In this CBS Texas interview, life coach, army veteran, and author Mark Reynolds discusses his new book, How to Make Every Day Great. He opens by citing Gallup data that Americans’ personal life satisfaction is at an all‑time low, framing his book as a response to this crisis. Reynolds introduces his G‑R‑E‑A‑T mnemonic—Goals, Rest, Energy, Action, Time/Family—as a daily framework for improving life. For each letter, he shares a high‑profile anecdote: Oprah Winfrey on the importance of great goals; Joel Osteen on the value of a good night’s sleep; Taylor Swift on maintaining energy through disciplined training; Arnold Schwarzenegger on taking personal action; and a personal story about prioritizing family time. He promotes the book, noting it’s available wherever books are sold and invites listeners to follow him at MarkReynoldsTV. The interview is upbeat, with the host repeatedly expressing enthusiasm and prompting Reynolds for practical tips.

Welcome back, everybody. I have got Mark Reynolds here with me now. An author. You know, we love authors on this show. You just came out with a new book.
I did.
That's so exciting.
Yeah. Unfortunately, the reason for the book is that Gallup has reported that Americans are saying at their personal satisfaction with their lives are at all time lows. So I'm Mark Reynolds. I'm a life coach, army veteran, and the author of the new book, how to make Every day Great.
I love it. I love it. So what are some tips that you have for us to make our life great?
Well, I always say, gee, goals. Oprah Winfrey taught us that you can't have a great result if you don't have great goals. And I say, if you want to have a great day, then you have to have a great goal for the day.
Exactly.
Yeah. R rest. I asked Joel Osteen one time. I said, hey, Joel, why do you have so many great days? And he said, when I want to have a great day, I always start with a great night's sleep.
Oh, okay.
And that makes sense. A great day starts the night before.
Yeah.
E. Energy. Taylor Swift. All right.
Queen of energy.
Right on. She told us that she trained on the treadmill running every single day, her entire song set in preparation for her last tour. She ran fast for the fast songs and then, like, slow or walked for the slower songs. And then she could dance for, like, months because she said she, like, wanted to feel it in her bones.
Oh, yeah.
Energy is the secret to Taylor Swift's success.
I love it.
Yeah. And so if you want to have a great day, like Taylor, energy is the secret. She can do it and so can you.
Yeah, exactly. Got to love good energy.
Absolutely. Action. A. Arnold Schwarzenegger says, nobody can do the push ups for you. And that's true. Only you can take the action. And so if you want to have a great day, you have to take the action, because no one can do the actions for you. Just like nobody can have a great day for you. And then tea time. Let's say my wife and I, there's this point where we were having, like a rough patch because I was just traveling all the time and I was on the road and she just looked at me and she said, hey, Mark, why don't you go take care of your business and just come back when you have time.
Yeah.
I was like, I heard what she was saying, and from that point on, I just made family a priority.
Right, exactly.
Because if you want to have a great day, you have to make time for the things that are most important, and that includes the most important person in your life. You.
Yes. Oh, my goodness. Great advice. Okay, so if people want to read more, how can they get your book?
Yeah. It'll be available anywhere that you like to buy books. And if you're interested in following up more with me, you can find me at MarkReynolds TV.
I love it. Great life advice from a life coach. Of course. January. Everybody wants to get their life on track. That is amazing. Well, Mark, thanks so much for being with us.
Oh, thank you. And happy New Year.
Happy New Year. I love it. Start the day off great. All right, folks, we do have to take a quick break. We'll be right back after this.
