When liver transplant patient Jenny Shaner had trouble getting out of bed in the morning, she knew something was terribly wrong. When her doctors could find no explanation for her symptoms, she turned to the specialist at Total Nutrition and Therapeutics to help her find out what was going on.
I got my liver in 2004. Because of that, most doctors and all nurses will take three steps back and run the other way because they're not quite sure what to do. A year ago, I couldn't get out of bed. I had no idea what was going on. I went to my regular doctors. The liver doctors said, see somebody else. Kidney doctor said, see somebody else. And thank God. Through some very good references, I came up to see Lori and find out about what she had to offer in nutrition. Lori is extremely professional. She doesn't force you to do anything and she consults with your physicians. She's a critical care nurse. She's got a master's degree in nutrition. So she understands both sides of the equation, which is a very, very rare person. The most amazing thing, my cardiac physicians and I have some big time doctors in this area. They all say, well, go ahead and do what Lori says. We'll see how it works out. Have you ever heard of a doctor say, go ask the nurse? She went through the blood tests and found that my thyroid was in serious trouble. Started treating me by changing my diet. Found that I had autoimmune issues, which is what I had. Changed my diet, changed my supplementation. It's a year later, I've gone from 178 to 135 pounds. I have more energy than I did 20 years ago and it's getting better all the time. And I just encourage anybody to take control of their health. Stay out of your doctor's office, learn how to eat, learn how to take care of yourself and look at the person in the mirror and be happy to see them and you'll have a much brighter future.
