knees or toes? 1, 2, 3, 4. Each knee counts as one climber. Push up. 1, 2, three, four. Option. You want to make this a little bit less cardio. Give me slow knee drive. You get to choose. Yes. You're halfway there. 15 seconds. 1, 2, 3, 4. Come on. One. Push up. Four climbers. 1, 2, 3, four. Whoo. Shoulders already on fire. Come on. 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. Sit it back. Stretch it out. Holy bananas. Yeah. 30 seconds of fire. All right. We're repeating that circuit. You're like, what? More push ups. I know. That's how I feel. Take the dumbbell into the other hand. That push up row to push up T. That's what we're doing. Push up row. Push up T. I'm taking it from the knees. You're on in three, two. Let's go. Push up. Pop to my toes for that row. Take it back down. Give me the push up. And I'm gonna open up to a tee. Get a view of my beautiful backside here. Push up. Single arm row. Push up all the way up to that T. Open it all the way up. Chest and back. Right here. Chest and your shoulders. My shoulders are nice and fiery from this. Yeah. Up and open, side tee. You got it. One rep at a time. Come on. All the way down, all the way up. Throw it all the way down, all the way up to it. You got it. Come on. Stay in it. Yes, you can. Knees or toes? Yes. You got this. Two more reps. Two more reps. Just like it. Two more complete sets. Give me that row. Push up. Give me that T. Whoo. Almost there, my friends. Come on, push up. Give me that row. Push up. Give me that T. Yes. Last one. That was it. On your back. Yes, on your back. Test fly, narrow press, narrow chest press and fly. You're on in three, two. Let's go. Push up. Open, close. Down, up, out. Nice. Those weights stay right at chest height. Again, if you have that stability ball or you have a bench, something that gives you more range of motion on that chest press, take it because you got to stop right here if you're on the ground. But, hey, let me tell you, this is just as effective. I feel my shoulders. I feel my chest right here. Nice work. The good news is you don't have many more push ups after this circuit. We got our 30 second burnout coming. Push up for climbers. Two more complete sets right here. Push it open. Close it. Last one. Push it open. Close it up and over you guys. One pushup, four climbers. One pushup, four climbers. 30 seconds. This is to close out circuit number one. You're on in three, two. Let's go. One pushup. One, two, three, four. Come on. One pushup. One, 2, 3, 4. One pushup, four climbers dot yes, you can. Holy bananas, right? Holy bananas is the name of the game. We are starting this workout with some intensity. Come on. Ten seconds. You can do it. Finish strong. You got five, four, three, two. Recover. Step back. Stretch it out. Circuit number one in the books. Grab some water if you need it. Circuit number two, you're coming up to a standing position. And we are going into biceps and back. Biceps and back. So if you have the capacity, now's a good time to grab heavier weights. Biceps and back. Yeah. Starting. Good old bicep curl. Feet are shoulder width distance apart. Stop bending those knees. Palms face me. Nice. Right here. All the way down, all the way up. Inhale down. Exhale up. Catch your breath from that power move. Yes. All the way up, all the way down. Let me tell you, we are going to crush every single muscle in your upper body during this workout. Yes, we are. You're going to love it. It's going to feel. Feel great when you're done. You're gonna feel sore tomorrow. It's gonna be awesome. You got four. Nice. Three. You're gonna hold it halfway in two. Last one. Right here. Hold those arms. Halfway here, all the way down, halfway up. All the way down, halfway up. We're burning out the biceps up. Halfway. Your option Is always alternate your arm, especially if you're going heavy, challenging those biceps. You can always go to alternating. Right here. Finish. Yes, you can. Come on. 3. How that for that? 4. I learned how to count somewhere. Come on. Yes. Give me two. Last one. Right here. You're gonna hinge forward. We're going into a back fly. Hinge forward. Belly's tight, Butt is out right here. Open and close. Back fly. All the way open, all the way down. Now you're controlling the weight on the way up and especially the way down. It's really easy to just. Just let those arms fall down. No, no, that's actually where the muscle building happens. I'm going to show you from the side here so you can see all the way up, all the way down. Control it. Back fly. Yes. Pull that belly nice and tight. Even my little baby bump. You'll see it. Suck in a little bit here. Trying to keep that belly tight to the spine. Let's go. You got three. Stay with it. We're going to add a row. Two. Combo move. Last one. Combo move. It's a row and a fly. A row. Elbows, graze the rib cage. And a fly. Give me that row and fly. Four more. Come on. It's four. Yes. You got it. Three. Back on fire. It should be two. Last one. Right here. Row and fly. Are you ready for that cardio move? It's one. Burpee, two bicep curls. 30 seconds starts in three, two. Let's go. So it's a burpee, step back or hop back. Pop up. Bicep, bicep, take it down. Step or hop back up, curl, curl. You got an option. Step back, step in, stand up, curl, curl. I'm going full out. I'm hopping it all the way back, all the way up. Curl, curl. You got 10 seconds. Come on, push it. Curl, curl, finish. You got five. Four. Three. Two. And break. Nice work. We're gonna repeat it. Okay? Same thing. Starting on those bicep curls. Pick up your weight. Soft bend in the knees. Palms. Face me. Core is tight. Here we go. All the way up, all the way down. Biceps right here. Isolated movement, focusing on those biceps. Use your breath to help you get the weights up. Exhale, inhale down. Exhale up, inhale, down. Come on, right here. Give me five. You got it. Four. You're gonna hold halfway. Three. Stay with it. Two. Last one. Hold it. Halfway here, halfway here this time. All the way up, halfway down. All the way up, halfway down. Come on. Yes. Focusing on that upper head of the two. Headed Bicep muscle, right here. Up, halfway down. Up halfway down again. You can always go to those alternates. We got those really heavy dumbbells. Try and get your elbows off your body. Don't dip into your back. Use your biceps. Finish with me. It's four. That should be lots of fire. Come on. Three. Stay in it. Two. Last one. Right here. All the way up. Halfway down. Nice. Onto those back flies. Hinge it over. Bust out. Belly's tight. Arms are in front. Slight bend in those elbows. Gaze is in front of you. Neck in line with the spine. Let's go. Fly. Right here. Fly. You got it. Pull those weights up. Think about pinching your shoulder blades together. This might be where you need to grab some lighter dumbbells, too. That's totally fine. Okay. Grab those lighter dumbbells. This is a tough movement. You're getting a little bit of shoulders. Focusing on that back. Open it up. Come on. Yes, you can. Nice work. Stay with me. You got four. Then we go to the combo move. Three. Back, fly, back. Row in two. Last one. Right here. Last one. Combo move. Give me the row, the fly, the row, the fly. You got it. Row and fly. Come on. Four more. You got four. Combo move. Three. Feel that fire. Strength training. The goal is to work each muscle group to fatigue. One more. Row and fly. You ready for those burpees? One burpee, two bicep curls. Come on. You got it. Halfway there. Halfway into that. 30 seconds. Burn it out. Close it out. Set number two. And then we're on to set number three. Moving on. Come on. 10 seconds. Do anything, one rep at a time. That's what it is. You got 5, 4, 3, 2. And recover. Nice work. I'm gonna grab my sweat towel, brush it off. Here. Grab some water. Two sets down, two to go. Halfway point. Hope you're feeling good. We're moving on. Circuit number three. Shoulders and triceps. Whoo. Shoulders and triceps. Yes. Okay, Starting with a narrow, strict press. Looks like this. Weights go up to the shoulders, palms face in. Soft. Bending those knees again, you're just punching up overhead and down. Join me when you're ready. Let's go. Here we go. Up. Lock out the elbows. Down, up and down. Give me exhale, inhale. Use your breath to push those weights overhead. Really Important anytime we go overhead, core is active, glutes are active. Squeeze your butt. Squeeze your core. You got it. Take it down and up. Take it up. I mean, and down. You got it. Push. Nice work. Push it. Nice work. You got five. We go to the ground. Three skull crushers. And two. Last one, right here. Up. Take it down to the ground. Down to the ground. Lying flat on your back. Legs can be bent at 90 degrees. Skull crushers bend, extend. Now, if you're like, I want to add a glute bridge, because I know I can go for it. Lift those hips off the ground. Engage your glutes. Squeeze it. Bring those knees nice and tight together. But the focus here is your triceps. So if you've got those heavy weights, you can keep your back planted firmly on the ground. The goal is to fatigue your triceps right here. That is our focus. And I'm going to give you a fun combo move. A combo move to burn it out before we even get to our cardio segment. You're like, what? Yes, it's coming. Come on, finish. You got four. Yes. We're going to stay right here. We're going to stretch it out, okay? Take that right arm across the body. Drop the shoulder, roll out the wrist. That feels nice, right? Just crush your upper body. Way to go. Take that right arm. Reach it up overhead. Bend at the elbow, reach for the middle of your back. Give me a nice tricep stretch. Yes. Nice work, you guys. We hit everything. Chest, back, biceps, shoulders. Take the arms, flap them out. Triceps, get it all. Left arm across the body. Roll at the Wrist. Yes. In 30 minutes. Now, if you're like, man, my upper body could still go a little bit more. You should be totally fatigued right now. Reach for the tricep. Stretch up overhead. So if you're not there the next time, you come back and do this upper body workout. Grab heavier weights, you guys. Yes. You Can. The goal with strength training is always, always take your arms, flap those wings to up the weights. Increase it. OK, I got my 10 pounds. That was tough for me. I'm in maintenance mode right now, growing a human. But man, let me tell you, if I was doing this before I was pregnant, I'd definitely be reaching for £15. OK, let's go right here. Right onto the ground. Left arm up and over. Big side body reach. Get into those lats, those obliques that we finished off with. Switch it out. Other arm down. Up and over. Big side body stretch. Yes. Bring it back to center. Eagle arms. Take the right arm under the left arm. Thread it. Palms to touch if you can. Elbows go away from your body and lift up. Gonna open up the back. That should feel really, really good. Again, I owe a huge thank you. Lift up a little bit higher. To my partner, the Grain Foods Foundation. Take those arms, flap them. We're going to reverse it. Left arm under, right arm on top. Eagle arms other side. Elbows away and up. For partnering and bringing this 30 minute workout to you guys at home. So you can do it absolutely anywhere, flap your wings. I don't know about you, but whole grains are absolutely a part of my daily nutrition. I love me some whole grains, especially for maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle. I say yes to, to bread, to support my lifestyle and to support my growing baby. Thank you so much for joining this workout. Make sure you check out more workouts at nourishmovelove. Com.
