Short YouTube Shorts video (Mark Evans DM, Feb 14, 2023) consisting of a brief dialogue between two speakers. They discuss how to teach their children the value of money and frequently remind them that their comfortable circumstances are not normal, planning to expose them to real-world issues (e.g., homelessness, poverty) to build perspective.
How do you instill in your kids the true value of the dollar and all that stuff as well, too? Because also, obviously, they have a big upgrowing up and everything that you're providing at the same time. How do you show them the value right now?
Even when we do this, when we're getting on the plane or getting on the boat or whatever, I'm like, dude, we're very lucky to be in this position. So I think, like, stuff like that is just constantly communicating with them. This is not normal.
I say it 20 times a day.
And the kid, they go to the grocery store, I want this, I want that. We can have all that, but you're not getting any of it. Not only that, probably next year we're really going to get them engaged in, like, homelessness, going out and seeing real life. When they get in their teens, I'm taking them over to Haiti, to the villages, and showing them what, like, real life looks like for a lot of the people in the world.
