Ab Challenge Day 2: 10-Minute Standing Abs

In this 10‑minute standing ab workout, Lindsey Baumgren of Nourishment Love guides viewers through a sequence of five core‑focused standing exercises performed in 40‑second work intervals with 20‑second rests, repeated twice. The routine includes hip circles, windmill side bends, standing knee‑to‑elbow crunches, single‑leg deadlifts with front kicks (or heel taps), and cross‑body crunch‑to‑toe kicks. Throughout, Lindsey provides breathing cues, core‑engagement imagery (e.g., “abs wrap around you like a corset”), balance tips, modification options offered by assistant Caroline, and optional equipment suggestions (e.g., holding a dumbbell). The video emphasizes full‑body engagement, heart‑rate elevation, and controlled movement, while encouraging viewers to adjust speed for intensity, maintain proper form, and stay motivated. The session ends with a brief cool‑down reminder, a high‑five from Caroline, and a call to subscribe and explore additional core workouts.

Hi, I'm Lindsey Baumgren of Nourishment Love, and this is your 10 minute standing ab workout. If you love home workouts, hit subscribe to our YouTube channel. All right, you guys, we got 10 minutes. ABS all standing. Okay? You have five moves. You're doing each exercise for 40 seconds of work, followed by 20 seconds of rest. We do it times two, and I have the amazing Caroline. Hello. She is going to be offering some modifications if you need them throughout this standing ab workout. It is going to be quick and effective, and we are going to knock it out. No warm up. We're jumping right, right in. So your first exercise, we're actually going to stand. We're going to challenge your balance right away. Hence, engage that core. So big. Inhale, belly expands. Exhale. Just like shoelaces wrap around a shoe, your abs wrap around you like a corset. From here, the right leg, soft bend in my left standing leg is going to draw big hip circles. And then you're going to reverse it and bring it back. I want you to place your hands on your core so you can feel what core muscles work as you do this. We go in 3, 2, and 1. So big hip circle. Think about drawing a big controlled circle. Bring it back. Reverse that movement with your knee. Big hip circle. And then reverse it. So of course, you'll feel your hips and glutes fire up a little bit too. But as I go through this low abs, obliques really fire right there. Bring it back. And there's those obliques again. Nice. All these small stabilizing muscles that stabilize this gluten hip are also turned on. All right. So much more to the core than just our six pack ab muscles. It's all turned on. You got 10 more seconds right here. Nice work. We'll do the other leg the second time through. We're gonna move on in 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. Set it down from here. My left leg is gonna stay facing you. Right toes are gonna come out to the side. We're gonna go into a windmill. So I'm gonna glide the back of my right hand down the inside of my right leg. And then I'm stand up singing through these obliques. I'm gonna be working my opposing obliques that we just worked. All right, we're gonna glide that right hand down in 3, 2, and 1. I'm looking up at my fingertips of my opposing hand. Nice. Taking it down. Glide, glide, glide. And then cinching up. As you stand, think about really cinching through those oblique muscles. To stand you up nice and tall. Take it down, down, down, slow and control. And then stand it up nice and tall. You got it. Really cinch through those obliques as you stand up. Right there. Take it down and pull it back up. Nice. I stay on the fingertips. You could always add a dumbbell to this. Putting a dumbbell right here would stay stacked over the shoulder the entire time. Nice work. You're here for 5, 4, 3, 2. Give me one more. Stand it up. Awesome job. From here, we're gonna go to a standing crunch. Hands are gonna come behind the head, Knee to elbow, knee to elbow. Slow and controlled standing crunches. All right, roll those shoulders down and back, bend in my knees, Bring those hands up behind my head. If it's comfortable for you. We're going to take left elbow, right knee in three, two. Let's go. Crunch and crunch. Nice. Transferring that weight from side to side. Nice. Pulling knee to elbow. Nice. Right there. Not yanking on the neck. Just really trying to get that knee to elbow connection by pulling that knee up to meet that elbow. Awesome job. You got it. You take this all at your pace. It's all timed in intervals. It is your 40 seconds of work. Awesome job. You are already in the final 10 here. 10 seconds. Nice work. We're gonna go back to a balance move in 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. Awesome job. Let's go. Since we went standing on the left leg, let's stand on the left leg again. Right leg is going to float behind me. I'm going to do a single leg deadlift. I'm going to tap down, come up, and then I'm going to do a front kick right there. Okay. Instead of a kick, Caroline's going to give you a heel tap and a staggered ST. We go single leg deadlift in 3, 2, 1. Right hand reaches down, taps that left toe, comes up slow, controlled pattern, and kicks out in front of me. Soft bend in that standing left leg, tap down, come up and kick out again. You're moving through this really controlled. You could always take your hands right on that core again so you could feel what's truly working here. As I kick out, I hinge back, hit those low abs. Nice. Take it down. Tap, kick out, hit those low abs. Awesome job. You got it. Keep flowing. Right here. 10 seconds. Nice work. Strong, stable leg. 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. Awesome work. We have one more move. One more move. We're gonna go back. We'll stand on our left leg. Right leg is gonna move again. This time, we're gonna go crunch and opposite toe. So crunch. Opposite toe. It's a crunch and a kick. Opposite hand, opposite toe, opposite elbow. Oppos start with the knee in three, two. Let's go. Knee, toe, knee, toe. You got at your pace. You can always slow it down. You can always shorten that lever. You don't have to go for that full kick. You got it. Knee, toe, knee, toe. Nice work. This is move five of five. From here, we repeat these five moves. Yes. Nice work, team. Stay with it. I love how standing abs gets your heart rate up, right? Like, it's like a full body move. Truly, every move we're doing is really a full body move. Nice. You have 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Nice work. Walk it off. And we're gonna repeat those moves. So we're gonna start with those single leg, standing hip rotations. Standing on my right leg, left knee is gonna draw those big circles again. You can really feel those left obliques fire up right here. Soft bend in that standing leg. We're drop big circles with our left knee in three, two. Let's go. So it's a big circle back, and then you're just going to reverse that movement. Nice, slow, controlled pattern. Find that focal point on the floor. Soft bend in that standing leg. You could always grab a counter, a chair, something to hang on to and balance with. Nice work. Really feel those obliques get through that full range of motion. Nice. Awesome work, team. Want to go to that windmill in ten seconds? Stay with it. Right here. Last five, four, three, two, and one. Set it down. So right toes are going to stay facing you. Left toes are going to go out to the side here. Left hand is going to glide down the inner thigh. And then I'm going to cinch myself up right here through these obliques. All right? Eyes are going to be up on my fingertips on that right hand. Okay? Take that left hand to the back of that inner thigh. We go in three, two. Let's go. Glide it down, down, down, down, down, and stand it up. Range of motion can look a little bit different for everybody. Find a stance that's comfortable and works for you. What I really want you to think about is cinching through these obliques, your side ab muscles as you stand up nice and tall. Right there. Hinge, hinge, hinge, hinge, hinge. Stand up and cinch through these side ab muscles. Nice work. Awesome job, guys. One rep at a time, making the most of these 10 minutes together. Hitting each side. Stand it up nice and tall. Awesome work. You're in the final five, four, Three. Let's do one more. Two and one. Awesome job. Back to that standing crunch. Hands are going to go behind the head. Back to that alternating, alternating knee to elbow crunch. Yes. Again. You can speed this up if you want to raise your heart rate a little bit more like Caroline was saying. Or you can take it slow and controlled. We're going to go right elbow or right knee? Left elbow in three, two. Let's go. Crunch and crunch. Nice work. Nice. Opposite knee, opposite elbow. Nice. Hold at the top for a second. It's a really controlled movement. Control each rep. I honestly think sometimes going slower is harder. You could always choose to go a little bit faster if you want to pick up that heart rate. Right here. Nice work. Awesome job. 10 seconds, team. 10. Come on, let's go. Finish it right here. Last four. Three, two, and one. Nice work. All right, single leg deadlift. Other leg. This time, standing on your right leg. Left leg can be behind you or float back. You're going to give me that single leg deadlift option. Woo. Find that balance. Kick back, sit back and kick. Front kick or heel tap with Caroline. We go in three, two. Let's go. Single leg deadlift up. Nice. You might notice one side feels easier than the other. Totally normal. Take it at your pace. Soften an upstanding leg. Find that focal point. Sit back on that front kick. Feel those low abs turn on. Nice. Gotta find that focal point on the ground. Get super focused for this move. Slow and steady for move four. We'll pick it up for move five. Crossbody crunch. Opposite toe to hand in five, four, three, two, and one. Nice work. All right, standing on your right leg. Left leg is going to move through that pattern. Crunch and kick. That is your last move in this 10 minute ABS. Let's finish strong. Here we go. You're there. Soft bend in that standing right leg. Left knee to elbow, hands behind the head. We go in three, two. Let's go. Let's go. Crunch, kick, crunch, kick. Nice work. Crunch, kick, crunch. Nice. Last move. 10 minute abs. Finish strong. Boom. Awesome job, guys. Nice work. Stay with it. Stay with it. Boom. You got it right here. Nice work. What would it look like If I said 10 more seconds? Yes, you can. Final finish right here. It's 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. Nice work, Caroline. High fives to you at home. Awesome job. We'd love to see you back on the mat for another workout soon. Have a great day.
