In this personal vlog, Mary Schiller documents Day 22 of her 30‑day "follow my dreams" challenge. She describes preparing to travel from Paris to Lille to attend the Team USA women's basketball game at the 2024 Paris Olympics, noting recent news of high‑speed train disruptions and hoping for a smooth journey. Mid‑vlog she shares a mindset lesson she once received: instead of asking "what's the worst that can happen," ask "what's the worst that can happen and can you handle it?" She affirms that she can handle any negative outcome, using examples from her writing and coaching work. After arriving in Lille, she attends the game, recounts the excitement of the match (Team USA defeating Japan), and reflects on the joy of following her desires. She ends the video late at night, noting she will edit and post the vlog the next day, and signs off with French phrases. The vlog blends travel logistics, personal motivation, and a celebratory recap of the Olympic basketball experience.

Hello, bonjour! It is day 22 of this experiment of following my dreams for 30 days, and today is July 29th, 2024. Today is definitely an example of following my dreams because, if you may recall from a few days ago, I posted a video called Stop Depriving Yourself where I talked about the process of buying tickets to to the Team USA women's basketball game today that my husband and I are just about to leave for, and I'm very excited to get there. It is not in Paris, it is in Lille, which is from Gare du Nord in Paris, it's about an hour-ish on a fast train. The only catch is that if you saw the news, there was some major disruption to several of these fast train lines on Friday, I believe it was. And so we're hoping that the trains are running normally and on time and all of that, because we need to get to Lille in the afternoon to go to the game in the evening. So that is what is in store for me today. I'm assuming that I will post this video tomorrow because I won't get back to the hotel until, I don't know, close to midnight probably. So I won't be editing a video then, so I will edit it tomorrow and post it. But I will try to take some shots as I can today, and I will certainly let you know whether I made it to the game or not. So I wanted to share something that always comes to mind in situations like this, or when I'm thinking about doing something that I've never done before, and it's something that a client said to me several years ago, someone I haven't spoken to in a while, and it was a very, very wise person. They said to me, you know, instead of asking what's the worst that can happen, you ought to ask what's the worst that can happen and can you handle it? And the answer is always yes, because we always have the solution to anything that happens. So let's say I finish this novel rewrite, I get it self-published on Amazon or whatever, and people hate it. Like, could I handle it? Of course I could handle it. If I launch some new offers in my coaching business and they don't work the way that I thought they would, can I handle it? Of course. I've had that happen many, many times. So, you know, I appreciate the question of what's the worst that can happen, And I also like that follow-up of, can you handle it if that's what happens? So I will see how much video I can add to this today, and I will certainly let you know whether I got to the women's basketball game in Lille or not. It is 11:30 PM. Just got back to the hotel here in Lille, and I am just gonna be dreaming about basketball tonight. I know that. That was so much fun. Got to see everyone play. Everyone scored. Japan put up a good fight, but in the end, Team USA prevailed. Uh, I just can't believe how magnificent it was to see everyone. I'm so happy we did this. So worth it. Remember, don't deprive yourself of things that you want. So I am gonna go to bed. We go back to Paris in the morning, and then I'll be editing this video and posting it a day late, but c'est la vie. À bientôt!
