In this behind‑the‑scenes video, Mary Schiller explains how she runs her online coaching and content business. She divides her work into three core activities—creating (≈65% of her time), coaching (≈20%), and consuming (≈15%). Creating includes daily emails, Facebook Live videos, free groups, courses, webinars, books, audios, sales pages, and more. Coaching is delivered via one‑on‑one Zoom sessions (video, audio, email), group Zoom/Facebook Live sessions, and Facebook group facilitation. Consuming consists of business training programs, books, and creative/technology learning, undertaken only when needed. Her weekly workload totals about 25 hours spread over six days, with a full day off (usually Sunday), and she reports that she never feels like she’s “working.” Over two years she refined her approach, stopped mimicking others, and reached a six‑figure income in her second year, noting that increased reach and impact drive income. She closes by sharing contact information (mary@maryschiller.com) and promoting her one‑to‑one coaching program “Get Paid to Be You” and the group program “Let’s Make Money, Honey.”

Hello, hello, it's Mary Schiller, author and coach of MarySchiller.com. I wanted to make this video for you to take you behind the scenes of my business so you can see what I'm doing to increase my impact, my reach, and my income all at the same time. So come on backstage with me. In looking at how I am running my business, I realize that I'm doing 3 main activities: creating, coaching, and consuming, but not in equal amounts. I spend most of my time creating. What am I creating? I'm creating things like emails, Facebook Live videos, often daily, other types of videos like this one. I'm also creating free Facebook groups, which I post in regularly, free courses, free webinars, and other talks. What more am I creating? How about books I publish on Amazon, audios both free and for sale, coaching programs both for individuals and groups, What more do I create? Well, I make web pages and sales pages. I create online course content, and I respond to inquiries. I'm sure I'm forgetting something that I create, but the important thing to note is that I spend about 65% of my business-focused time on creating. As of now, I do 3 types of coaching. I do personalized coaching using Zoom and also video, audio, email coaching. I facilitate groups on Zoom calls and Facebook Lives, and I also do Facebook group facilitation. And looking at my schedule, I've realized that I spend about 20% of my business time on coaching. So what kinds of things am I consuming? Usually it's business training programs, business-related books, and/or creative and technology training. Overall, I spend about 15% of my business time on consuming. So I have learned that I only do this when I really feel I need to learn something. So now we have what's probably the million-dollar question, right? How many hours do I put into my business each week? Well, one thing that really helps is is that I never really feel like I'm working. I only do what I want to do and nothing that I don't. So my work, in quotes, week totals about 25 hours over 6 days. I typically take 1 full day off of everything, usually that is on Sundays. So really what has happened over the past 2 years is that I have honed in on the best ways for me to express creativity in what I'm doing. I stopped looking at what everyone else was doing and I essentially did my own thing. I hit the 6-figure mark in year 2, and as my reach and impact grow, so does my income. It's kind of an equation. Thank you so much for joining me for this video tour of MaryShiller.com. I really, really appreciate it. If you'd like to get in touch with me, feel free to email me anytime, mary@maryschiller.com.
