30-Minute Full Body Pilates Workout (Power Pilates)

In this 30‑minute at‑home Pilates class, instructor Lindsay Baumgren (of Nourish Move Love) leads a full‑body, strength‑focused Power Pilates session using a mat, bodyweight and optional 10‑lb dumbbells. The video opens with a community invitation and equipment overview, then moves through a dynamic warm‑up that activates the hips, hamstrings, calves and core. A mat‑based core and plank sequence follows, featuring walk‑out planks, shoulder taps, hip circles, cat‑cow, bird‑dog and prone lifts to build spinal stability. The workout transitions to standing strength work with dumbbells, including shoulder presses, windmills, single‑arm presses, bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, squat‑press combos, lunges with curls, and weighted glute bridges, targeting upper‑body, lower‑body and core muscles. Balance and single‑leg stability drills (hinged leg lifts, curls on one leg, hip circles) improve proprioception. A cardio shake‑out segment adds high‑intensity squat‑tap‑lift and curtsy‑swing punches to raise heart rate. The class concludes with a cooldown of glute bridges, figure‑four stretches, spinal twists, breathing work and final holds to promote recovery. Throughout, Rachel provides modifications for beginners or those needing low‑impact options, and Lindsay offers detailed form cues (e.g., “pull shoulder blades down,” “tuck tailbone,” “engage core”). The tone is enthusiastic, supportive, and instructional, encouraging viewers to subscribe, join the community, and repeat the workout.

All right, back by popular demand, another Pilates class you can do at home using just your body weight, a mat, and some dumbbells if you have them. This is going to be a pilates strength focused session, so we are definitely going to be reaching for some heavier weights. We're going for 10 pounds throughout this entire Pilates class, which I know doesn't sound like a lot, but when you are doing pilates movements, it is a lot. I'm joined by the amazing Rachel. Hi. And she's going to be offering modifications throughout today's workout, particularly in the first half of the workout when we're on the mat going through a plank sequence. Follow along with Rachel if you need some modifications. Okay. All right, you guys, we are going to jump in. Today is just flowing from one sequence to the next. We're going to start on the mat and progress our way back up to standing and then finish on the mat with core and glute. It's going to be a fun Pilates class you can do at home. Again, we'll be using 10 pound weights throughout this workout. You could use light hand weights, heavy hand weights. Use whatever you have accessible to you or do it with just your body weight. Let's jump in and get ourselves warmed up so we can get this party started. Let's go. All right, you guys, we are going to start with a nice warmup. So you're simply going to take your right knee, give it a nice little knee hug. Kick it out. Toes go up towards the ceiling. Give me a hamstring scoop. Step back. Left knee up. Hug it, kick it out. Toes up towards the ceiling and scoop. Switch it out. So hug that right knee, kick the toes to the ceiling and scoop. Nice. Warming up the hip flexor here and then stretching through the hamstrings and low back there and glutes. Nice little hug for the glutes. Nice little stretch right there. Nice. Hug it, kick it and scoop it. One more each side, you guys, one more each side. Right leg kicks out. Big scoop and reach. Left leg, hug it, Kick it. Big scoop and reach. Nice. We're gonna come all the way standing up. Nice and tall. Big reach overhead. Think about tucking your tailbone under underneath you, decreasing the space from ribs to hips. Nice strong core throughout this entire workout. Right wrist grabs left, up and over side body stretch to the right, come back to center. Give me a calf raise. Roll to the toes, back down to the heels. Up and over to the left. Big side body stretch again. Calf raise to the toes. Roll back. Do it again each way to the right. Back to center. Roll to the toes and back down to the left. Big reach back to center. Roll and drop. Nice work if you want to bring your ankles and knees to touch if that's successful to you. If you're preg face, you can take that too. Chair squats. So just take it down and up. Nice. Chair squat down and up. So I'm thinking about squeezing my knees together to activate my inner thighs or my adductors here. Dropping into a little squat. Down and up. Nice work. Go. Eight. You got it. Seven. Nice work. Six. We're gonna step back to lunges in five. Nice. Four. Three and two and one. Nice work. Right foot's gonna be solid in the front. Left foot is gonna step back, drop that left knee towards the ground. Nice stable lunge. To take your left hand to the right knee and just give me a nice little spinal twist. Come back to center. Take the right arm overhead. Nice side body reach. Do it again. Final twist and side body reach. Now go for that full range lunge and tap. Lunge Knee drive is an option. Tap it here or drive it. You got it. Go. 4. Nice work. 3. Right into high knees or marches in 2 and 1. High knees or marches. Get those knees up. 8. 7. 6. You got it. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Same thing. Other side. Left foot is stable. Right foot steps back. Right knee drops to the mat. Hover and hold here. Nice isometric hold. Right hand to left knee. Spinal rotation or twist. Bring it back to center. Up overhead. Big side body reach. Nice. Do it again. Final reach and twist. Arm overhead reach. Ready for those full range lunges. Lunge and tap. Lunge and tap. Option lunge and drive. Lunge and drive. You got it. Nice. Go. 4. Nice work. 3. Challenge that balance. 2 and 1. Nice work. Take it to the back of your space. We're gonna go for some plank walkouts. So I'm going to drop into a squat. My hands are going to hit the mat, and I'm going to walk out to a nice high plank. Hold the nice, firm high plank here. Walk back in and stand it up, wearing up the shoulders and the core. Here. Drop down, walk it out. Nice. Walk back in. This time you're going to hold your plank. I Want you to hold your plank. All right, hold it out here. Nice work. You can bring your feet together, ankles to touch if that's comfortable. Rachel's dropping to her knees. Shoulders are stacked over wrists. Core is tight. I want you to push back on your heels. Pull up on your kneecaps. Pull your shoulder blades down towards your hips. And apart from each other, hold this solid plank for 4, 3, 2 and 1. Step your right foot outside your right hand. Give me an easy twist. You're reaching towards the ceiling. That should feel really good. To stretch the glutes. Now sweep that arm to the back for three, two, and one. Set it down. Switch it out. Step the left foot outside the left hand. Take a nice easy twist here. Gaze follows fingertips. Hold here, opening up the hips and the glutes. And sweep the arm to the back for 4, 3, 2, and 1. Awesome job. From here, I want you to push up and back to down. Dog pedal out your heels. Take a big inhale to your tiptoes. Exhale. Melt your calves down to the mat. Bend your knees so they're hovering off the mat. Now drop them right down to the mat. Come to a tabletop position. All four, shoulders over wrist, hips over knees. Holding here, take a cat cow. Drop the belly. Lift the chin, reverse it. Tuck the spine up towards the ceiling. Tuck the chin to the chest. Now bring it to a nice neutral spine. We're going to take our hips through a full controlled range of motion. You're going to draw a big circle with your kneecap. Take it up and around and then reverse it. Take it up and around. Nice. Up and around. So I'm thinking about drawing a big circle or like 3/4 of a circle with my kneecap. Taking it nice through a nice full range of motion. One more here. Nice. Now, can you bring this right leg up? Plant the heel, open this leg up to a 45 degree angle and just tick tock your arms down. Nice. You're pushing your right knee into or right elbow into your right knee, opening up those hips. Nice. Now come back. Point your toes of that right foot out towards me. Option to drop down for a nice stable position here to the left forearm and lift and lower this leg. Go. Four. Nice work. Three, activating those outer glutes. Two and one. Awesome job. Come back to that tabletop position. Draw a big circle with your left knee. So up, open and around. Nice. Take it back. Nice big controlled range of motion. Warming up and activating that glute Med, outer glutes, adductors, abductors Those hip muscles that support your pelvic floor and your pelvis. One more. Nice work. Now draw that left leg up right here. Open it to the side. Tick tock the arms down, pushing left elbow into left knee to open up those hips. Awesome job. Bring it back to center. Kick that left leg out. Toes are pointing right here at us. Drop down to that right elbow, and you're going to lift and lower. Lift and. And lower. Activating those outer glutes again for 3, 2, and 1. Nice work, you guys. Drop back to the knees. Go ahead. Tuck those toes up and back and push back into down dog. Pedal out those heels one more time. Shift forward into that high plank. Hold here. If it's accessible to you, lower all the way down to your belly. If not, you can stay in a tabletop position. Go into bird dog. Otherwise, right here, you're just going to squeeze your shoulder blades together. Prone lift offs right here. Squeeze the shoulder blades together. Squeeze. Nice work. Go. Four. You got it. Three. Nice work. Two and one. Push up and back. Open the knees. Sit the hips back. Child pose. Just reaching those fingertips as far away from you as you can. Opening up your hips. Big inhale through the nose. Big open mouth. Exhale through the mouth. You ready to get into this workout, Rachel? We are going to do it. Okay, you guys, we're gonna go to the side just so you can see us a little bit better. We're gonna start in a plank sequence on the ground. Follow Rachel for modifications. We're gonna start in a down dog. Okay, so you're gonna plant your hands, tuck your toes, push the hips up and back down dog, find stability here. Let's go for one more. Inhale to the toes. Exhale heels to the mat. Find stability here. Can you lift your right heel towards the ceiling? Right heel towards the ceiling. Squeeze that glute. Hold it here. Now draw right knee to right elbow. Hold it here. Kick it out. Option to drop to the knees with Rachel or stay here in a three point push up. Lower the chest. Push up. Set both feet down. Hips go up and back this time. Left heel to the ceiling. Squeeze the glute. Hold it here. Draw left knee to left elbow. Nice. Kick it back. Option to drop to the knees or hold here in this three point push up, down, up. Set the feet down. Push back down dog. Back to the right foot. Heel to the ceiling. Right knee, right elbow. Kick it back. Three point push up. Down, up. Set it down. Push back. Left heel, left heel to the ceiling. Left heel, left to elbow. Kick it back. Three Point. Push up. Down, up. Set down. Do it again. Right heel to the ceiling. Right knee. Right elbow. Kick it back. Float it. Push up. Nice work. Set it down. Push back on the left side. Here we go. Lift. Elbow to knee. Kick back and push up. One more time each side, guys. This is it. Down, dog. Right. Heel to the ceiling. Right elbow, right knee. Kick it back. Three point. Push up. Set it down. Push back. Down, dog. Left. Heel to the ceiling. You got it. Left elbow to knee. Kick it back. Push up and hold. Just hold this plank. Shoulders stacked over wrists, knees or toes. Hold it here. Yes, you can. You're such a strong plank. Pull the shoulder blades apart. Pull up on the kneecaps. Push back on the heels. Hold here. You got it. Final five. Four, Three, two. And drop to the knees. Awesome work. Come back to facing you guys. Moving on that move we did in the warmup. Right toes, kick out to the side. Drop down to that left forearm. Activating these outer glutes here. You're going to lift and tap or hover. Lift and tap. Lift and tap. Little side leg lift. Hitting the outer glute. Outer glute. Mead upper glute. Nice. Right there. I want you to lift. Eight. You got it. Seven. Nice work. Six. We're gonna add the weights. And five. Come on. Four. You got this. Three. Nice strong core. 2. And 1. Reach for a weight. Hold it here. Weight is going to come into my right hand. Staying in this position, you're going to take the weight, punch it up overhead. Take the left hand, drop it to the mat. Cinch up. Shoulder press. Drop down. Come up, shoulder press. Now you can stay here. Rachel's going to stay right here. Shoulder press. I'm going to try and take my left elbow to the mat. Greater range of motion. Come up. Shoulder press. Left elbow to the mat. Nice. So it's like a standing windmill hitting my core. My obliques are cinching me up and press. Drop, lift and punch. Either way, my eyes go up to that weight. That weight stays stacked right on top of my shoulder. Two more. Two more. Drop, lift and press. Last one, last one. Drop, lift and press. Nice work. Set that weight down right here on the mat. You're going to go back into a plank position. Rachel can take it into a kneeling plank if she'd like. She can go shoulder taps. I'm going to go toe taps. Tap side to side. Tap those toes side to side. Tap and tap. You got it. Eight. Seven, six. You got it. Five. Four, Three, two and one. Nice work. We're going to Switch sides. So this time, I'm going to kick my left toes out, right forearm to the ground for stability. Right here. Side leg lift on the left leg. Lift and tap. You want to point those toes if that's available to you. Lift and tap again. We're hitting those outer glutes. You're going to feel your obliques turn on here too. Rachel, lift. And my glute on my other legs. You're stabilizing leg. The stabilizing leg is always working, typically just as hard. Nice lift. Eight. You got it. Seven. Nice work. Six. Stay with it. Final five. Nice. Four. And three and two and one. Keep it here. Find that weight in the left hand. Okay, same thing. Punch it overhead. Right hand hits the mat, come up. Single arm press on the left. Right hand hits the mat, come up. Single arm press. You can stay here again. You can drop down if it's available to. Try and go to that elbow. Greater range of motion. Try and go to that elbow. Last one. Last one and one. We got one more move from the ground. Take that weight. Hold it in both hands right here. Shoelaces down, our toes down on the ground. We're gonna activate the quads and shoulders. I'm gonna slightly lower my butt towards my heels, firing up my quads as I lift the dumbbell. On a four count. So we go back, 2, 3, 4. Bring it up, 2, 3, 4. Lift on the back, 2, 3, 4. Lower on the up, 2, 3, 4 dot Come up, 2, 3, 4. Little thigh dancing they call this. I was trying to find a word for that. Down, two, three.
