Hi, I'm Lindsay Baumgren of Nourishment of Love, and this is your barre workout with ankle weights. If you love barre workouts at home, hit subscribe to our YouTube channel. We are back with a barre workout because it's been highly requested by you guys. So we're coming at you with barre workouts, and I have the amazing Caroline joining me today. Everyone, welcome Caroline. She's filling in for Rachel, who's on vacation today. And fun fact, Caroline is a yoga sculpt teacher, so she's gonna crush today's workout. Today's workout is gonna be using just your body weight and you optional ankle weights. We'll link mine below if you're curious, if you would like to. So I'm going to add some ankle weights, and Caroline's going to do it with her body weight, and she's going to offer some modifications throughout today's workout. So we are just going to flow. We're going to do a warmup, and then we're going to flow from the mat to standing back down to the mat. So we're on the mat. It'll be very slow, controlled, sculpted focus movements. When we're standing, we're going to pick up the intensity just a notch and raise your heart rate as well. So we'll go mat, standing mat. Sounds like a good time. Yes. Let's start on the mat. Okay. All you're going to need is your body weight. And I'm going to add a sweat towel here, which I can use for my knees if I need to as well. So we are going to start right here on all fours. Okay. We're going to go through a nice little cat, cow, little warmup, and then we're going to get ourselves started. So go ahead, drop the belly, lift the chin, and then reverse it. Tuck the chin, arch the spine, do it again, Lift the belly, lift the chin, open up, and round it out. Nice. From here, you're going to come back to a nice neutral spine. This is where you're going to want to stay throughout the workout. Nice tight core. And we're going to go through some hip circles. So you're just going to take one leg. Doesn't matter. You'll do the other one and draw a nice big circle, and then you're going to reverse that circle. The addition of the ankle weight is just going to make everything a little bit more challenging for the lower body today. Totally optional. I have these nice adjustable ankle weights. I have one fully loaded up, but you can always take some of the Weight off if you want to, too, which is really nice. So I'll link those below. One more here. Awesome. Set it down and switch it out. Other side. Nice big hip circle. And then reverse it back. We'll get nice little warm up here, and then we'll go into a nice mat sequence. It's gonna challenge our glutes, our core. We'll hit a little upper body as well. We'll go to standing, which is a little bit more power sequence, and then we'll go back to the mat for some more core. One more. Bring it back. Awesome job. Nice work. From here, you are gonna go into a lunge position. So we'll just step back right into a high plank. Find a high plank. And then you're gonna step your right foot outside your right hand. Give me a nice, easy twist because it feels good. Set it down. Now take your right hand and give me a shoulder sweep back and forward. Same thing. Other side. Step back. High plank. Left foot outside, left hand. Easy twist. Gaze to all fingertips. Set the hand down. Now give me a shoulder sweep to the hip and back. Do it again. Right foot outside, right hand. Easy twist. Open up those glutes and hips. Set it down. Right hand. Nice. Shoulder sweep to the back. And there we go. Other side. Left foot outside, left hand. Easy twist. Take it to the mat right here. Nice little sweep. And nice step back. Hold that plank. Hold it here. Hold for 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. Drop to your knees and roll to your backside. Glute bridges warm up the backside of the body as well. Arms can be at your side. Legs are bent at 90 degrees. Lift and lower. Just lift and lower. Go. Four. You're gonna hold at the top. And three. Nice work. Two, drive through the heels. Hold it here. Now you're gonna alternate and march. So you're gonna drop and march. Drop and march. So as you march, you lift and squeeze. March, Lift and squeeze. Nice. Go. Eight. You got it. Seven. Nice work. Six. We're gonna hold this single leg bridge in five, four, three, two, and one. Hold it here. It doesn't matter which leg. Shoot the other leg long. Point the toes. Totally Optional. You can point it up straight. Leg lower and lift. Lower with control and lift so you can bend to shorten the lever. Make it a little easier. Nice. Holding an isometric glute bridge with the opposing leg. Lower and lift. Two more. Lower and lift. Last one. Lower and lift. Switch it out. Other heel down. Other leg long. Point that toe. Lower and lift. Nice. So you're squeezing through that quad, pointing the toe is totally optional. You could always flex your foot if that feels better for you. Lift. Nice work. And lift. Nice work. You have three. Awesome. Two and one more. All the way down. You're gonna roll yourself up. Find a boat pose. Holding here behind your knees. And you're gonna hold for a three count. Option to release the hands. Hold for three, two, one. Slow. Roll back, roll yourself up. Control at the top. Hold it here. Hold for three, two and one. Roll it back, roll up and hold. Find that balance. Sit up nice and tall. Hold for 3, 2, 1. Two more just like it. Here we go. Roll back, roll up and hold. Hold for 3, 2 and 1. Last one. Finish this warm up right here. Hold it here. Hold for three and one. Nice work. We're gonna stay on the mat and we're gonna move into our first sequence. We're gonna flip over. Caroline's gonna stay on all fours, okay? So one knee will be on the mat. This will be her working leg. I'm gonna go into down dog and show you the same thing. Running. Start in Down Dog. If you're with me on the mat. If you're with Caroline, doesn't matter which leg. We're gonna do the next leg the other time through the sequence. Okay? One leg is gonna lift and lower right here. Lift and lower. Rear leg lift. Option to be in down dog. Option to be on all fours. You decide. Lift and lower. Nice work. Squeeze through that glute. You got it. Nice work. Lift and lower. Four more. You have four. Nice work. Side to side. You have eight. Seven, six. You got it. Five, four, three, two and one. Nice work. I'm going to set it down. I'm going to put my opposing knee just on here because it feels better for me. This outside leg is still going to kick back. Option it can rest on the mat. Option it can float. We're going into a three point pushup. So it's down and up, down and up. Three point push up. Because I have three points of contact on the mat. My hands and my one knee. Take it down and up. You gotta go. Eight. Nice work. Seven. Awesome job. Six. Stay with it. Yes. Five. Everything's fired up. Final four. Nice work, Nice work. For three. Come on, come on. For two. Last one, last one. We're going to go to a rear leg lift from here. Now lift and lower option. Point the toe or flex the foot. Really do whatever is more comfortable for you. In bar fashion, we're going to point the toe here. Lift and lower. Nice work. Lift and lower. Just dropping down to that one. Forearm helps out a little bit of stability. Helps the hips from rocking side to side. Keep that core focused, hip turned down. Three, hold high. In two. You got it. Last one. Hold it here. Now I'm going to have you flex the foot, hold the heel, stamp it, Extend long, flex on the curl, stamp, point on the lower. Flex on the curl. Stamp, point on the lower. Flex, stamp, point. You got it. Flex, stamp and point. Cammies, glutes, it's all working for you. Yes. Stamp. One more, one more. Hold that. Stamp, stamp. Eight, seven, six tiny stamps. You got it. Four, three, two, and one. Nice one. Work. Set it down. I'm gonna come back up on my hands here. I'm gonna draw this leg outside behind me, okay? And now I'm gonna go into a knee tuck. Lower, big side sweep out. Okay? So it's a little bit of a big hip movement right here. So take it across. Nice work here. I can scooch over. Caroline, give you some more room so we don't kick each other. There we go. All right, Here we go. Take this outside leg. Sweep it over. Okay, so I'm in, like, a curtsy position. Get your toe on the ground. Lift. Tuck the knee, hold the core. Set it down. Big sweep over. Draw it back. Tuck down, Big sweep over. Nice work. That tuck crunch. We had Abby do one of our barre workouts, and she was like, barre is so sneaky hard. So much harder than you think. I totally see it. Caroline. Right? Push up and down. Last one. Nice work. We're gonna repeat this mat sequence on the other side. That's where we go. You got two more. Lift, lower, legs. Nice work. Lift, lower and legs. Other leg, other leg. Lift we go. Lift and lower. Lift and lower. Squeezing through that glute. We're doing these same moves. Other side. Repeating this mat sequence, and then we'll go to standing, and we'll pick up the intensity just a bit. Right here. It's slow, controlled, sculpted strength for four. You got it. Three. Knee to elbow in two. Last one, last one. Hold it long. Draw the knee to elbow. Kick it back. Knee to elbow, kick it back. Nice work. Knee to elbow, Shoot it back. Awesome job. Elbow and back. We'll show them our outside leg. We'll transition this way, and we'll go right into that side plank. It'll just be much easier. Okay, so it's gonna draw outside right here.
