We're on day 4. Oh my gosh. Can you believe we've gone 4 days already into the 30/30 Career Transformation Challenge? For those of you who are watching the video for the first time, my name is Margaret Spence and I'm the founder of the Employee to CEO Project. And for the month of September, we are running the 30/30 Challenge, 30 bold questions over the next 30 days. To help you move and help you to recharge your career so that you move forward with more energy, with more enthusiasm, with more purpose. Thank you for joining me. Today's question on our 30/30 Day 4 is, what has your career done for you lately? What are you gaining from the career you have right now? What are you gaining from the role you're in right now? And what is the role you're in today preparing you for? Because here's the story, ladies and gentlemen. If the role you're in isn't preparing you for something, then why are you in that role? If you're comfortable in that role, it means that it's prepared you for as far as you think you can go. So if your goal and if your desire is to move from where you are right now to somewhere else, then you have to take a, a minute to ask yourself, what is my current role preparing me for? What has it done for me lately? What are the key strategic things that I'm learning in the role I'm in? Because the purpose of having a job is to learn. We learn every day. What skills and competencies don't you have right now that your career is preparing you for? And if you can't answer the question, if you have no idea what your role is preparing you for, then I suggest that you look at your role a little bit differently. Because it's really important that if you get up every day and you go into a job, that you go there with purpose, you go there with a mission, you go there with accomplishment, You go there with things that you wanna learn. So if nothing else, the job should be challenging you and giving you opportunities to grow as a person, to grow as a leader, to grow as a member of the team. Are you growing? Are you stagnant? Are you not getting anything out of the role? And is it the role you're in Or is it you? Have you looked around and said, what else do I need to learn in my current role? What else can I get from being in this role? And stretch— how can I stretch myself in this current capacity? What's my stretch goals? You know, it's almost the end of the year, and everybody's gearing up. You know, we're about to see all the stores putting in Christmas items. Um, as soon as Halloween hits, we'll have the Christmas stuff up and people be thinking about the new year. So what I'm doing with the 30/30 Challenge is asking you to shake your career up today. Don't wait until January 1st to set some lofty goal that you're not going to follow. Shake your career up today. Take the month of September, redefine who you are, shake up where you want to go, and ask yourself What am I getting out of the role I'm in? And what do I want to get out of the role I'm in? What do I want out of my career? Where do I see myself going and how am I going to get there? Thank you for joining me for day 4 of the 30/30 Challenge. Stay tuned for lots more. We've got many more days to come and I plan to continue to post a video every day. So join me and stay connected, and thank you for listening. Thank you.
