Hi there, this is Mary Schiller and this is another episode of Project Streamline, simplifying business for bigger impact and bigger income. How is everybody today? I wanted to share a little update, uh, related particularly to selling, uh, books on Amazon, which is now becoming a big focus for me. I currently have 9 titles on Amazon. I have 3 that are Kindle only, and I have 6 that are Kindle and also paperback. I also have paperbacks on all of the other major retailers, so Barnes Noble, Kobo, etc. And recently I decided that I wanted to make marketing these books a bigger focus because they're there and they are selling, but I wouldn't mind adding a zero to each day's sales, uh, figure. That would be quite nice, uh, not just for my income, but also for the reach and impact that the books can have. And so I recently purchased a program by a fellow named Nick Stephenson. That's with a PH. And I think it's called Get Your First 10,000 Readers, something like that. And it is a really good training. Now, I'm really picky about trainings, but I have been super impressed with this training so far. And so with the latest book that I just released called How to Price Like a Girl, I am trying his strategy with the book. Now, I haven't even come close to implementing everything yet. I'm still in the process, but I'll tell you where I am right now. So I got the book written fairly quickly, within about a week or so of deciding to write it, and I put it up on Amazon for 99 cents. What was kind of cool was I started a free Facebook group related to the topic of Price Like a Girl, which is basically focused on pricing your services and products in a way that's powerful and with conviction and without apology. And so I had a ready-made group of readers who read each chapter as I wrote it, offered comments, found little typos. So that was really fun. So that was a new experience for me to do it that way. So once the book was finished, I put it in the Kindle format and I uploaded it not only to Amazon but to Kobo, iTunes, and Barnes Noble. The latter 3 I did through a company called Draft2Digital.com. Which I think I mentioned in a previous video, and I was able to set it to free on those. On Amazon, you have to start at least at 99 cents, and for this particular book, I didn't want to do that. I wanted to offer it for free, so I did not enroll it in the Kindle Select program because in that you still have to keep it at 99 cents. You can have free days in 90 days. I think you could have it free for 5 days, but I wanted this one permanently free. So once it got up onto Barnes Noble, Kobo, and iTunes for free, I sent a note to the Amazon people and said, hey, could you price match this? Just today I got the response back, yes, we price matched it. So now it is free on Amazon too. So following Nick Stephenson's brilliant advice, I put a nice big ad right in the front for a free download. I made this really kind of cool PDF about doubling your fees fast. And so I send people directly to the Pricelikeagirl.com website. And right there is a nice landing page with the opt-in for that. I have noticed actually already, even before the book was free, when it was $0.99, I got a few signups already, which was surprising because I haven't marketed this book yet. So my next step is to follow this beautiful email sequence that Nick Stephenson has laid out, which includes another free gift. So I already did an audio related to pricing. So I'll do that. He has another suggestion of doing like a giveaway. So I'm going to do that. And I have a few other emails in that sequence. So that is my project basically for the rest of this week is to get that email sequence set up really nicely. And then probably next week I will send a note out to my email list to go find the book. I may do it on some Facebook pages. I don't know exactly what I'm going to do yet for that. I need to check out Nick's suggestions on how to get people to the free book. On Amazon. And I'm just really excited about using this particular book as my first experiment. I do plan to go into all of the other books that I've written and make a stronger call to action to join my email list by offering a free giveaway. In the book that I put out recently called I Am Just a Woman, which is the memoir that I mentioned before, I created a 3-part class called Unleash Your Courage. So I'm considering using that as my opt-in for all of the books that I have because it definitely relates to everything that I've written about so far. So that's kind of my update. So I've got the How to Price Like a Girl book free everywhere. That was a kind of a hurdle to get past. I have an email sequence that I need to write and then we'll see what happens. I'm really, really looking forward to sharing updates with you guys on this particular part of this process. And if you have any questions at all about self-publishing or anything I've talked about, just post them in the comments and I'm happy to answer. Talk to you soon. Bye.
