In this monologue, Margaret Spence, founder of the Employee to CEO Project and the 10X Leadership Academy for Women, presents Day 25 of her 30‑day career‑transformation challenge. She poses the bold question, “What will you regret if you don’t do it right now?” and shares a personal caregiving anecdote about listening to elderly residents lament missed opportunities. Spence argues that regret stems from second‑guessing and fear‑driven inaction, and she urges viewers to make bold, empowered career choices now rather than later. She reframes the question to ask listeners what they will do to ensure their decisions empower them and prevent future regret, emphasizing risk‑taking, vision, and mission alignment. The segment concludes with a reminder that the challenge is nearing its end, encouraging continued engagement.

Day 25 of the 30/30 Career Transformation Challenge. Hi, my name is Margaret Spence, and I'm the founder of the Employee to CEO Project and the 10X Leadership Academy for Women. 30 bold questions to help you retool, reset, reinvigorate your career. Thank you for joining me on this journey. Today's bold question: What will you regret if you don't do it right now? Another one of those seemingly simplistic questions. What I know for sure, what I know in my own life, is that the things that I regret the most are the ones that I should have done, that I second-guessed, that I talked myself out of doing. They're the things that years later I look back and say, I don't even understand why I made that decision. I don't understand what stopped me from doing this or that. But what I know about regret is that it will always haunt you. It will be in the back of your mind and you will constantly go back to the event or or to the point where you made a decision or failed to make a decision or failed to pursue something that you dreamed about or wanted. You know, I'm a caregiver. I spend a lot of time at a nursing home helping my 94-year-old aunt. What I came to realize every time I visited that nursing home and I would listen to the older people talk, they will talk about what they did in their life, but they always lamented and spent a lot of time telling me about what they regretted, what they wish they would have an opportunity to do over. One of the reasons why I'm doing this 30/30 Challenge is to say to you, I would like to ask you to live a life without regret. Not that you won't make decisions and look back and say, "Boy, that was a lousy decision," but at least you made the decision. But I want you to not miss opportunities because you're fearful, not miss opportunities because you second-guess yourself out of your own empowered success. I want to ask you to reflect when you're making decisions. And ask yourself the question, would I regret it if I didn't make this decision? Would I look back when I'm 90 years old sitting in my rocking chair on the porch and say, boy, I should have made that decision, or I, I don't know why I didn't make that decision, or I don't know why I'm not living the life that I want. So Today's bold question: What will you do to avoid living with regret? I've turned it around a little bit because I wanna ask you, what will you do to make sure the decisions you're making empower you and that you won't regret not making a decision, not taking an opportunity, not moving forward, not living your dreams. I want to make sure that you don't live a life of regret. So to live a life without regret means that you're willing to take bold risk with your career, with your life, with your vision, with your mission, with your empowerment. Thank you for joining me on the 30/30 Challenge. Stay tuned. We're almost done. 5 more days. Take care. Thank you.
