Nothing Changes Until YOU STOP Lying to Yourself|The Raw Truth That Your Mom & Dad Will Not Tell You

Mark Evans argues that personal growth requires brutal self-honesty and data-driven action, not excuses or endless planning. He contrasts being a magician, who leverages others, with being a mule, who does the hard work, and urges listeners to stop being addicted to failure and start checking off concrete tasks.

Happy Wednesday. It's your boy, Mark Evans, dm, coming to you live from Parkland in the office. Coming with a couple cool gifts I'll share with you guys here in a second. Anyways, thinking about you all. Hope you're doing amazing. It's a big day to wait. What's today? Wednesday? Tuesday. Today's Tuesday, right? Beacon Tuesday? Yeah, it's Tuesday over here. Good morning, John. Good morning, Mark. And he did. I didn't sleep well last night from anxiety and overwhelmed feelings and it's all crap. Okay. Good morning, Kevin. Facts. I think I'll see you tomorrow as well. Jim Kraut Kramer. Good morning, buddy. Hey, guys, we're gonna get started here in a few minutes, but again, thank you guys very much. Where's the book at? Somewhere around here. Magician versus Mule. Copies are going out the door every single day. Hey, mom, what's up? And good morning, Brian. Copies going out every single day. If you got your copy, appreciate it. Make sure, as you know, 100% of net proceeds go to charity and of choice. And this is actually the edit copy. A lot of changes before you guys ever got the book. So anyways, thank you for that. Make sure to check it out and review it as well over on Amazon. Magician versus Mule. Hey, good morning, Sean. What's up, guys? Hey. So today it's like nothing changes until you stop lying to yourself. The raw truth that your mom and dad will not tell you. Hey, good morning, Dylan. So before I get started today, kind of cool thing I want to. It's been crazy over here. We're still in Florida. We'll probably be back up in Ohio around July 2nd, 3rd, somewhere around there. But it's cool because I got. I got some neat things happening. I get gifts often. I don't know if you guys get a lot of gifts, but I'm a big gift giver. And who doesn't like getting gifts, right? Especially thoughtful, cool gifts. So I got this gift from my buddy. He says hit it like a magician. Mark Evans, dm. Whole bunch of two, dozens of golf balls with my name. The only thing I hate about this, my name's on it. So if I go golfing and I knock someone's window out, guess what? They know who it is. So if you don't like your people when you're a terrible golfer, put their name on golf balls with their website and their cell phone number and go bash out a bunch of windows with some balls. And let's take down the competition one by one. So another thing, my boy, Joe Evangelisti came out in the new book Whole Scaling. He sent me his first copy out for that. It's pretty cool. I've actually forwarded one of Joe's books. He's written three now, I believe, and he's part of the Diem family. Diem family is a $35,000 a year mastermind group where there's 33 guys in a room and we're talking about big, high level stuff. 24, 7. Who do you talk to when you want to talk about success? Who do you talk to when you're making a lot of money but you want to make more, but you're afraid to say it out loud? Who are these talking to? Good morning Paul. Good morning, Ben. Good morning, Terry. Good morning Andrew. Andrea. Good morning Kevin. So anyways, cool gift. This is the card they said. Hey, thank you very much for taking the time for to contribute to our noteworthy USA newsletter. We greatly appreciate your support. Now go knock the crap out of these golf balls. So it's pretty cool. I got asked to contribute to Noteworthy, which is a note investing newsletter. Pretty big one actually. And I wrote an article about magician versus Mule in there about why the note investing is pretty cool. I invest millions of dollars myself in notes every year. So I like that model. I like the notes sitting back. It's very magician. I give someone 100 grand, they pay me back, you know, a percentage of that money. Plus I get secured by real estate and all that good stuff anyways, so nothing changes until you stop lying to yourself. So I was thinking today as I'm on my walk and just thinking about like how many people I talk to and really what the root cause is. Mommy and daddy's messed us up. That's the truth. You know, we talk about this our thoughts on the thoughts. Why do they think the way we do? When do we start changing the way we think? Talked to a guy yesterday. He's actually a very awesome guy. Got some cool stuff going on. And he's not the only one. I talked to many people like this about how they lost a lot of money in 2008. 9 and 10. And the truth is that's the past. And it's 10. People are still talking about it 10 years ago as if it just happened. Do you understand how much lot. Like how many lies you tell yourself every single day, every single second? Probably, you know, like that hot dog you're eating at lunch when you know you shouldn't be. Or the cheeseburger at night when you're stopping because you know you're In a rush. But really what you're saying is you didn't plan the night before the day before. All these lies we keep telling ourselves. Hey, I'm not fat. I'm just big boned. Are you? Hey, I'm not poor. You know, Just because I don't have money doesn't mean I'm not rich in life and happiness. That's a big fat lie, right? You want, if you're watching these types of shows, you want wealth, you want more. That's what drives you, that's what wakes you up, that's what gets you excited. See, to me, I was thinking about, there's a guy I do business with, I'm a partner with him. 50. 50. He does all the work, I give the money, he does all the work and I get 50% of the profits. Not a bad gig. Pays a couple grand a day. Not a bad little gig. Yeah, a couple grand a day doing nothing. And that's only 50% of it. I often ask you guys like, about the whole percentage things like is making money hard? See, mom and dad told you making money is hard because I work hard. I want them to work hard. Hard is relative. And like yesterday we talked about if you're digging a ditch with a spoon. Yes, you are working hard. But you're not working smart either. So you got to find the happy medium. And you keep telling yourself making money's hard. Making money is not hard. It's actually very ultra easy. The problem is most of you are trying to solve your problem. That is why am I broke? And you're trying to figure out how to solve that problem. And that's why you come and buy courses. I'm gonna make money solving your problem. Just like you need to make money, you need to go solve other people's problems. Take your unique ability and, and go solve someone else's problem. Maybe you're great at accounting, maybe you're great at forecasting. Maybe you're great at project management. Maybe you're great at managing people. I hate managing people. If you can figure out that problem, you can make billions of dollars. FYI, if you're great at all these pieces, stop lying to yourself, acting like you're working really hard. I'm getting ready to get ready. I see so many of you guys out there. It's like, it's exhausting talking to you because you're talking about a hundred things that you could do. I just want to know one thing that you're doing. Just one. What are you doing? I don't Care what you want to do? What are you doing? Everyone wants that six pack of abs. How many people are at the gym getting it? How many people are in the kitchen earning it? You got to put the work in. You got to do the stuff. You got to create the plan and execute the plan. Stop lying to yourself like, oh, I'm going to do it one day. Monday. Monday hasn't came for 40 years. Like, when's enough enough? When do you get sick and tired of being sick and tired? And that's what the truth is. This is all mindset. Nothing changes until you stop lying to yourself. How are you going to get rich doing $10 an hour work? You can't. That's why you're frustrated. How are you going to lose weight when you're eating more calories and working out less? You ain't. It just doesn't work like that. It's math. It's real simple. Everything comes down to data. While you're sitting there talking about drama. What's up, Rob? What's up, Mike? What's up, Christopher? What's up, Mike? Mike? What's up, guys? Drama. But Mark, you don't understand. I hurt my back, dude. Do you guys know how, like, when I did 75 hard, my right shoulder literally felt like it was going to fall off Every day, Every single day. It still is a little rough and I'm still out there working out, still hitting it hard, still doing the jump rope so my feet feel like they're about to blow up out there in the 100 degree temperature doing the work. I'm not asking. I'm not asking for you to feel sorry for me, just telling you, like, who says it's supposed to be easy? So many of you are talking about what you want to do. Funny thing is, I was talking. It's not. It's funny, but sad. And it is what it is. I talk to people every day like this, dude, I'm gonna do this. And when I do this, I'm gonna do this because this person does that and then that person does this because that's when it should work. And then I'm like, well, what do you want? What do you want to do? I don't care if you do it on Wednesday or Saturday at 2 o' clock or midnight. Why are we even talking about that, folks? Anybody making like to make a hundred thousand a year and beyond is so simple. Today's world. First of all, $100,000 is not even a lot of money on the grand scheme of things. See, this is the lie. But, Mark, it's a lot of money to me. Well, get around new people, and it won't be a lot of money at all. $100,000. It doesn't pay for my flights for six months. Like, how's it a lot of money? It's all relative, right? Get around people that are growing. Get around people that are talking bigger. Get around people that are. It's not a lot. And not only that, if it is a lot, it's a lot when you're healthy. It's not a lot when you're not healthy. Is it a lot when you're helping out your parents? Is it a lot when you're helping out your grandparents? Is it a lot when you're helping out your community? See, I always talk about the big lie. Like, we're sitting here saying, I want to feed the world. All your actions are singular for you. How are you going to feed the world? With shitty, bad actions that produce very little results. You can feed yourself, you can feed your family, you can feed the village, or you can feed the world. They all require different action. They all require different levels. They all require different commitments. At the end of the day, for you just want to sit back, smoke weed, drink beer, act like you're balling, right? Well, the truth is you're probably sitting in your car or in your closet or secretly behind the scenes somewhere crying, literally bawling because you know you're better than what you're producing right now. And you're frustrated, but you're not frustrated enough to actually do something about it. When I talk to people and I know they're living below their means, I get pissed off. Because not only are they stealing from themselves, they're stealing from their children. They're stealing from their children, they're stealing from their family, they're stealing from their future self. They're still. They're stealing from the world that they could actually help. It's selfish, it's disrespectful, because the man upstairs has tapped you on the shoulder and gave you a gift that you're not living. And yet it's okay. Tomorrow will come and I'll be better tomorrow. When do you realize that you're better than that? When do you realize that just because you don't want to do it doesn't mean you should not do it? I know a lot of people get it twisted when I talk about magician versus Mule. Like, dude, I want to start this. But it's not like a magician, like, effort. It's Very mule. Dude, I mule all the time. The difference is being a conscious mule, working for an effort to get out of the mule like activities by handing it off to people that are better than you and their core abilities. It's okay to mule it out. We have to realize that we have so much more opportunity than what you're living. Like, I truly don't know what you guys do all day long. If you're not making a million minimum a year, what do you do all day? Why? Are you ever asked why not? Like, why am I broke? You always find the answer for that. But who do I need to become to generate a million a year? You're not gonna be watching Netflix all day. You're not gonna be eating bon bons by the campfire, drinking beer, acting like you got shit figured out. You're not gonna be talking to your buddies, talking about King of the dipshits. Yo, dude, I got a 20 cent raise. What? You suck, man. I got 25 cents. Ha ha ha. Hey, man. Anyways, what's up with those Packers? Who cares? You can't pay your bills. What's it matter? The only thing you need to be doing is packing your lunch and getting to work. But yet you'll still wear the jerseys with some guy's name on it. That's weird in itself. Why? You talk to all your buddies like you're killing the game of life. You know, you're scared to death you don't have any reserves at all. You're scared that once you start taking action, it might start changing. Gotta realize you're better than that. People want to help you. No, they don't. They just want my money. Beacon. Did they lose me? There we are. No, they don't. They just want to take my money. They want your money. Everyone wants your money. I want your money. We all want your money. But that doesn't mean you have to give it to them. You have to become smarter. You have to become more conscious. You have to become more aware. You have to see the investment opportunities, not the obstacles. Stop lying and stealing from yourself. You're lying. There's a guy I know, he's an amazing guy. I actually have a lot of money with him. And this guy's busier than Donald Trump and makes dick all day. Makes no money all year. I bet you the guy barely makes 100 grand a year right now. It's embarrassed. I'm embarrassed for this adult man. I'm embarrassed for him. And every time I talk to him, my first thing is, dude, because he'll talk about all these excuses, hey, go do it. It's a punch list. And take a weekend and be done. Six weeks later, it's still not done. Why is that? Why is that? I could do a job in six weeks myself, start to finish with what was on that list, but it's still not done. He still has an excuse and he still doesn't have money. Well, I'm starting to see lots of patterns here. I'm starting to see the connection. I'm starting to see the common denominator. He's a great guy, but he's screwing everything up. See, success is very funny. We like to lean into where we're the most comfortable. He's comfortable being told he's a dickhead right now. He's comfortable being, being a loser. He's okay with it. I'm not because I like him. I know he's got more insight. I know he's better than what he is. He's a 50 something year old man, not making any money, can't pay his bills, running from his shadow until he stops lying to himself, acting like he has it all figured out. If you ask him how his day is going. Amazing man, Amazing. Amazingly bad. Like, dude, until you admit you need help, until you step into it and really like tap out, nothing's going to change. It's always something. Everyone's playing business, acting like it's easy. I mean it's easy relative, but like there are some real things you got to do. And the biggest thing is self awareness. If you're successful. From my experience, you're very self aware, you're very up to date with what's going on. You're genuinely true to yourself. When you have a dog, you kill it. Move it on. When you have a winner, you go all in. You have to have multiple paths going on. I don't even know how many revenue streams I have, but it's a lot. And not all work out. Not all are huge. But some are. And some will work out really well. Some are working out amazingly well. But it's all part of the process. See you think like, how do you like, why do you think you should win every single time you touch something? That's psychotic, by the way. It's psychotic. If you think you could touch everything and turn it into a winner, you should be in a loony bin. It's not possible. No one's ever done it. Why could you? See, once you understand, you stop lying to yourself. Like, dude, I'm gonna fail. Fuck it, I'm In. Let's go. What's the worst that could happen? I fell. Wah. I make money. Yay. But you know what? I'm gonna learn either way, and I'm gonna learn how to get better. I'm gonna learn how to fail faster. I'm gonna learn how to fail harder. I'm gonna learn how to win bigger. Like, these are things that we're doing. So you got to get the gut. You got to build up the stamina. You got to build up this mentality, this muscle. Most of you are addicted to failure. You like failing, and you don't even know it. Here's how you know. For the last 20 years, are you further ahead or closer to your goal? Do you have more money in the bank or less money in the bank? Or the same? What is it? See, until you stop lying to yourself, nothing's going to change. When I talk to people, like, I'm like, what do you do all day? I want to be a fly. Everyone wants to be a fly on my wall. I want to be a fly on your wall. I want to see what you successful. Want to be successful? People do all day. Who's on the phone? Who's sending emails? What kind of text are you sending? Who are you talking to? Where are you hanging out? What's your schedule look like? What's your day look like? What's your reputation? Repetitions look like. How long do you take for lunch? Do you even take a lunch? Dude, I eat lunch. I'm standing up. I don't want to sit down. I sit down, dude. I'm like. I'm relaxing. I'm not relaxing. I fuck. I got work to do, man. I got bills to pay. I got money to make. I got to live up to my best ability. Too many of you relaxed. Got it all figured out. You got 1200 bucks in the bank. You're loaded. You're not loaded at all. You might be drunk loaded if you think that's a lot of money. You're not killing the game of life if you don't have access to millions of dollars after you're a certain age. Millions. Remember when a million dollars is a lot of money? Did we have that inside accounts that we forget about? Like, you're better than that. What are you thinking? This is what frustrates me when I'm on my walk today. I'm pissed. I see great people living at, like, level zero. I can't want it more for you than you want it for yourself. Until we stop lying to ourselves, nothing's changing. You know damn well your kids don't need a degree to make money. You did. You thought you did because that's what your mom and dad told you. Stop lying to yourself and your kids. They won't respect you if. Dude, you understand. Like, a lot of you guys that have children are forcing your kids to go to all these schools for certain reasons or whatever. Just know that that's your agenda, not theirs. And they are going to possibly resent you for that. They will wake up and call BS on that. You know that, right? We all know it. You go to it. You. I talk to adult people, 40, 50, 60 years old, and they're sitting in a room and they're like, dude, I remember I hated going to school. My mom and dad wanted me to be the doctor, so I had to get the doctor and just appease them. I never liked it. I was always mad. I was always frustrated. I never felt like I'm not living my dream. Why? Because you're afraid to hurt mom and dad's feelings once you're an adult person and you know this is a real thing, it's all your responsibilities for what happens, good and bad, until you stop lying to yourself and call yo mom, I'm not going to school. I know you and dad worked really hard to get me into blah, blah, blah, blah, but I don't like school. I never have, I never will, and I don't want to do that job. Why would I want to be an accountant? I'm an artist. Why would I be an accountant? Why do I need to go to entrepreneur school to be an entrepreneur? Because you're not an entrepreneur. That's why. Until you stop worrying about what your neighbors thinks, your mom and dad think and everybody else thinks, you're always going to be held at your standards. And they're usually pretty shitty. Standards. Work. Make the calls, Mark. I want to raise money. Great. How many calls have you made? None. Well, why do you think you should raise money? You think people come to your door, yo, man, I got a millie. What do you got? No credibility. Visuals, videos, meetings, phone calls, text. I can do it all from here. Nope. You just want to keep dicking around, scrolling through social media, seeing what's up, getting excited. Then you look at the clock, you're like, oh, shit, it's 10:30 at night. I got to get to bed. Big day tomorrow. Big day tomorrow. Get up at 6, get up at 8:30. Oh, man. Good day. Good day. I feel good. I feel good. Just keep lying to yourself, you know, you feel like A piece of, you know, your kids are watching you fail. You know damn well you're better than that. That's my biggest frustration with this stuff. I did a podcast show on the Making of a DM about they're watching. Listen, you're gonna get a lot of criticism as you start developing and growing. You're changing. You're becoming a better, bigger human being provider. You're going to change your circle, you're going to change your connections, you're going to disassociate. You're going to minimize association. But until you stop lying to yourself, you can't. How can you simply grow when you're hanging out with the same people? I commend you guys for being here, listening to this. Why? Because this is starting to open your eyes to a new world. There is a different way of thinking. There's a different way of owning your shit. There's a different way of results. Once you do all the things I'm talking about, no one can take anything from you. Today I may lose money. Today I may make a lot of money. Either way, I'm going to keep working. I remember back in the day when I barely could pay my bills. Every time I made $2, I was taking a $5 siesta. It doesn't stop. I was hanging out with the wrong people. I was motivated by the wrong things. I genuinely want to help people. I want to see you grow. I want to see you advance. I want to see you win. I want to see you make more money than you've ever made. I'm not talking to hundreds of thousands of people here. I'm talking to one you. The one that needs to hear this now. More importantly, the one who will do something with the information. It's not just this show. I've been showing up here for the last six weeks every day, minus that one week every day. What are you doing with your time? Get real with yourself. What do you love? What do you hate? What are your goals? More importantly, what are you willing to do for your goals? Everyone wants the Lambo. Very few people want to do the work. It's kind of like, dude, you got a champagne budget. You got a shame sham pain mindset with a Miller like budget. It just doesn't align. You're sitting there watching me drink the champagne while you drink the middle light. You're pissed off. Why? The only difference is I just made a choice. I got to become better. Doesn't matter what Mark Evans does for you. Doesn't matter what your next neighbor does. Doesn't matter what your best friend does matter. What do you do? How do you function? How do you work? How do you make decisions? What do you want out of this again? Until you stop worrying about just your problems. Start solving people's problems. That's how you get paid. Christopher's here. He builds tiny houses. How do you solve a problem? Provide beautiful tiny houses and charge a premium. Accomplished. I like this. Someone want to send me a custom gift. They make cool cups. Sign me up. It's endless. Solve a problem. Problem could be fun. I want to take amazing vacations. How do you solve the problem? Book amazing vacations and get a vigil. It's endless. Three roles in life. Complete school, no kids till married. Do any job till there's a better one. Well, there's always a better one. And teach that. Like, I don't hate that, by the way. I think those are. Those are good starting points. I like deeper ones. You know, don't, don't, don't do any job until there's a better one. Well, first of all, it's a very relative statement, and I don't hate it. I'm just trying to understand, like, a better way to frame it. Because to me, that's almost like you're always looking for the next best thing as opposed to being in what you love to do and growing and expanding it. See, I have a buddy that loves animals. Loves animals. And he makes millions of dollars a year loving animals. If he would have stuck with what he did, and it was way better, by the way, financially, for sure, he would. He would be making a lot more money, but he wouldn't be as happy. He makes a lot of millions still, but now he's happier than he's ever been. So it might not be better. I think maybe that maybe where I'm hung up is better one. What does better one mean? See, again, I really do believe words are so powerful and yet so many people, including myself, don't matter. Like, I'm very conscious of stuff and I don't understand what certain things mean. And I'm not saying to be weird. I just don't know, you know, So a lot of cool things going on. Hey, some people are on the bottom and need to work out. I don't know what that means. This is Goldmark. Thank you, Chuck. What's up, guys? Matthew. Matthew, Jeremy. What's up, guys? So again, I just. I just genuinely think, like, when I'm like these morning walks I always do, every day, I'm thinking about what information do I have in my brain from talking to thousands of people over the years that their frustrations, their hang ups, their growth problems, why they aren't succeeding at the level they want and just trying to understand and break through the barriers because there's nothing, there's zero, zero opportunity for anybody if you don't grow. There's zero. So my goal, like, if you love, like doing whatever you love to do that doesn't steal from my love, you know, so like, that's why I'm always an open book. I own multiple companies in many different industries and for me, like, at the end of the day, if I have to kill one, you kill it and move on. It's not the end of the world. So many people think if you kill one, you're dead. No, the truth is oftentimes when you kill one, it might actually bring you back alive, right? So it's actually a positive. And once you start reframing your mindsets and really, that's really what we're talking about, right? Is, you know, nothing changes until you stop lying to yourself. You're lying to yourself all the time. I know I'm the fat guy when I'm eating and I'm like, dude, I feel good today. Feelings lie. Just because I feel good today doesn't mean I can eat bad today. Just because I feel good today doesn't mean I look good today. Feeling and looking again, data, not drama. That really brings out the truth of what you're saying. When you say, mark, this business isn't working. Show me your data. That's all. Nothing else you say matters. Data, what's not working? I need to know. Well, I'm not getting any calls. How many ads have you placed? Where are they placed at? What are you running? How much are you spending a day? Zero. Well, what? Just could you get a phone number? You think someone's gonna call you then like, that's the disconnect. See, everyone will tell you the problem. I want the solution. I want the data to drive a solution. Why? Pontification on, on a problem doesn't necessarily. It's not going to solve anything. It's actually going to only make it bigger. Let's get some stuff cranking. Let's get some deals going. Let's make some money, let's make some connect, help some people. You know, your mindset's holding you back from a whole nother world, folks. I genuinely know it because I've been there. I'm still there. I'm still trying to grow. I'm still like Where I'm at today is nowhere. Where I'll be at 6 months, 12 months, 24 months, etc. I'd be devastated if I was the same person 60 days from now. Devastated. It's not going to happen. It can't. The only way I'm stopping this mindset train and all this growth is when I'm dead. And ideally, if I do it right, my legacy can continue to live on. I can keep in planning information like this because hopefully my kids, my grandkids, my great grandkids, my nieces, my niece's kids, etc. Etc. Etc. Etc. Take this information. Maybe one day say, you know what? That that's my great great great grandfather. And he was right. What he did that day, when he made that decision, he was scared, but he did it anyways and I thank him for that. Blah, blah, blah, blah. Why can't they do that for you like we have? Once we know this is a thing, we have to do something about it. If not, stop talking about it, stop doing anything. I mean just stay at your job, enjoy life. Like again, I'm not knocking, it's just if you do nothing with this stuff, it's pointless. Beacon, stop lying. What's your thoughts?
I think some people to stop lying, they might as well just stop talking in general. A lot of shit gets done when your mouth is closed and your hands are moving. So that's like the biggest thing I've realized if I was to cut like, like you said, that person who had a whole list of agenda to handle.
Can you hear me? We're losing.
Oh no. I just got new WI fi. Hello? If I have this agenda that I'm trying to accomplish for three weeks that has 10 items, it doesn't mean anything to nobody unless the items get checked off. So I need to be focused on just checking off items instead of building a list. That's, that's first and foremost. But yeah, a lot of people just gotta quiet whatever thoughts come in here that come out there and just start, start tinkering with stuff and start making things.
A quick question. Why do you think everyone's trying to figure it all out before doing anything. What are they afraid of? What's up, Sean? What's up, rj?
What's up? That's a great question. I, I, I, I think it's afraid of overexertion of energy, whatever that means or whatever that means because you're never gonna know how much, how many calories you're about to burn on this walk than you did the other day, you know what I mean? So a lot of us think that we can over, like, just completely analyze the situation and think that I'm gonna go from point A to point B to point C with no hiccups. And if there is a hiccup, then I must be completely wrong. And then that's where analysis paralysis comes into play. But yeah, a lot of them are.
Just afraid to fail. Afraid to fail.
I.
So I actually have a thought process. I think most people are afraid to succeed. I think people are addicted to felon, dude. I genuinely do. Like, I think I told you guys the story about that trader buddy of mine. And I don't think they're content at all, my man. So I think people can say they're content. I think they're scared, I think they're frustrated, and I think they're addicted to failure. I think they like failing. It makes them feel good. Guys, we know this is, this is. I talked about this on financial ptsd. So. Because the reason is because what happens, it's like a gambler when you're gambling and you literally every time you put every diamond, you're going to get the big hit. Like you're endorphin. Like, it's literally an addiction. People are addicted to failing. It makes comfortable in a failure. They know how to handle it. They know the pressure they have in front of them. They know how to deal with, you know what's going to come up. I call it flat tire mentality. For some reason, they're constantly. I remember when I was a kid, I had no money. I got a flat tire. I found the $19 to get the tire. Dude, I had zero. This is when I was digging in couches, getting pennies to get gas, 27 cents in gas to get three miles down the road. So when the tire bust and you need to get somewhere, you figure out how to find those $19, you start. What we're talking about is becoming resourcefulness. So you become, you always become resourcefulness when you most need it. Well, you should be resourcefulness 24 7, because you need it all the time. It will actually serve you and serve other people. Like if someone came to me and said, yo, Mark, I want to learn how to do blah, blah, blah, hit my boy beacon. Hey Mark, I need blah, blah, blah. Cool. Hit my guy up here. Hey, Mark, you know what I mean? So all these things, like, I'm constantly looking at the resourcefulnesses that I have that I've built. Not only that beacon, I might hit you up and Say, hey man, I need help on this. Do you know anybody you know or whatever where most people are afraid to ask. I think most people, the reason, one, they're addicted to failure. They're comfortable in failing because they understand how to deal with it. Success. You know, a lot of people, the problem is you've been talking so much smack about successful people your whole life, you believe you become successful. Now that's you. And what you'll realize is that's not the case. From my experience, most successful people I know what I'm rolling with. Very giving, very nice, very hard working, very honest, very ethical. Cares about their team, cares about their family. Very good. Like, you know, like my vision of what I thought it looked like initially is way different. 180 degrees different. Exactly. So that happens. And then, you know, now that we have all these pieces now it's like, dude, if I start succeeding, what if this, what if that, what if this, what if I get too much money? What if I get taken advantage of? What if I lose my money? What if this, what if that, like those are all, that's all. Fear of success. One, let's just be straight, you're going to lose money. Two, you're going to make money. Three, it's only money. You know, there's a lot more on each side.
Number three, crucial.
Yeah, there's opportunities everywhere, you know what I mean? So I won't even tell you the text I just got today, but like Money's coming in 24 7, all over the place. And I want you guys to realize that you have so much inside of you. Like they're watching. Picture you sitting in your. And listen, the truth is they're watching when no one's watching. I'm sitting in my office at 4:30 this morning, working. My kids are sleeping, my wife is sleeping. You're probably sleeping. I'm working because someone's watching. I can control when I get up. That's on me. That gives me more confidence. Today I woke up, got out of bed. I didn't want to get out of bed. I barely could walk. My ankles are killing me. I did tons of jumper yesterday, so. But I got out of bed and I made the effort, got out of the room as quickly as possible, got in front, started working, right? So I can control that. That makes my day better. That gives me more confidence. The more I keep doing that, the more compound effect. Get addicted to winning. Get addicted to like, you know, succeeding at something. Get addicted to closing out your schedule. Meaning if you have five things to Do I hate to do lists? I like to done list. Tell me what you got done now. What do you have to do? We all have a lot of stuff to do. What'd you get done? So many people got so much going on, they get nothing done. You know what I mean? So I think at the end of the day, man, Beacon, for us, buddy, we just got to keep plugging this message, man, because there's so many people. You see it on the backside. We're making massive impact. But they're watching. When I'm in this office, dude, I literally feel the kids. I feel them. I can't wait till my son's a little older and he's waking up with me. He's sitting in the corner reading his book last night. Just so you know, they're watching last night. I'm on the bed reading a book that I'm reading about business and stuff, and my son grabs one of my other books beside my bed, and he's like, dad, dad. He's, like, making the paperwork. I like, what are you reading, man? He's like, hey, dad, I'm just trying to make money, you know, or whatever. So they're watching. They're mimicking. Even if he doesn't know what he's doing. That's a piece, right? Just like, if you saw someone, you know, smoking cigarettes your whole life, you might have a tendency to want to smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol. Like, it's all mold. We're all molding. These children and people, they're all watching. And if I become better, guess what? The people watching around me become better. So don't be waiting. Be the. Be the change. Be the change. You know, that's what we're trying to do, right? Beacon, I wish you'd start doing something right.
No, no, I. I am. I'm getting there. We're getting there. I'm doing stuff. But, yeah, like, be the change. I think, you know, as I'm seeing, you know, success at my level is not even a grain of sand at his level, you know, especially with all the experience under your belt. But. But it's. It's that idea. It's like popping a cherry. It's like, oh, snap. I'm like, whatever I just did went correct. Now I try to do something else, and I get hit in the face. It's like I should have never even had success in the first place, because now it even hurts more. But it's like understanding that, like, it's like you start getting numb to it. And understanding as you gain More success. There's going to be more, how do I say, More of a retention, more of more. More failure. And it's just like, how do you just rewire your brain to realize, like, oh, seeing more red flags allows me to do something to change those red flags versus it's going to take my business down.
Well, first of all, everything we're talking about is being humble. You know, never get complacent and being successful and never get complacent, being a failure, right? This complacency and being humble, you know, no matter how successful you are. Again, my thought process, when I used to think successful, I thought everything they touched turned to gold. You know, the thing is, the truth is, it's just we have more times at bat. We're just stepping up to the plate more often. We're going to have more hits naturally because our data is in our direction. We're going to be like, for example, if I'm in front of that plate 100 times and beacons in front of it one time, who has the best opportunities to hit the most runs? Inevitably, me. Beacon hits one hit, he's successful, he's 100% successful. Me, I hit five balls. I'm five. I'm 400% more successful than Beacon, but I'm only 5% successful in my hitting average, right? So, like, if you comparison of data is the thief of anything that we're talking about, because I can assure you, first of all, why would you think you should be as successful as me, Beacon, at your age? Secondly, why can't you be more successful than me at your age, right? So it's like, I love helping younger people in business because I want them to be bigger than me. That's my genuine drive. I love to see you guys be better, be smarter. I wish I had someone like me that really did care and stepped up to the plate and talked straight with me instead of just trying to be in my pocket like, yo, man, like, let's make money together. Let's grow. Let's push and prod you. And, you know, it's not fun. It's uncomfortable. I mean, Beacon, have we ever had uncomfortable conversations?
Always. Actually, we need to have those uncomfortable conversations. Honestly, I'm a very introverted person, Mark. I mean, like nine months of working just in your, you know, in one of your companies, I'm still, you know, from the employee mindset to I'm in a serving mindset. It's not an employee. You're always serving, no matter what level you're at. So Changing from employee mindset to serving mindset. It's like, holy crap, there's a CEO. The boss man. I've. I don't have any business talking to him now. He's a regular guy. He's just trying to push the same initiative to whoever, you know, just to grow. Now I have access to that. It's like I've been blind that I had access to it for months.
Well, you don't want to access to it. We actually have more access to it than we've ever had. Literally. Someone could message Elon Musk right now and he might reply right back to you. For real, right? Probably the best lesson my parent. One of the best lessons my parents taught me is treat everyone the same. You know, from the landscaper to the, you know, the, the person working behind the counter at the grocery store, whatever. Everyone's equal, you know, no one's better than anybody. Just because you have money doesn't mean. By the way, just because you have money doesn't make you better. Just because you have no money doesn't make you worse. Like, it's just I'm trying to be a better me, you know, And I'm trying to like live up to my God given talents and like make sure I'm doing what I can even when it's uncomfortable. Again, pain and uncomfortability is probably the most rewarding thing you could do, right? In the gym. Like you're like, dude, I'm going to pass out. You've only been on treadmill for three minutes but you feel like you'll pass out. That's your. And you're probably only at 20% of capacity. It's just your brain trained your brain to be weak. You've trained your brain to allow you to tap out when it gets a little resistance. The difference with the guys I'm rolling with and myself is. And again, I'm not saying we don't quit sometimes. I'm not saying we don't give up. I'm not saying sometimes we don't feel like we're on past time, we stop. But like we are constantly figuring, like being super genuine to ourselves, not lying to yourself and being real, saying, yo, you're being a pussy right now, step it up, let's go. And then you work out real, real hard. And guess what, man, you absolutely feel amazing. Amazing. You know what I mean? So Mike said, what about I want to help everybody. Older, younger, I want to help us all, you know. You hear me, Beacon?
Well, yeah. Well, you want to help those who want to help themselves.
Absolutely, yeah. Beacon on your side. Anything else, my man? On this? I mean, because again, like, I mean, you're deep in the middle behind the scenes of it. Yeah.
I mean, it's data, not drama. Stop lying. Some people like to. They see the data in front of them and they still want to lie to themselves. Like, I just made 10 calls I didn't get. It's like, dude, expand your brain. People are making 500 calls, a thousand calls, and are still getting more deals than your one call. And then there's people that make only one call and still get more. So it's. It's. It's just understanding your debt. What? What? Your life, your data, just.
Yep.
No comparison.
It's the economy, man. Like, listen, Beacon being successful, he could be successful doing whatever he's doing. I could be successful doing whatever I'm doing. But, you know, it does. It's. It's all relative, man. Right? Like, I'm not going to be successful if I make 10 grand today. That does not fit in my plan at all. $10,000 a day to Beacon. That's probably a lot of money to me. That would not be. I'd be. We'd be negative. Right. It's all perspective. It's all relative. Like, what does it mean? So you got to pay attention to your own data. That's the only thing that genuinely matters. And, dude, even. Let's say, even if I'm massively successful making a million dollars a minute, like, what does that do for you? It does nothing. It might inspire you. But what. What does that do? And if anything, it could derail you from what you're great at thinking you need to become me to get what I have. Well, you actually more by being. Have what you have. Like, do you think Jeff Bezos is trying to be Warren Buffett or Bill Gates? No, dude, they said, yo, I'm going all in with what I love to do. And I'm going to be. I'm going to be wealthier than those guys, but I'm going to take my own path. I'm going to blaze my own trail. You know what I mean? So it's pretty. See what's going on. I genuinely think right now, in this time and day and age, if you can't make a million dollars a year as an entrepreneur, you're not a business person. You're not. I mean, everyone needs help now, dude. Everyone. You know, you could come out with all kinds of products, all kinds of solutions, all kinds of opportunity. People have money they're spending it. Trust me, they're spending it. And the question is, are they spending it with you? So till you stop lying yourself, folks, nothing's going to change. I'm thinking about you guys. I gotta bounce. I gotta have a big meeting. But I appreciate you guys being here. Hope you have an amazing day. I'll see you guys tomorrow. Have an amazing day. Check me out on Instagram at markevansdm.
