Hey there, it's Mary Schiller. I am doing something that I have not done before, which is do a YouTube Live directly from my iPhone. So I'm literally on here for just like 2 minutes or something to test out this feature because I am putting together some new fun stuff in the new year related to building an audience using live video because it has been such a crucial part of my whole experience in building my own business, crucial part of my whole experience in building my own business, that I really want to help people to use it. So this is a very casual one. As you can see, I'm just hanging out here in my apartment in Paris. I do have a little bit of makeup on, makeup on, so I didn't think about that much. But I really would love for more people to try using live video. I know that I really enjoy going to live presentations. I have several— going to live presentations. I have several people that I follow regularly who offer live presentations for free and even some for paid that I attend. And I don't know, there's just something really cool about being able to interact with someone in real time, even if you're not in the same room with them. I do love live in-person events and things like that as well. But for most of us, it's not convenient to fly all around the world and see the people that we enjoy hearing from. And so I would just love to find some ways to encourage people to do a live video and make a real connection with people in that way. And, you know, not just build a larger audience, but a more engaged audience. When I think back on— as I'm taping this right now, or recording this right now— when I think back on, you know, the history of my own coaching business over the last 2 and a half years, Pardon me, I'm still dealing with this flu. Can you believe it? It's almost done. You know, really, it's been so helped by being willing to come on live and talk to people and to engage with people and answer their questions and just be available. And it's so much fun to, to be able to hear from people in real time and to be able to respond to them in the best way that I can. And so it's something that I would love to encourage more people to do, particularly if you're in a field like coaching where people really want to know what you're about. They want to hear from you directly. They want to know if you're the type of person who they're going to be comfortable talking with. And so it's just such a beautifully simple way to create those kinds of connections. The other thing that's on my mind while I've got you here is that I just love the new year because it's such a cool way to turn a new page in life. It's like we've been given a fresh notebook. Don't you remember that feeling in school when school would start up again and you didn't have anything written? In your notebook. It was all fresh white paper, you know, back in the days when we used paper and pens. But anyway, um, you know, it was such a fun feeling to have that fresh clean slate every September, you know. And, and that's kind of how I feel about the new year. It's kind of like, all right, let's look back on what happened in the previous year and let's see what would be fun to do in the new year coming forward. And What's so different for me these last few years is that, you know, in the past I used to really stress about that. I would be very critical and I was constantly, you know, measuring my self-worth and measuring all of my, you know, accomplishments or my non-accomplishments more like. And, and I was, you know, looking at all the things that I hadn't done. I was comparing myself to other people and all this stuff. Now I don't do that at all. Now it's more like, what would be joyful for me to do in this next year? You know, what are some things that would be really fun for me to try to, to do? You know, if you kind of look at them as very sort of simple, easy goals that don't have anything attached to them, it's just so much fun to see what can be created through us. You know, I used to have this sense that everything was on me, that you know, everything that occurred was on my shoulders. Hi Terry, nice to see you here. And now things look so different to me because I can see that most of the work is being done for me. You know, most of the work is actually already done, and by the time I hear a new idea in my head, you know, I've got everything I need to do the thing. So it's just not such a big heavy feeling anymore when I approach a new year and I'm thinking, oh gosh, what would I love to do? So, you know, if you'd like to make a comment, if you're watching this video, you know, once it's posted as a recording, and you'd like to share with me what you would like to do in the new year, something that seems really fun and maybe even a little scary, you know, it's got a little bit of charge with it, something that you'd really like to do, I would sure love to hear. And just know that there's no way for you to make a mistake, you know. There's nothing you, you can do wrong. There's just room to explore and room to investigate and room to discover. And oh, thanks, Terry. Yeah, that would be, that would be fun. I would, I would love to go to one of your classes, Terry. I can't wait to see what you're gonna offer in 2019. And so, you know, just know that, that there's no way for you to fail. You know, it's all about exploring and trying new things. Just like this is the first time I've tried a YouTube Live video from my phone. You know, it's all an experiment. And thanks for that, Terry. And you know, it's all about just experimenting and seeing what comes of whatever happens that you do. And like I said, you know, I'm looking forward to the new year because I've got some new ways that I want to serve people, and I'm excited about what those might bring to the people who I have in my community and some new people I'd love to bring in. And also what it's going to mean for me, you know, it's going to mean me discovering some new things about myself, and that's always a cool little bonus, you might say, to being human is we're always in a process of self-discovery. So I think I'm going to sign off for now. Now that I know how simple this YouTube Live is, I may do it some more just through my phone. It was like a 2-second thing to set up, so give it a try. And also, again, post in the comments what you would like to do in 2019, what things seem like it would be fun and exciting to try, uh, that you haven't done before. And I will be sure to respond to your comments. Now, if I can figure out where to stop this, that would be cool. I don't see anything. Let me look. All right, uh, what is this? Um, okay, it's not that. What's this? No, not that. Uh, I have no idea, so maybe I just exit the app. I'm not sure, but I will check back with you guys later, so
