Lower Abs Exercises For Flat, Toned Stomach

Lindsay demonstrates three lower-abs exercises using a stability ball or throw pillow: alternating toe taps, toe pokes, and bicycle leg raises. All three keep your core engaged with the pillow under your lower back, and you can adjust difficulty by changing leg position.

Give it to me. I met a boy last week trying to run that game. Hi, it's Lindsay with Nourishment love, and I have an awesome core workout for you guys. Okay. It's one of my favorites. It's for the lower abs. That little pooch. We all get that. Everyone's like, how do I work my lower abs? This is how to do it. So I have a ball here. This is what we use in the barre studio. You probably don't have one of these at home. No worries. Grab one of those $30 throw pillow that you have sitting on your couch from Target that you never use. My husband always complains about, grab that and you're going to throw that under your back. So we're going to go all the way down to our back right here. I'm taking my blue ball. You take your throw pillow, put it under the small of your back right here. Bring the legs up at a 90 degree angle. Okay? Pull that core in nice and tight. The closer your knees are to the body, the easier it is. The farther they are, the harder it is. So keep my legs nice and far away from me. If I can point my toes, tap and tap. Alternating toe tap, right? Okay, that's exercise number one. Tap and tap. Really engaging that low core. And then bring it up to that 90 degree angle and pretend like you're poking someone with your toes. I don't know why you could do that. Go every 10, just poking out and out, keeping those low abs really tight and engaged. This ball's adding a ton of extra stability and balance, engaging all my little stabilized muscles. And then move number three is a bicycle. Out and out. Keep the legs as straight as you can. Option, you can always keep bent and keep it small, but strive for that big range of motion with that ball. Okay? And those are your three moves for the lower abs that you can use with your $30 throw pillow that you never use and put it to good use so your husband can't complain and he can find his throw pillows. All right, you guys enjoy this one and get that lower core. Have a great.
