Lindsey Burwell talks with Felicia Romero about healing from trauma and autoimmune issues through meditation, EMDR therapy, and vagus-nerve regulation. Romero shares her recovery from competitive bodybuilding and binge-eating, and walks through practical biohacking tools like BrainTap and grounding techniques.
I process years of grief, 48 hours. Like, that's how powerful meditation is. When you can drop into different levels of brain state, you tap into your subconscious, your subconscious mind, the mind that's actually ruling your life. Welcome to the Biohack Method. I am Lindsey Burwell. I break down the science, cut the fluff, and give you real tools to optimize your body with peptides, transdermal patches, and root cause biohacking that actually works.
Hey, friends, before we jump into today's episode, I want to take a second and say thank you so much. Truly, the love and support around the launch of this podcast has just, like, blown me away in the live event last week, honestly, it was just beyond what I could have ever imagined. I really intentionally thought over that space, asking that every single person who came would receive exactly the message they needed. And truly, the energy in the room was so powerful. We really laid the foundation of what it truly takes to biohack and optimize, starting with the most important piece, your mindset, your nervous system, and your ability to transform from the inside out. So, again, thank you so much for celebrating with me, following, liking, commenting, sharing, and just even like coming up to me and telling me, like, I listen to your podcast. I loved it, truly. It means so, so much. And just thank you for being on this journey with me. Now let's drive straight into the conversation we had with Felicia Romero at the Biohacking Method Live launch. You will not want to miss this. Listen all the way through.
Actually, with. I actually want to welcome Felicia because she's amazing and we're going to have a really, really deep, powerful conversation that I think a lot of people here are going to resonate with. But Felicia, if you want to come hang out with me, absolutely, let's hang out. She really is the one who gave me the. I gave me the confidence.
So exciting.
She's the one who gave me the confidence to do this podcast, to step into, you know, authenticity and being brave and being audacious. And what I loved about Felicia, I was very wowed. So Felicia has lived many lives. She has been on Sports Illustrated. She's been on Sports Illustrated all over TV news channel. She's done body figure competitions.
Yeah.
She's owned gyms. She likes coaches, people on business. She does investments. She's all these things, right? And so I'm talking with her about health and I'm like, clearly, you know everything, so you know you've done it all. And like, then we start peeling back the layers of like, what health and optimization is. And that's really the conversation when we were planning this. I'm like, I want you to come so we can exchange some of this and get a little deeper than, like, how biohacking and optimizing is just not what you eat, and it's just not the exercise.
Yeah.
There's some deep layers there that need to happen. So thanks for being here, and thanks for letting me be brave.
Yeah. And how incredible is this? All of these women showing up for you, which is so incredible. It's just a testament to you. And I do believe that when we attract certain people in our lives, they are mirrors of us. Right. They're mirrors of us. So this is such a testament to you. Are we gonna sit?
Yeah, we'll. We'll get cozy.
I feel weird standing here. I know.
And I'm like, you talk and then it's like, my mouth is dry and.
Let me just say, embarrass it. Embarrassment and cringe is sort of the cost of admission. Especially if you want to be seen. Right. Especially if you want to, like, grow a brand. Like, expand, evolve. Cringe and embarrassment is literally the cost of admission. So good for showing up.
Let's be cringy. We're in our cringy. We're in our cringy era.
Yes.
Okay. So I had shared, you know, all the things you've done. You've done probably every diet, counted every macro. You've done every workout.
Yes.
You've probably done every supplement. And so, like, looking back on your life and, like, all these things you did to be healthy, how does that, Felicia, look and feel compared to where you are today? And, like, what would you say, like, shifted for you?
That's such a good question. So I'm 43, and I believe that I look and feel better now at 43 than I did at 23. So let me, like, back up and give you a little bit of context to my story. So I was going to college, went to Arizona State, played softball. I was on a full ride scholarship, and I played my first couple of years, and I was also studying law. So I took my LSAT for law school, have my bachelor's in political science. And I also grew up in a household. I'm a Mexican household. Like, my mom actually, like, showed us love by feeding us more. So I didn't. Like, my mom never talked about calories. She never talked about her body. She loved her body. So I didn't really have that growing up. It wasn't until I got into college and I found Competing. So are any of you familiar with IFBB Figure Pro competing? Okay, so I was an IFBB Figure Pro. I competed for about nine years. And that's a long time. A long time to not only be on a diet, but go through the yo yo of what it takes to be at that level, right? And so in college, I saw a sign for this local competition and I was like, I want to do that just because I love challenging myself. I also was so green to dieting, so I didn't. I didn't really know how to diet, right? And so my very first competition prep is also the very first time that I ever did a binge eating episode. Are you guys familiar with that? Like, I literally ate so much. And so there's a, there's a difference between, like, oh, I kind of overate today and I have a stomachache. Like, no, like, I was a binge eater. I, like, you would be shocked at what I would eat. And it was because I was in that restrictive state for so long, right, That I started to develop early on this yo yo cycle of restrictive eating. Binge eating, restrictive eating, binge eating. Little did I know that that first binge would be years of, of that struggle, right? And so looking back, yes, Done every diet, done all the things, you know, one of the things I realized in some of the work that I've done and what, how I show up now and how I convey health and wellness, it's more than just the physical, right? It's more than just the physical look. And I think, you know, if you can't love yourself, throw a size out, size 16, size 20, whatever the size is, then you're not going to love yourself at a size six or four or two, whatever that is for you. And so I had to go through that. I'm actually thankful for my journey because if I didn't go through those things, you know, you can't, you can't love yourself now if you're. If you don't love yourself back then, right? And so, you know, through that, through the competing and all of that, I really developed this knowledge inside of me where I was like, gosh, I don't want to live like that anymore. I don't want to live on. It was. It was actually a moment. I remember the last time that I knew I wanted to get help and I knew that I needed to change. And I was done competing and I had gained about 40 pounds in eight weeks, which is. It's hard. That's incredible on the body. And I remember walking through the grocery store. It was Thanksgiving. And I remember feeling and thinking, I no longer want to be consumed by food every day. From waking up to what I ate to when I got went to bed. How am I going to burn this off? What am I going to eat today? Like, how many of you, like, have that food noise? Right. And I realized, like, I spend so much time and energy thinking about what I'm gonna eat and how I'm gonna burn it off, that I'm actually. It's actually keeping me from my purpose. Right. It's keeping me from doing those big, passionate things. And so. And it's so funny. Cause I. I did get the help, and I did change, and I released the weight, and I, you know, got rid of the body dysmorphia. And I was able to really, like, get to a place where I not only say that I love myself, but I truly, truly love myself. And it wasn't the typical way. Like, a lot of people are like, what did you eat to get there? Like, what did you do? What was the workout that you did to finally, like, get it? And it wasn't any of that. It was actually pretty shocking. And what I did. Can I share?
Yeah, please.
Number one, I actually stopped following people online. That made me feel bad about myself. And it wasn't even, like, anything against them. Like, there was nothing wrong with them. It was me. It was a trigger for me. Like, oh, my gosh, this extreme lifestyle, it's actually very triggering for me. It no longer is. Like, I'm fine now, but I had to unfollow all the people that actually created that. That lack of belief in myself. Okay, so, like, how many of you have had to, like, unfollow people?
Yeah.
Because it, like, was a trigger or something that just maybe didn't make you feel good. So I had to go through that. Number two. And I know this is so drastic, but I actually. I moved cities. I had a business. I used to own a gym called Prophysiques, if you're familiar with.
Where was that at? Here.
Pro physiques. Yeah, it was on Gilbert and Ray.
Okay.
And now it's. It's moved. But my business partners before.
Yeah, I was trying to figure out, like, where is that gym at?
Yeah, yeah.
And then where did you move to?
They moved to Williamsfield.
Oh, okay.
And something. But I was an original owner. So many people don't know that story. I don't share it often online because I think, you know, again, back to, like, not. I don't want to like, throw people under the bus or throw, like, past partnerships under the bus. But, like, sometimes you have bad partnerships, and sometimes they don't work out. And so that environment, because it was such a competitive, very like. Like. Like more of the. I don't even want to say narcissistic, but just, like, everything was very, like, physical that I had to change my environment. So I literally sold my business. I sold off half my portion, and I moved cities just so that I wouldn't have to drive. Like, I know that's. That's drastic, but sometimes, like, think about a woman who, like, I know we talk about this. The woman who cuts her hair and, like, everything changes. The woman who leaves the state and, like, I have a friend right now who, like, literally sold everything, and she moved abroad to Europe, and she's going through a major life shift. Right. Sometimes those things just need to happen in order to, like, be that catalyst for change in your life. And for me, that was the catalyst. And then I saw a therapist. Yeah. So I started doing something called emdr. And I realized that the validation that I was seeking from everyone else and the validation that I needed for my body and the accolades again, eldest daughter. So I struggle with eldest daughter syndrome. Like, needing to do more, needing the accolades that actually, wow. A lot of it stemmed from things that happened in childhood. Right. Abandonment and, you know, my dad leaving. And I just realized, wow, there's so much work that needs to be done. And what I realized, too, especially levels in business, as you, like, start to do more and you get to that next level in business, it's just another layer that you get to uncover that is within you that you realize, wow, I still have more work to do. So, yeah, that's kind of been my story.
I love that. So what would. Like, what are some things you're doing? Like today, Like, a week of Felicia? So let's say you, you know, you went through a journey. Or maybe, like, some of you are like, I. I need a major shift in my life. I need to remove myself from a situation to, like, bring on the alignment of, like, you know, who I want to become, who. What I want to embody. Sometimes that is like, changing your sphere of influence. Like, you are like, the average. What is it? The average of the five people you surround yourself with, the music you listen to, the podcast listen to. So, like, you went through a season of probably, like, really doing deep, deep work intentionally every day. So what about, like, today, like, fast forward to Felicia today. Still love exercise. Like, what are some ways, though, that you are optimizing your health in your body, like, in the mindset and the nervous system and in the health to kind of create some homeostasis there.
Ooh, I like this qu. I remember my 40th birthday a few years back. I held an alter ego party, and it was so funny. Like, all my girlfriends, we did, like, wigs. We were an alter ego. We even chose different names. We had, like, different name tags. I think I was. What was my name? Veronica.
That is.
I don't know why. I always used to name my Barbies Veronica.
Do that. That would be so fun.
Veronica and Shelly. I always name my Barbies Veronica and Shelly for some reason. I don't know why. And so I remember being asked this question, because I do. I feel better. I'm not kidding you. I feel better in my 40s than I did in my 20s. And I hate when, like, a Facebook photo pops up from the memories of, like, 2012. I cringe because I had the thinnest eyebrows and. And the things I used to say. I was like, oh, gosh, that's a cringe moment for sure. But, like, what I do now. And I remember being asked this question. So we were all in at dinner at Maple and Ash, and it was a big group of us, and someone asked me, like, felicia, like, what advice do you want to give to us that just you feel and look better in your 40s than you do, you know, when you were younger? And I always said, it's the three S's. Sleep. Definitely get a lot of sleep. I monitor it with my aura ring. Sleep is so essential.
Yeah. What's your sleep score today?
Sleep score today? Actually, I had trouble sleeping last night because I didn't wear the detox pack. I think it was, like, 85.
Oh, my gosh. My sister text me. So she went to Vegas. Probably had too much to drink, and she was like, I did not. I didn't sleep good last night. Didn't wear my detox. But when I Woke up at 5am I put it on, and then I slept till noon, and I slept so good. I'm, like, truly, like, detoxing. Actually, the biggest part of detoxing happens in the middle of the night between, like, 12 and 2am so that's why I created the patch to go over your liver, and you wear it at night to maximize that process. And so it's funny because, like, you think of detoxing, but what the feedback I'm getting is, like, I'm sleeping so good.
Yeah.
Like, and I'm like, yeah, because, like, the. With you, if your liver is congested, if you have sugar, metabolism problems, like, that's what's waking you up in the middle of night and disrupting quality of sleep.
So.
So, yeah, that's so fun.
So important.
Sleep. I used to forget the.
Well, yeah, the patch has been so helpful, but I was literally in my 20s and 30s. I was the epitome of toxic hustle culture. I was like, yeah, team no sleep. And I wore it like a badge of honor. Like, I'm like, what? You know, and it actually burned me out. And I was so burnt out that, you know, I would not want to show up for my business. I would not want to show up for myself. And so sleep is so important. And I prioritize sleep now. So having a sleep routine and, you know, all of those things. Number two, stress management. So, like, I can honestly say, like, the stress that I have in my life, I also believe too, you know, as you start to grow and expand as a person, you'll realize that the stress that used to actually really, like, cause a lot of anxiety as you start to grow, doesn't really matter anymore. Right? Like, I ask myself, like, the old Felicia, would she have, like, would this has stressed her out, right? And so, um, for me, that looks like grounding. It looks like sunlight. It looks like having slow mornings. I am not the entrepreneur that's like, I'm going to get up at 5am and I'm going to do a green juice and meditate and sauna and cold plunge.
All before.
All before. Sorry if that's you. I love that for you. I love that.
I love you. 5:00am Morning.
I love that.
5:00Am, morning.
Finding what works for you. I also don't have any kids.
I live a life before my kids wake up. I swear, it's lunchtime at 6am Like, I am like, yeah, I love that for Lindsay. But you know what? I will say I am. I am trying to make some changes more so in the sense of, like, okay, because I have so much energy in the morning. Like, I could run. I could run a marathon. And I'm like, I want to do all the things, but I am being a little more intentional with starting my day with some meditation. And I actually, like, totally challenge you guys. I feel like meditation can be a little bit of a buzzword and, like, it could be uncomfortable because you're like, I can't just sit here and think of nothing. I really hate sitting still myself. But I will tell you, when I was at that Biohacking conference. That's basically all we did. And we used light and sound therapy and all these things. And I'm telling you, like, I went, I processed years of grief in 24 or 48 hours. Like, that's how powerful meditation is. When you can drop into different levels of brain states. You tap into your subconscious, like, your subconscious mind, the mind that's actually ruling your life. Like, the mind that is dictating everything you do in the background. You just have literally no idea. And so meditation is a vehicle to tap into those levels of brain states, to honestly, like, what I experience when I do this. And this is why I'm like, in an era of like, really being motivated by it. Because for me, like, you like, it. Health used to be like, the things I ate and the things I did. And like, now it's like so much more than that. It's like really deep layers of subconscious work, of nervous system work. Right. And so when I do that, I. You guys, you experience, like, it's almost like you come out of your body, you realize, like, this body is just a physical body and, like, our soul is really what matters. Yeah. And like, our soul is like, there's so much abundant love. So much abundant love. And I get like insane downloads, you guys. Like, since I've been meditating, I've probably 10x my life, I'm telling you. Like, and my health, I feel more resilient in the foods that I eat. This is really important, actually. So when I do metabolic scans with clients, we'll do an intake, and they have a perfect diet. Like, perfect diet, perfect supplement, perfect everything. But they feel like crap. They're inflamed, their metabolism sucks, they can't lose weight, their hormones are all the place, all the things, right. But everything else is perfect. And their scan will show adrenals and emotions, meaning that their body can't receive the goodness of their actions because their cells don't feel self safety. Right? And us as a society going back to like, hustle culture, we don't glamorize meditation and breath work and mindset work. Like, we. It's like, there's not enough time to do it. There's a thousand things first we have to do, to accomplish, to feel value and all that. So I really, like, I hope this inspires you to, like, take time. And I'm trying to say, like, I try to motivate myself to do this too, because when you can do this work, like nervous system meditation work, like, you will experience visions of your potential and you will get downloads for your life and you will experience love for people that you thought you could never love again. And that alone. That alone senses self safety. And suddenly your body works. Yeah. And suddenly powerful. Like everything is in alignment and it's just the power. One more thing. It's just the power of our thoughts. One thing I started reading more about too, is the power of our thoughts. There's studies done like the power of your thoughts. They've taken DNA under a microscope. And when you speak negative thoughts and negative beliefs and you're so ugly, it literally breaks DNA. It breaks part of your DNA. It changes the chemistry inside your body. When you speak love and light, it can actually repair DNA. Like, I listen to Joe Dispenza at this conference. He's worked with people who've had their colon removed from cancer. No colon. And their body rebuilt their colon from powerful meditations, getting into deep brain states.
Wow.
Their body recreated. So like, I empower that to you guys to know, like, your body is not broken, it is on your side. Your doing all the things. Right. But tap into that piece that might be missing in your wellness routine, your biohacking routine. And that is the work. And it's not fun.
Yeah. And you gotta find out what works for you. You know, just like, what works for Lindsay may not work for me just because I've lived that. Like, I've actually, like, gotten rid of the checklists in my life just because I lived by them for so long. But some may need them. Right?
And so, okay, how did you stop living by checklist? I'm like, I love a checklist.
Yeah.
I really. How did you.
That.
That sounds very free.
Yeah, I think. I think only stop it if you know that it's. It's only adding more to do in your life and not actually moving the needle in your life. Right. So, like, I realized the to do list was just adding to the busyness and not actually moving. What I needed it to move in my life, whether it be more revenue for my business, more, you know, like, deeper friendships or whatever it may be. Right. So that's when I knew that something was off is I just realized, wow, I'm really busy. And I. And I thrive in busyness because I. I like that. And. And that's where I realized, wow, this is where I'm lacking. And this is why I actually got rid of all of the morning stuff. And you know, but I do. I do ground and I do, you know, I have a cold plunge at my house. Yes. I do all the Things. But my mornings are sacred, so I take slow mornings, and that's where I get my downloads. And meditation looks different for me, too. So, like, if it's really hard, like, something that's hard for me is limiting the noise, the distraction, the audible that the podcast or the background noise with tv, like, being in silence is actually really difficult for me because I then have to face the things that I'm not facing. Right. I heard, actually Lindsay, another Lindsay Lindsey Murray, who was at the.
I'm a Lindsay Marie, too. You're that.
I didn't know that. Oh.
When I saw that, I was like, that's.
Yeah. She said something so powerful and always stuck with me. I've done a couple of retreats with her, and she said, you know, in order for you to be undeniable, because I know a lot of you are business owners in here and those who aren't business owners, maybe just this is you in your life. But in order for you to be undeniable, you have to confront parts of your life that you are denying yourself. And that's hard for a lot of people. That is really hard. And back to Dr. Joe Dispenza. If you want a different life, you have to literally step into that different life and that different mindset and habits and beliefs. Sometimes it's even clothes. It feels really good to actually not be in my normal attire of workout wear.
Loving the boots. You're a boot girl.
I'm having this about it right now. Yeah, they're easy because they don't hurt my feet.
Yeah. We went to this conference last weekend, which, seriously, if anyone's loving this conversation and really wanting to surround themselves with women who are in a growth season of their life, I find I'm in that right now. Like, I want to be around women who are doing uncomfortable work to grow and to evolve. And so went to this. This conference is all for that. And you can follow the powerhouse.
Powerhouse women.
Yeah, they have great podcast. Great podcasts, too. So anyways, you had great boots there.
Yeah, they were. So, yeah.
Yes, I love them. So boot era.
Yes, Right now. And I. I usually wear the tennis. So, like, a little story, I get asked to say, speak on big stages. And what I realized is anytime I showed up on these big stages, I would wear, you know, something, you know, something elevated. But then I would throw on, like, a tenny or I didn't actually want to be seen. Like, I actually wanted to just blend in. And these last few years, I'm like, no, I want to take up space I want to shine. I want to be seen, you know, and through some trauma that I had in my 20s and 30s, it sort of, like, dimmed my light a little bit. And so this is me, like, stepping into that.
Yeah, I love that.
Yeah. So I know you guys want to hear the third s. Yes. I don't want to leave you hanging.
I don't want to leave you hanging.
Okay, quick pause. Because I need to tell you about something that's literally changing the game for metabolism, energy, detox, and even your immune health. You guys know I do not waste my time with gimmicks. And that is why I created the patch method. Also because people are tired of taking pills. All the clients I have seen, we are tired of taking the pills, and we don't even know if we're actually absorbing it.
We've been wondering.
And this brings me back to this birthday party all hanging on by a thread. It's sex, right? So, like, sleep, stress, sex. And sex is more than just like, the. For me anyways. And what I realized is I've, like, now in my late 30s and early 40s, is it's not just the act of sex. It's. It's pleasure. Right. It's having fun. It's loving your body. It is. It's joy, it's fun, it's pleasure. It's actually going after the things that you want and not feeling shame or guilt around it. Right. And so for me, that has been such a lesson in truly, like, self love, but also as a woman asking for what I want. And again, not just in the bedroom, but, like, think of all aspects of life as a woman. Like, ask yourself, when is the last time that I actually asked myself, what is it that I want?
Yeah.
And not only that, but being radically honest with yourself.
Yeah.
Not what your friend wants, not what your husband or partner wants. Like, what is it? And being so honest with yourself and. And getting really clear on what that is.
And I think sometimes too, like, what I've learned, and I think we. We all can experience this. Like, sometimes it's because we aren't being honest with what we want. And stepping into that, that's causing so much internal pain. That internal pain is manifesting in physical illness, actually, like, symptoms. Like if you've got slow metabolism, if you've got the acne, the hormones are over the place, you've got an autoimmune issue. It actually is just your body speaking to you. It's manifesting pain inside through symptoms, and it chooses its route. It's Going to be a thyroid for you. It's going to be a gut for you, right? When you. When your body has those ailments and those symptoms, it's really just your body knocking at the door and saying, there's so much internal pain here. And for a lot of us, it's because we aren't being honest with ourselves. We're not doing the work. We're not loving ourselves in deep layers. Like, there's. There's so much that we're just like shoving and stuffing and then trying to white knuckle on the outside that's causing this pain. And so for sure.
Well, I'll give you an example. Like, I love stories. I think the way that we really connect with people is truly storytelling. So if, like, you have a business, and I was just chatting with you earlier, like, if you have a business, the best thing you can do for your business is to share your story, share a piece of your story that's going to actually resonate with the person that you're trying to talk to, right? And so, you know, back till your body keeps a score. There was a period in my life where I was not speaking my truth. I was an owner of a gym called Prophysiques, and I had some business partners. I was engaged at the time to my coach, who actually became owner of the gym. And I. I lost my voice. I truly lost my voice. I was in a controlling relationship, and it's no surprise that I attracted a man that was just like my dad, right? So just like my dad, who was controlling, was abusive to my mom. Like, of course. Of course I attracted that sort of man because I never did the work as. As to why I was attracting those types of people. And so. And again, back to. Back to that. I mean, it has nothing to do with him. I think when you do the work for you, you realize that when you do the work, you actually start vibrating at a higher frequency that I no longer attract people like that in my life, and I no longer attract friendships like that either. And so I lost my voice for a period of time. So what transpired with that? If any of you have ever experienced thyroid issues, autoimmune issues for me, because my voice was so suppressed. Where is your thyroid located? Right in your throat, Right. If you ever get in a situation where you have to speak in front of a group of women or you realize, like, it's really difficult for me to share my story, if any of you have ever, like, shared, started to share and your voice started to crack or you started to get emotional. We know that there's work there that needs to be done. And it's no surprise that my thyroid suffered when I was in that trauma state. And it was just my body's trauma response as to what happened. So of course, I go to all the western medical doctors. I'm going. And nothing against doctor. I think doctors are great. Like, they. They help, but they only wanted to give me a pill. Here's some anti anxiety pills. Here's some Xanax for you. I'm like, no, like, something's wrong. Something's happening, and, you know, something needs to shift. And so I decided to take matters into my own hands, seek, you know, a holistic doctor going to therapy, like, doing all the things. And we realize as I, like, dive into all the modalities, like Reiki and energy healing and hypnotherapy. Oh, Felicia, like, your thyroid's affected because you haven't been speaking your truth. And so, like, there is power in, like, those deeper modalities of energy because we are all just energy beings. Right? Like, think about who you think about, people that you follow online or even just think about, like, you follow Lindsay. Like, there's something that magnetizes you to her, and I guarantee you it's because of her authenticity. Authenticity is a higher vibration than love. Than love. You being authentic. And you. You know what? Whatever's coming through like that is you vibrating at your highest, highest frequency. And right now, we are all craving authenticity.
And I feel like it's not just with being authentic to others, but being authentic to yourself.
Yeah.
And being honest with yourself. And like, what is. What is. What are we stuffing? What are we avoiding? What are we buffering from?
It was all in my body. And as soon as I started to actually speak my truth, get in groups like this and see speak like. Like this right here. Like, even, like, vagus nerve, you know, regulation and things like that are so, so helpful for combating things like autoimmune and all the things that you might be dealing with. And so, like, if you are struggling with those things, sometimes it's helpful to go a little bit deeper with it than just thinking you need a pill or need a supplement or something like that.
I think it would be helpful too, because I'm sure this might be like. I feel like if I was sitting there, I'd be like, well, then what? Like, what is it? What's the thing that we need to do to do the work? Right.
Right.
Tell me what that part is.
Okay, so give me the Exact total call.
Yeah, I'll tell you, like, for me, like, the exact things I'm doing. And I'd love for you to share, like, what you've done or, like, like, the specifics. So. Okay, so what I started implementing is I. The meditation. I use Brain Tap. There's a lot of meditation apps. If you have a hard time meditating, get an app that can guide you to get you comfortable enough to then maybe someday do it in silence. But for me, Brain Tap, it engages light and sound therapy to get you into deeper levels of meditation. I've been trying to do this in the morning to start my day and then. But mostly where I find that I actually need it the most is in the middle of the day, because I actually feel like. Like I am vibrating really well in the morning. Lots of energy, and I. My, my. I keep my thoughts in alignment. Everything's going great. But I can tell there's an energetic shift around lunchtime before I get my kids. And I just want to wrap my day up in a really positive way. And so that's, for me, my vul spot. And that's why I. I insert the meditation. Right. So think about, like, where do you find yourself most vulnerable during the day? And where can you add that in? So Brain Tap, for me, has worked really well. Life coaching. Okay, Like, I hired a life coach. I actually went through life coach school certification because life coaching is different than therapy. Therapy. It's a little more like, when there's trauma to go back and heal. Life coaching is more like, what are the hamster wheel thoughts that are literally keeping you stuck? Like, the ones that are, like, you're like, I cannot get. Like, this thought keeps coming up and keeps keeping me stuck, Whether it be about a certain friend or a certain thing you should should not do, with thoughts that. About your body, your health, all the things. And so a life coach basically helps you rewire your thoughts to be more servant to yourself. Like, so I could go on. And I'm so passionate about life work. So meditation. Get a life coach. And if you need help finding one, I have great ones that went through the same schooling that I do. I believe in their model that they do for life coaching. I think we all need a life coach. You guys, like, we, our partners, our husbands, our friends, are wonderful. But like, life coaches bring tools and bring perspectives that help you face honesty, honest things about yourself and can finally break through those. Rabbit, hamster wheel. Rabbit, hamster wheel thoughts. So life coaching meditation. And what would be another one I've Done. What are some things you've done? Like, to do the work.
To do the work? Oh, gosh. A couple things, definitely. I'm not a sitting down kind of meditation. I like movement, so I do like movement meditation.
You have like an app. Are you just doing this yourself?
Like, walk. But I don't listen to anything. Or when I'm on a drive, I refuse to listen to music. So that's when I'm like, I really get very clear when there's no sound.
And so I'm just trying. I'm trying to get, like, so granular because I feel like people want. And I want to know too, like what? So, like, you're on. You're on a drive and like, it will be like negative thoughts come up and you're just letting them. You're facing.
I. You know what? I'll. I'll be completely honest. I don't have a ton of negative thoughts. Not pop in.
Not right now. Yeah. Okay.
Before I. Honestly, I'm such a. I'm a daydreamer. So like, I also. Back to Dr. Joe Dispenza.
Yeah.
So, like, whenever. So let's say you're like getting excited about something, right? You know, something's coming up and you're getting so excited and you're getting the butterflies. You're like, oh, my gosh, I'm so excited for this thing. Or maybe it's a concert that you want to go to or maybe you just like landed a big deal and you know that a lot of money, A lot of money is going to be hitting your bank account or maybe you have new clients or whatever. It may be like that feeling of excitement. Right? So I love doing visualization work and I do this while I'm driving. I know you mentioned, like, you don't. You don't listen to the sound when you're driving. I love that. So what if you just. Especially for the business owners or those that are just wanting to expand their life, maybe they're wanting more in their life. So what I love to do is visualize while I'm driving. And I visualize. So this is something that I actually. A money visualization that I love to take people through. But go ahead and close your eyes.
Okay.
For a little bit. Close your eyes. We're in a full situation and this is just. This is the abundance mindset visualization. And so I want you just to close your eyes and I want you to. You're on a walk and all of a sudden you get a phone call saying that you just won $20 million and it is going to be deposited in your bank account in two weeks. Now, you can't touch it in two weeks, but it's coming. And you know it's coming, but you can't actually use it. You can't spend it, you can't bless anyone. Like, for me, my mind goes to, oh my gosh, I want to buy my mom a new house. Like, these are the things that come through my head and I get so excited about it. But you can't touch that money yet. Now imagine how you show up in the world over the next two weeks. You are feeling abundant. You are excited. You have the butterflies in your stomach. You are planning with that money. You're thinking about the thing that you want to open up or the, the house that you want to buy your mom, or the car you want to buy your kid, or whatever it may be. Like, it is exciting to think about this money that is going to come into your bank account. And you can actually feel it in your body, how excited you are about that money. Now, it's not here yet. You can't touch it, but you know it's coming. Now imagine and you can open your eyes now. Now imagine you're in that elevated state all the time, knowing that something is coming, knowing that what you're doing right now is creating that dream life. And it may not be the money. It might be the relationship. It might be the house or the car, whatever it may be. Or maybe even just a feeling like, like there was a moment in my life where, like, I don't, I, I, I don't care like, what my life looks from the outside. I actually want it to feel good on the inside. Right. And so visualization work is so powerful because it can actually, like, change your state of being. It actually even like, starts to change the neuroplasticity in your cells. When we think that way, when we're so, like, open to the possibilities, when we leave room for magic, we actually look in areas of our life where things are actually working out for us, where these opportunities are coming to us. Like right now, if I were to say, hey, on your way home, look for the red cars. You're going to see them everywhere. You're going to see them everywhere. What if you did that for your actual life? What if you looked for the positivity in your actual life? The opportunity, the abundance, you know, the, the healthy relationships, the healthy friendships? Yeah, it will start to come in.
And that's where too some of the work is like Being honest and doing on thought audits. So that's like the third thing I will do. I'm remembering is I call it a thought audit where you literally just dump all the thoughts out of your head and you're like, and you certainly be honest and you look at them like these are some really ugly thoughts. It makes total sense why I feel X, Y and Z. It makes sense why I'm not where I want to be physically in life. Whatever. I don't have the friends, I don't have the things. Because look at these thoughts, you guys. Our brain does not care about making us feel good. It only cares about being right. So in the morning when you wake up and you're like, my metabolism is slow and I'm sorry, big, I can't lose weight, I don't feel my best. I don't have these certain friends, I don't have X, Y and Z, then your brain all day long is going to look for evidence to support those thoughts. Right? So something I want to kind of wrap up with is like really just challenge you to be honest with. Like what are those thoughts that are keeping you stuck? You know? And like in the morning, like start, do start tomorrow, start tonight, like do a thought audit. Just brain dump everything out. Be honest. Don't like, don't keep anything in. No one's here to judge. Like, get this out of your system, get out of your body. And what are these thoughts you're going to bed with? What are the thoughts you're waking up with? I am so intentional now with my thoughts that when I wake up, I choose my thoughts. I do not let my thoughts, I don't let my subconscious choose my thoughts because it would go crazy. So I wake up and I'm like, I. My body is so powerful, my metabolism is so fast. The food I eat blesses my body. I'm. You guys, I am like cringe. Okay. Yeah. I'm like, I. My five year old Hudson is so amazing because sometimes I wake up and I think she is so annoying. And that whole day she is so annoying. She is so annoying on those days. So I work very hard on the thoughts I have about my girl, my girls. And I think about my husband and how amazing he is. So I'm, I am. And I'm backing those thoughts up with very excited energy. Like I did win the lottery because matching thoughts with energy is what makes it powerful, you guys. So, yeah, so good. So I am thinking those thoughts and then guess what my brain is doing all day? Loving my kids.
Yeah.
Noticing the goodness in them. It's noticing food as being medicine. It's choosing actions that align with my most optimized self, my most biohacked self. Right. When I eat food, it feels like nature's blessing. You know what I mean? And so I. I just want to, like, wrap that up and, like, really challenge you guys to do that. And if. Let me know, too. Like, it's such a beautiful journey to become really the. The author of your life.
Yeah.
And to take charge of your life with a simple action of just even that alone.
I love playing a little game, actually. And I actually, I give you all permission to do this in your lives. Do it today if you have a partner or a friendship. Like, I do this with my husband because you all heard of, like, quantum. Like, quantum energy, right? We're all energy at the end of the day. And so what I realized in my relationship, the work that I need to do on this earth, is not necessarily, like, in the career field, it's. Or anything. It's. It's the relationships that I have in my life. And so, like, I. I can be spicy Latina. Like, I can really go from, like, 0 to 100 really quickly. And I try not to. And so a powerful reminder to me whenever I would get, like, triggered by my partner is to pause. And I. I started reading this book called Quantum Love. And so, you know, when we're talking about energy. So, like, if ever we got into, like, and I play this game with myself to see if I can actually manipulate the energy in the room. And so I. So let's say we got into a fight or an argument, and I feel anger, like, in my body, and he's in the kitchen, and there's this, like, resistance in this wall, and we're not speaking to each other. I will literally sit on the couch and I'll change my energy, and I'll actually send him love from my heart space. I will think positive thoughts about him. I will think how much I love him, how much he does for the family, his heart. He's so hardworking. He takes like. He's like, I will send these positive thoughts to him. I don't speak it. I feel it. And I'm actually, like, quantum love sending it to him in the kitchen. I'm telling you, nine times out of 10, when this has happened, and I've done this a handful of times, it's actually a really fun game. And he will come over, like, the wall is dropped. It's almost like I give him this, like, energetic invitation to come over and he just hugs me.
Oh my gosh.
And it's powerful. It is so powerful. And there's actually a book called Quantum Love. Yeah, that's so. It's really good. It's so great. And it actually makes me really self aware of my own energy. My energy. And how I show up to my business in front of my team, in front of my manager, in front of my girlfriends on a stage. I always check my energy because again, that is the one thing that we all have the power over is our own energy. We are all energy beings.
Yeah.
And one thing I want to leave you with, especially for women who are really wanting to maybe change their body, maybe you want to release some weight, maybe you do want to optimize your health in life. And obviously Lindsay's incredible. But I remember saying this on the podcast. We don't need more discipline. We need less self betrayal.
Yeah.
Okay. So if you can just like really tap into that. I think it's always like, oh, I'm not disciplined enough or I'm not this enough. No, we need less betraying you.
Yeah.
And what you want. Right. And so that always stuck to me because I, I do, I love being disciplined. Discipline actually creates freedom. But, like, we don't need more of that. You all know what you're doing.
Yeah.
We just need less self betrayal.
I love that. That was so powerful.
Yeah.
Thank you so much for doing that. Absolutely.
That was so fun.
You're the. Literally. Isn't she amazing? Like truly. She's so amazing. So Felicia, she has a podcast of her own called hi Felicia. No, Bye Felicia by Felicia. Hi, Felicia. And she, she also offers coaching. Like if you are in a season of wanting to, you know, expand in any kind of business capacity, she does that. She helps you launch podcasts. She literally does so many wonderful things. So she's amazing. Follow her podcast. Try Ohm. She is the owner of the. I'm like the Omaha home. I do the. Yeah, do all that. But thank you again. I just want to say so much for being here and you know, when it comes to like this whole idea of doing the podcast, like, like I just wanted to have a place to have some fun, some really amazing conversations. Like we're going to talk about peptides. I'm going to go deep on like GLP1 versus GLP2. Right. Like, what are other people doing to like get to this level of health? Like, what other modalities are in the pipeline? What research is coming out? Like, all kinds of fun conversations, client case studies. But really, like, awesome people that are going to be coming on to share their stories of transformation.
And this takes fast act action. Like, we went to her two weeks ago, was our first call, and I was like, you should host a podcast party, launch party. And, you know, get some cute cookies made, some stickers made, like, do all the things, like, hype it up.
Yeah.
And she's like, okay. I'm like. I was, like, going over the dates and I was thinking, like, october.
Oh, my God.
And she was like, August 20th. I'm like, oh, that's in two weeks. I was like, okay. And I never, like, I'm not like, no, you can't do that, Heidi.
That wouldn't surprise you, right? Like, I'll be. And I. Tiffany, a friend, I always tells me that because, like, I'll be like, okay, we gotta do that. Then I just get it done. Like, I don't like things on my.
List, on the phone call, as we're, like, planning everything. I'm just literally texting people.
Yeah.
And getting it, like, planned and done.
I know, I know.
Awesome.
My husband, actually. One more thing. And then you guys, we can. You guys are free to go. Actually, we gotta get a picture. Yeah, Patch picture. Okay. No, my husband's so funny. He's very, like, very entrepreneurial. Very loves to do the growth work, the mindset work, too. And always has a lot going on. Like, he's got. He's juggling a lot of things, too. So last night, I'm, like, downloading on him and I'm, like, telling him my biggest dreams and, like, all these things I'm manifesting in the energy coming in my life. And you can just tell he's kind of, like, spinning. He's like, I can't utilize. Okay. You know, I'm like. And then this. And he's like, oh. So this morning, he was so sweet. He was like, well, he walked to Sprouts and got me flowers. He's so sweet. But then he doesn't really do much on Instagram. He's not an Instagram guy at all. But he posted. He reshared my little podcast thing. And then he was like, to the per. To the only person. What did he say?
That I'm trying to keep up with.
That the only person that I can't keep up with, or something like that. I'm like, david, so true. My mom. My mom's always like, actually, one more thing. So I. In high school, did freshman. No. Sophomore, junior and senior year. In one year.
Oh.
Like, I just. I just like, hated school, and so I just, like, got it all done. And so I just. My mom's always like, you just do a lot of things. And so. Yeah, but we're gonna. We're gonna break up with a checklist.
Someday, and you may not need to.
Yeah.
Yeah. If it's not causing any havoc in.
