I'm 13 years old, and I came to TNT because I just know that Ms. Essery has always just been really good. And her husband was my foot doctor when I broke my foot, so he kind of recommended me to come here. My mom always knew there was something wrong because I was always sick, but she really didn't know what, so she brought me here. I have the gene for celiac disease. I have the rare gene of a celiac disease, the most common ones, too. And I was pre diabetic. I was borderline diabetic with type 2 diabetes, so my insulin was 30 and it should be less than 8. I basically ate junk food all the time, whenever I wanted to, and I felt really bad. I just. I didn't have energy at all. I hated running, hated athletics when I was little. I loved athletics. I just really. I felt hungry 24 7. So I'd eat, eat, eat, and eat and eat. I was eating so much sugar and I was eating so much gluten that it was harming my body. So I had to start taking a whole bunch of vitamins and stuff to get me back. I've lost 18 pounds since I started watching my sugars and not eating gluten. I'll eat more vegetables than I used to, and I'm more open to trying new things like different fruits and stuff. I'm doing basketball, softball. I dance after school and during school. I've always danced. But now it's a lot easier. It's changed my life a lot, and it's made me feel a lot better about myself. And I have twice the energy I used to have, and I just feel so much better. I guess I really have to thank my mom and my dad for helping me get here and helping Ms. Lori and Ms. Christine and Ms. Jamie for helping me and just getting me to where I am today. So I really appreciate it.
