In this conversational Q&A video, Lindsey Bomgren and her behind‑the‑scenes partner Rachel answer ten viewer‑submitted questions about life after the birth of a second child. Lindsey shares her postpartum workout timeline (starting four weeks after Bella’s birth), the physical challenges she faced compared to her first pregnancy (greater diastasis recti, pelvic floor issues, hemorrhoids), and how she fits exercise into a busy household (early mornings or nap‑time sessions, now training four to five days a week). She points viewers to a 10‑minute beginner ab routine on her blog, discusses the mental versus physical aspects of recovery, and recommends a three‑month social‑media break during maternity leave. Lindsey also reflects on the difficulty of moving from one to two children, offering a relaxed mindset (“if they’re crying, they’re breathing”) and shares her favorite moments with her two kids. The segment ends with a teaser for next month’s meal‑prep Q&A and contact details for submitting questions.

Hi, I'm Lindsay. This is Rachel. She's my right hand lady. You probably haven't seen her on camera, but she does a ton of nourishment love behind the scenes. We also have a beautiful Bella with us here. She's still at home with me but going to daycare at the end this month. So she's joining us, which is fitting because we're starting a new Q and A video series which is what this is. This month's topic is Life after baby. So life with two kids. What it looks like. You've submitted 10 questions. We're gonna answer them Q and A style and we'll get more details in the blog post below.
But we're just gonna jump right in.
What do you have? Let's get it.
When did start working out?
After Bella was born? Around four weeks. Four weeks after she was born. Jumped in a couple days a week and slowly have progressed up from there.
Has this recovery been different from the first baby?
Yes. Harder for sure. My doctor or ab separation diastasis recti was three fingers this time. Once I had her got it down to 1.5. Now my pelvic floor, hemorrhoids. My body was a lot harder this time. Yes.
How do you work out with two kids?
Early mornings before they're up or nap time workouts at home in my basement is the curtain situation.
How many days are you currently working out?
Currently four to five days. So I started with like two to three, three to four. Now I'm in the four to five range of three months postpartum. When this goes live it'll be four months postpartum.
What are the best postpartum core exercises?
Have one of those on the blog. My 10 minute beginner ab workout. I've been doing that about 3 times a week and link it below this post.
Has this maternity leap been easier, the same or harder and why?
That's a tough one. But I would say mentally it's easier. Physically it's been harder and like overall very similar. So mentally harder I didn't. I have less anxiety, feel less crazy. Physically harder hemorrhoids and doctor and all those things that come with it. And then the same as far as like marriage and finding time for each other. What would you add or do differently.
In your next maternity leave?
I would take a social media break for all three months instead of just one because it was amazing.
What tips do you have for going from 1 to 2?
2 kids. This is tough. I don't have an answer for this one. I would say I'm still figuring it out. But my answer would be, my motto has changed. I've chilled out a lot. I've gotten a lot chiller about, like, the house being clean and all that crazy OCD control free stuff that bothers me. And my new motto has been, if they're crying, they're breathing. So. Woo.
What's your favorite part of being a mom?
2. Two moments come to mind when Brody, who's now 2 and A, looks at me and says, I love you, mommy. Completely unprompted. It just like melts my heart. And for her is when I'm feeding her and she just pulls out of me on that, she'll look up at me and give me the world's biggest smile. So love those moments. Didn't realize my heart could love two little humans as much.
A third baby on the horizon.
