A short YouTube monologue (Oct 24, 2023) reflecting on how entrepreneurs make success appear effortless. The speaker argues that visible wins (e.g., earning large sums) mask the prolonged hard work and accumulated effort required; the 'magician effect' arises when entrepreneurs recognize their own sustained value in the game.
Our job is as entrepreneurs is to make things look effortlessly like people look at us like, how the hell did they just do that? And it's like, oh, I just made 200 grand on this. And they're like, what, you just realized 200 grand a day? But all the stuff that you had to do to get to that point is where the real magic happens. And I think people get it lost. Like, oh, it's magical. No, it's hard work. We start realizing what our worth is in the game, and that's where the real magician effect comes into play.
